Snowball is about 5 1/2 weeks old now and we ended up making another trip to the vet the last week cause she was throwing up and a couple of other odd things were going on. Well we found out she had coccidia or something like that lol and is on meds for it and is working great and we also found out that the when she would just lay there with head loped to the side and wouldn’t do anything is cause her suger is low and was told next time she does it just to give her a little honey on her gums and she would purk right up. Boy was the vet ever right about that 10 mins after we gave her that honey the other day it was like nothing was ever wrong and went nuts running everywhere and playing with the kids for like 2 hours. Iam very happy to say she doing great. NOW if i could only get her to DRINK WATER any advice on i would greatly appreciated

    Aww that’s great news!!

Yes honey is a godsnwd sometimes and can help greatly in an emergency situation .. It’s good for shock too it gives a boost to their sugar levels giving them a fightin chance while on their way to a vet ..

As for the water if snowball is in wet food something a cat/kitten will drink very little cause they are getting most of the moisture they need from the wet food.. But I always added a little water to the wet food just to make sure they got enough water.. Or you could buy a pet water fountain.. Most animals especially cats will always prefer to drink from running water .. In the wild running water has less of a risk of being contaminated and they also sometimes prefer their water source to be away from their food.. It justs natural instincts so those double food water bowls don’t suit some cats.. Especially if thy are made from plastic so cats can taste the plastic also they can become crawling in bacteria and some plastic can be toxic so glass, ceramic or stainless steel is always best 🙂

Woohoo, Miss Snowball…You go grrl! Thanks for making sure wee Snowball is growing into a healthy kit, Ivana. I’m sure this is a roller coaster ride but you’re an awesome meowmy.

Hi there, I second the suggestion that wet food is the best way to fluids down them. Other than that, when the vet said to feed him fish. I tried steaming it in the micro, then putting some of the liquid from the fish into his water. Guts was ecstatic 🙂
