My and my flatmate picked up kittens last night. They’ve been here less than 24 hours and only ate and used their litter tray overnight. They haven’t eaten or drank anything today. They’re just hiding. They seem terrified. We’ve bought a feromone diffuser plug in which we’ve had in for the past couple of hours.

Currently they are being under my bed with all their necessities in the room and doors all proper open.

Are we doing this right? Any suggestions?

I can relate to this. My last cat acted similar to what you’re describing. My advice to you is give them time and they’ll come around. They’re in a new environment and setting and need to get used to you and what’s around them. Make sure they eat and don’t get dehydrated. If they won’t drink water right away try putting an ice cube in their water dish. I don’t know the situation or if they were abused or neglected but if they are only 11 weeks those situations seem unlikely. If they won’t eat try wiping a little bit of food on their lips and gums. Keep an eye on them and if it doesn’t get better soon get them to the vets and find out what they said.
I’d say though it’s because they’re in a new environment setting.
I would like to know how get a long with this and if any of my advice helped.
    Good Luck,
    Crystal

The reason they’re not coming out is all the noise and traffic. This is why they came out last night when it was quiet. You might put them in their own room for a few days. Make sure they have water, food and a litter tray. They need time to settle in and the whole house is scary for a couple of wee kits. In a day or so, leave the door open so they can come and go.

I agree pussigato they need quiet until they get used to their surroundings.
