Could one of the staff kitties set aside their piano playing and pleeze get me a virtual bevvie – prefurrably something 96-proof!
Have to catch up on today but just got home. Doctor was 1 hr late in starting his appts from outset. I got to wait close to 2 hrs. Along with corridor of impatient patients. Was fortunate to score a padded chair and moved it near fan as I like heat, but on a day like this with no central A/C very not fun. Had just done intense spin class and not eaten since am. Thankfully bite looks OK and no more treatment needed. Now this doc is expert, but has rep for lacking something in the “people person” sphere. Read me riot act as to what can occur should Dorry bite one of my joints, ie a finger, not good. I mentioned that while he nips, this srs bite was accident. Asked how do I know that he won’t have another such accident. And that I should have seen him right away. Said that I didn’t know that other doc, a GP, was not up on cat bite treatment. So I said that I’d have to be watchful. And said thank-you for diagnosis/treatment and was of course polite. Then lost it in hptl lobby. So what I’ve done is left msg for my city’s version of “Jackson Galaxy”, to set up session. I’ve had him here once before, but clearly need refresher. Vet (yes I did call them and was re-told that Dorry just had check-up and prob is behavioural) concurs that this sounds like a plan. And as I type this Dorry is loving me with kisses and head bonks.
Also hot/humid out and I’m wrecked (for now.) There’s a latte with my name on it, but a drink would be nice, ‘cept no liquor on hand. Virtual it must be. Thanks guys for letting me unburden my angst. You’re the best!

And on the upbeat side, aside from saying bye to those loathsome antibiotics, I did get a whole lot of knitting done. Cable sweater, 12-row sections, entire section completed!
Kit probably did think he/she was bringing you a pressie, Joan. Fly free through the Meadow, birdie! *Sigh*

Yay, KJ. Glad that’s over with and you’re healing nicely! Sorry you had to wait so long….and hungry!

Well, I need a virtual beverage too, but something celebratory like champagne. Emily got her last antibiotic injection! So excited…I hated violating her trust like that. She’d hide and hide then come out because she needed some mommy love then BAM!….she’d get scooped up to be given a shot. She stays hidden when hubby is around because she knows it takes two of us. Wish I could tell her it’s all over now in a way she’d understand.

Still need to get Eko tonight. He’s resting on a high shelf right now…smart kitty. But he’s usually easy to collect…hard to hold still though. He’s bent a couple of needles by jerking when they are in him.

Wow KJ, what a way to spend an afternoon. Well, now it’s over and you can look forward to a new sweater (in record time) and get to meet with a cat guru and that will be good for Dorry and for you if only to relieve your stress about him.
You deserve a latte with lots of fluffy cream on top!

There was a piano in the house growing up, both sisters played, but I chose baton twirling! I picked up a bit, and was able to read basic music, but any playing was mostly by ear for me.
KJ, meant to mention earlier, it’s hot and humid here, and the sun seems to come out just as I’m going out for my walk. Good to get a ‘session’ for you and Dorry, you’ll pick up a few tips for sure. Dr asking what if there’s another accident is a super stupid question. How can one guarantee there won’t be an accident? If we all knew when an accident would happen, there wouldn’t be any! Precautions, I get, that makes sense, but hey, why don’t we all just live in bubbles? The only reason Leela bit me was because of the way I was smooshing a treat and a med together and I didn’t have the right grip and the right angle to her mouth. Since then I’ve given her hundreds of treats without incident. I also know not to try to clip her nails because she will bite. Not may, will. I also know not to mess with her when she is the least bit agitated and ‘talk her down’ with a praising tone of voice that is soothing to her.
Shout out to my niece on the west coast who got married today – conCATS, Jasper the survivor’s mama!

