Good morning all. I have wonderful news and not so wonderful news.

It really IS Horace. Stacey came over again last night and she was able to get a good look at him. While he is still very frightened and confused as to how he ended up in my house, there is NO doubt that it is Horace. Stacey and Cloe, her daughter are very exicited about getting Horace back but we STILL can’t seem to catch him. My Son Will had him Twice yesterday (he has the battle scars to prove it), My Michael had him twice and Michael’s sister Candy had him once too. When you catch him, he will let you hold him but as soon as you try and put him in the carrier, he totally skitzes!

We tried to fish him out of the attic for more than an hour, no luck. Stacey is going to try and secure a trap today from the local ASPCA and see if that works. Wish us luck.

I just goes to show that if your furr baby goes missing, NEVER give up hope in finding him/her!! After a 1 1/2 years, they will need to reaquaint themselves but at least she will, after all this time and worry, have him back.

The smiles and tears of joy flowed like a river last night with hugs all around. As soon as she has him back it is right to the vets office for a full check up, neutering, and grooming. It will be just like pampering at a spa for Horace, then home with his family.

I just can’t stop smiling today!!

Thank you for all your prayers and good thoughts yesterday. We still need them though to get Horace to cooperate and let us help him get home again.

    Wish us luck!!!

Such encouraging news – good luck in catching frightened Horace. There’s an ad in our local newspaper lost and found section that says “still looking for Blossom” and goes on to name the motel the little black and white kitty went missing….in 1996!

What a wonderful reunion this will be for Stacey and Horace!

Woohoo! I’m thrilled that Horace is just about to be reunited with his long-lost loving family. So few times do we hear stories with happy endings.

My Tansey got out the night before we were to leave on a two-week vacation. I’d been loading the truck and trailer and somehow, she escaped. My husband was playing in a band until midnight, I told him about His Little Girl(tm) and he walked the streets at 3am, calling for her!

Little stinker, she probably just hid and LOOKED at him. She finally came home around 6am, the husband opened the front door and there she was, dewed-upon, purring like a fiend, and VERY hungry. All three of us were crying together. I never could have left for two weeks not knowing my darling was safe in her house!

Awesome news!!! It sounds as those Horace never completely reverted to feral if he can be picked up at all. Stacy is going in the right direction getting an animal trap. I’m sure she’ll be able to trap him w/it. I f anyone knows how frustrating it can be to try & catch a cat running on pure instinct & survival,I would. I’ve been trying to catch Siameezer for 3 years. I can’t wait for future updates on their reunion. 🙂

I’m so glad to hear it’s Horace! At this point, he’s been thoroughly frightened by people picking him up and trying to put him in carriers. A trap is definitely the best way to go, baited with the most tempting food one can think of (tuna often works).

I, too, look forward to hearing how Horace readjusts to life with Stacey and Chloe. I trust they’ll have him as an indoor-only cat?

Well she HOPES to keep him as an indoor only cat. I know from my own experiances with my Pricilla that that is easier said than done. If they want out, they will get out. We are hoping that once he is fixed, that cuts his earge to roam.

I hope Stacey keeps in mind it can take 6 to 8 weeks after neutering for the urge to roam to subside. (That’s about how long it takes for the testosterone to level out, after neutering.)

Woo Hoo!!! Hopefully the trap works!!! Or he tires himself out enough that you can get a good hold on him 🙂

Such good news! The hardest thing when a cat goes missing is not knowing what happened, if they are dead or alive & suffering.

Well Horace you little Imp! This is great news..What a relief to know he has survived all this time. It will take quite some time I imagine for him to readjust to being home. I don’t think I’d expect him to co-operate in the long run with being an indoor cat since he’s had his freedom to Tom Cat around for a year and a half. Best of luck to all…please keep us posted on his progress.

Well, Stacey wasn’t able to come over yesterday with the trap so Horace is still at large in my building. I heard him crying yesterday and tried to see if he would come to me but no dice. As soon as I spoke to him, he darted. He is eating and drinking so at least I know he is OK for the moment. I just hope we can catch him soon as he is driving the rest of the zoo crew crazy with just his presence in THERE home.

Just keep going down and talking to him until he gets used to the idea of people again. At least he is safe and being fed.
