Near miss is an appropriate theme today because two years after our car accident I’m trying to focus more on the survivors, including Mr. Eko here…pictured in all his regal handsomeness. We were so blessed that he and hubby and younger son were unharmed. Maggi pulled Eko’s crate out of the car after the accident and said his eyes were HUGE. Of course Eko goes through life with huge eyes…lol.
Instead of the “what ifs” of what might have happened if I could search for Lucy the next day, I’m trying to be thankful for the effort Maggi put into finding her (and is probably still putting into finding her). It really does help in living with the situation.
After laying awake at nights for months in Lubbock, thinking through the logistics of moving four cats across the country while keeping them safe and comfortable, I’m trying to appreciate the fact that three of them made it here safely.
Instead of focusing on the tragedy of Lucy having a loving home one second and being homeless and scared the next, I’m trying to focus on the love she enjoyed at our house for the time we had her. As younger son said today, “Lucy was s good cat. She was such a good friend to the other cats.” She really was.
