The subject of radio makes me nostalgic for a time I never even experienced. :). But I’ve watched enough of The Walton’s to appreciate the coziness of a family sitting together in the living room, listening to the radio.

Our neighbor brought us a mum and introduced herself last night. So sweet. We traded phone numbers so we can contact each other if needed. I appreciate being on friendly terms with the neighbors so much. Still miss our sweet neighbors across the street from Lubbock.

ETA…the little brown bunny is in our back yard this morning. Which reminds me, neighbor and I had a chat about bird feeding, etc… She said a hawk has been hanging around our yards and maybe the seed eaters are making themselves scarce because of that. She said the heat could be a factor too. But she told us the birds she gets…so we should get some eventually too.

Morning EC and KJ! ….. I first heard the Beatles, the Stones, Beachboys, Joni Mitchell, etc. on the Radio my Dad gave me in the ’60s ….. I remember many hours listening to ‘my music’ while doing homework, or trying to roll my hair on those huge orange juice cans! LOL …. I got a record player for my 12th birthday, and I think the first album I bought was December’s Children…… fond memories!

…. nice to meet good neighbors, EC! ….. we had the best neighborhood friends in the big house we raised our kids in, the entire block of kids would play hide the flag in the evenings ….. kids ranged from 6 to 16, brothers and sisters of all ages …. they had a blast! ….. and our street was dead end on both sides, so our little cul de sac circle was a safe and secure place for them to play….. we’d have street BBQs on the weekends ….. good times!

.. Well, I’m getting ready to go down and get to work on my NEW computer, so happy it got all set up ….. I have to say, the 27″ screen feels like working on a movie screen! larger than my kitchen TV! LOL ….

Good morning KJ, ECB, and AV.
Love the pledge drive/operators have no thumbs pic! Listened to WABC radio out of NYC on my transistor radio – I can still hear the jingle! Big deal when I got a speaker that was flat so one could lay on a pillow and listen, much more comfy than those earphone thingies (called earbuds now).
ECB, how nice that you are getting to know friendly neighbors. When there’s a bird of prey around here, the birds make themselves scarce.
Enjoy that big a$$ monitor, AV!
    Oh those oj cans, lol!

Paw up waving good wootsday m’eowrn from sunny Summer’s day in brewtown…to be in 80’s rest of week…woo hoo, haven’t had that all Summer!
Fun theme, save electric groove to my stash too, thanks KJ. Still listen to radio up north…hardly do TV, no computer up there/unless library. Truly enjoy the simpler way of life most of the time!
Well, it’s day 3 w/pile o’billy buds on desk so will grab my java & back at it…wishing all the best day yet this week…now a smooch for Tux, later kits.

Hi JK – yay, you finally have summer weather!

Anniversary dinner on the lake last evening was fabulous! Very old building updated nicely but still retained that rustic look. Lots of iron and cobblestone and fieldstone. Beautiful weather, dined on the terrace just a few feet from the water. Lots of ducks hanging out, fun to watch. From German Nachos to Chocolate Mousse, everything was great. Oh and the margaritas were good too!

German Nachos – real potato chips, bratwurst, red onions and an amazing cheese sauce that I can’t remember the name of!
Contrary to some of the reviews, the food was great and it was not that expensive. We have spent more for entrees at other places. Courteous and pleasant staff and they timed the courses perfectly.
There was a main terrace, that you can see in the picture, and also a lower one, up close and personal to the water!

Move over JK, coming through the wormhole to sit beside you! German nachos sound awesome!! Was hoping to sit here and chat a while, but Mr. KZ came up here to tell me we need to take off in the car to drop off some stuff to the tax guy. 😕 Much rather be here. I’ll be back later all!

    Waves at everyone 🙂

Putzing around and trying to sort thru the piles of magazines I have here so they can go away to places where others can see/read them (hopefully rehab facilities and places like that), it is harder than one thinks. But I can’t seem to get tired enough to sleep so may as well do something productive.

Love all the pictures and ideas everyone is sharing, sorry I haven’t been engaging much lately….guess just too much hitting the brain cells all at once lately.
