Good morning. *yawning* I’d sure rather be in bed right now with my kitties.

My husband works 6am-2:30pm during the school year (which begins today). Makes it easier for me to get up and go to the gym.

He’s a custodian in a high school and he’s RETIRIMG December 19 to change careers and become a jewelry-maker. He makes fused glass, lampwork beads, does scrimshaw… he didn’t want to be a Starving Artist(tm) so he got a job he hated that had excellent bennies and a retirement plan….and now there’s light at the end of the tunnel for him…..real White Light, the light of finally being able to do what you’ve always wanted to do!

Oooh, in bed with kitties. That does sound marvelous. Tansey took a little snooze with me yesterday, she -insisted- on going under the sheet to cuddle next to me. She hasn’t done that in awhile, because Hermes inevitably walks all over her.

Morning again everyone, its sad about that little girl. Have thought myself that the little girl was either dead or her mother had sold her from the start but hoping that I was wrong and still do. Yes I am only 1 day from starting a few days off, and can’t even wait…I need the time and rest 🙂

G’morning all. What a dreary Tuesday. It looks more like a Monday. Rainy day here in Ormond Beach FL. I’ll take a bacon, egg, swiss cheese sandwich please with some hot strong coffee and a mega large OJ. I hope y’all are well. I too, think that Caylee is dead. I think the mom has no concience at all.

Siobhan, that sounds fabulous, good on your husband for being so wise. Hope he totally loves his new career and I bet he’s champing at the bit to get back to being creative all the time. Lucky you — I hope you get to advertise his wares by wearing them all over town!

Hi Joan, SOM, LK and anyone I might have missed.

Maddie got up and I made her some apple/cinnamon oatmeal with some fruit. So we are at the table eating like a big girl. No more high chair for her 🙂

Siobhan, I have to tell my hubby about your hubby, we just had this talk yesterday and he is trying to get out of banking and get his CFP(certified financial planner) so he can get more money and have a designation after his name and kind of start a new career, but he was freaking out that he is 40 and is he doing the right thing…etc. I think your hubby is doing the right thing. Good for him.

*hands plates of goodies and kitties to everyone*

OK, that’s scary. I know we have earthquakes but (touch wood) we usually have 50 years or so to get over a big one. Has your hurricane season always been this bad or do you think climate change is bringing the extreme weather events scientists have been predicting? The weather seems to be getting more and more extreme all over the world.

It varies jcat…it seems some years the states get hit with so many storms/hurricanes and then other years..not as much. I don’t live where they hit so I am sure the people who live in those states could shed more light on it.

I’m here. Actually, last year we didn’t have any hurricanes, so it varies from year to year. One year, we got hit by 4 big ones. Dennis, Francis, Jean, Katrina (although Katrina hit New Orleans worse than us). Want to hear the funniest thing….. We had Hurricane Dennis and Hurricane Jean and my parents names are Dennis and Jean! LOL

It varies. Not usually on the ground in the Wairarapa but to get here from Wellington, the capital, you have to take a state highway that goes over the Rimutaka Hills and they get snow in the winter. There’s great skiing in both the North Island and the South Island, on the mountains. We call the tip of the north island, the ‘winterless North’. But the further south you go, the closer you get to the Antarctic… brrrrr….