    Goodmorning all.
Great pics. LOL at the Do-Re-Me . . and Fred and the Cat thermostat pic.
I used to learn the piano but I didn’t like my teacher, especially when she would rap me on the knuckles for not cupping my hands or hold my wrists up. Good grief lady, I was never going to be a concert pianist, I just wanted to play for pleasure and even that was taken away. I can still play but seldom get to these days. Mum has the piano at her house and I don’t like an audience.
Deb, Yay, doing a happy dance that the frame was not damaged and the repair work will be done quickly. Brilliant news. Enjoy the movie and please give your dad a hug from me when you visit him for his Happy Birthday. 😀 Just heard a friends car was totalled by another car running a red light, no injuries thankfully.
Nooooooooo ! Sal come and visit Abby. I hope that he hasn’t moved away as poor Abby will be inconsolable.
ECB, good to hear Eko’s mouth is fine and the pain patch is gone.
KJ ! We are piano lesson sisters – both been abused on the knuckles. That action is definitely not the way to instill the love and appreciation of music. I’m glad I took music up a few years later although the first try then nearly put me off with a flute teacher who drank and insisted on demonstrating on the ‘borrowed’ flute and then giving it to me to try. Yuk! alcohol and foreign spit. Brother then living in the UK bought me a clarinet and sent it over and I had a much better teacher.
Glad your bite area is looking so much better KJ.
I had a wee accident with a sharp instrument yesterday while doing something for Mum, I sort of stabbed myself in the fleshy base of my thumb. I am looking after it and so far no infection but it is very sore and my thumb is reluctant to move too much.
LOL at ECB and “do you scoop bear poop’ and then I wondered if having bear poop around would encourage other bears to the property or keep them away.
Wow BB, so many turkeys, how wonderful it must be when they come visiting. BB you too with a strict music teacher. Piano lessons are a good foundation.
KZ I hated the recitals too. Oh, I used to be able to read music but forgot and then had to teach myself again later when I joined a local orchestra, I just always played by ear but you can’t do in an orchestra.
KJ, thank goodness you don’t have to take any more antibiotics. Just heal now.
Oh, no more antibiotics for Emily either ! ! Yay.
Funny story – we had rain yesterday, enough to get Noah concerned. HRH spent most of the day inside asleep but went out late afternoon then back inside for dinner and back outside. I heard Mr MS arrive home a short while later and then my phone rang, Mr MS calling from the drive to say “check the front porch”. There was HRH nomming down on some small bird happily. Not enough feathers left for identification. She then came inside for a beef chaser. There was me becoming concerned at her recently picky appetite.

Thanks Joan, for so eloquently putting words to my thoughts!
PG, that virtual bubbly tickled my nose! The knit kit hat is awesome, and I feel confident that I could make it and that Dorry would look most fetching in it, but don’t think he’d agree and won’t be testing the waters anytime soon!

MS, our respective piano teachers must have studied in same school on how to physically abuse one’s students. Now my high school geometry teacher (known to be a total jerk on two feet) threw the textbook at me. It was deep pink and grey, the book that is! Helped to turn me off maths for good. But I love music. Can’t sight sing, but if I hear a tune I can sing it back. Which is why I was in choir all through school. And in uni and even after spent 10 years in chorus/as dancer in Gilbert and Sullivan productions with Savoy Society. That’s where I met ex-Mr. KJ, quite a few couples met there. Bad brief marriage which I extricated myself from on my own terms. But wonderful memories of being on stage in costume!
MS is certainly one self-sufficient kitty! Appetizer followed by main course. Not sure that Dorry would know what to do with a bird if one came up and introduced itself. Purrhaps instinct would kick in.
I need to set my restart button as today ended up being not fun. Hopefully will get something set up with cat behaviourist and will feel more at ease tomorrow.
Have a good night all, if it’s night in your respective n’hoods. Or a good afternoon!

KJ, love G & S musicals and most musicals. I met Mr MS playing in the orchestra for My Fair Lady and it turns out we had met many years before that when we were about seven years of age and our respective Mothers were helping out with the costumes for the Mikado. Small world.
I think we did 4-5 musicals before we married and moved to the country. We loved doing the shows, so much fun with all the stage and orchestra pit people together for after opening/closing night parties. Always a vibrant crowd.
I am sure Dorry would find his instincts kicking in. He had a wonderful time here yesterday while you were out. He and HRH manafed to nip outside between showers and thunder storms and chase leaves across the wet lawn.
My hand is becoming tired and sore typing so I will disappear for a while.

Mom had signed me and my sister up for piano lessons. I went to the lesson but didn’t bother staying there. I thought I was so smart until the piano teacher sent the bill and only one student was taking lessons. 😮

OK MS-you sorta stabbed your thumb?!? Miss Gaea does that as well. Why aren’t you eating your food? Then I find a tail or a feather…

Concats on your niece getting hitched and many happy times together.
