We are warm and rainy here in Kentucky. Personally I wouldn’t mind some snow…just not the foot of snow they are expecting some places!

Morning, Everyone! When I went to the gym at 5:45 am this morning it was 55 degrees. But we have a front blowing in and it’s supposed to drop to the low 40’s by noon. I think that I am going to bake some cookies!

Good morning all. It is around 40 degrees here this morning. Brrr! My cats are like velcro now. Sylvester can’t seem to get enough of my lap and I am loving it. Mia just jumps up and does a few kneading and then jumps down. Well, I talked to my manager this morning about the change in overtime and I let her know that I am losing about $600 a month from the overtime and she was sympathetic. We discussed how several companies are announcing layoffs and how our company has been running lean so that she doesn’t see any coming our way. I hope that is true as the job market really is bad out there.

I bought a lotto ticket yesterday on the way home. Mega lotto is at 170 million and California lotto is at 27 million. Half the fun is dreaming about what I would do if I won the whole thing or 5 numbers out of 5 (usually that wins between $40-200k).

GD, sorry you were having anxiety issues last night. Hope you are feeling better today.

Joan, I hope your renovations are finished soon so that you can relax and enjoy your home once again.

I got my christmas cards out in the mail yesterday. Boy you should have seen the line at the post office! It took me an hour to stand in line, put the stamps on the cards, mail them and get back to work. I am to assume that those in Calif should be seeing them in the next day or two, rest of the US should see them by Friday and international by mid next week. I am guessing of course.

I am having a nice pumpkin scone and a mocha this morning. It is quite delicious. mmmmm.

    Ohhhh…pumpkin scone…will you share, SMM?

Sounds like everyone’s weather isn’t what we’d like. Don’t know if any of you have seen this, but it sure is cute and fitting for today.

Aloha kakou… hello all ! Late to the breakfast cafe again, but just in time for brunch. Hot chocolate with whipped cream to start. Eggs, corned beef hash, bacon… that should do me well.

Still fiddling around with the kitchen last night. Working on putting up the trim. Hmmm… not going as well, easy or quickly as I had hoped. 3 hours of work last night, and probably 3 more tonight. Joan – mine aren’t as extensive as yours, and I’m doing all the work myself (except for the tile) so I have great empathy for what you are dealing with !

I am loving receiving all the cards…. you are making my Christmas ! My TDK family is the only one I have received any cards from… so far. You guys are awesome.

Same goes for me, 2P, TDKers are the only ones who have sent me Christmas cards so far. Since my Mom is upset with me, do not think I will see one from my parents this year. Oh well such is life.

I definitely will share, LK. Here you go..a nice pumpkin scone with light icing on one side of it. A little sweet but yummy! Enjoy. Also, I am loving the cooler weather as I find this is my kind of weather. Love it when my kitties want to cuddle.

Anyone who is doing renovations, would love to see the before and after photos of your project. Hope it all works out for you.

HM, sending you some hugs. That must be quite frustrating to know you received something only to have the mail company misplace it. Thinking positive they will have it for you today.

SMM…. I’ll look through all the photos I took — I’m sure I have something to send you of the before/after. I love to document that kind of thing.

We haven’t received any cards other than from my TDK family, either. I don’t think that people are doing them as much because the cost really can creep up there. And there is to be another raise next spring in the price of a first class stamp. We are having so much fun looking at all of our cards!

    Hi all, I’m back!

I lost my match 6-4 in the third set 🙁 My partner was really upset, but she’s been away and hasn’t played much.

I left the match and went to pick up my mail and stopped at the vets to give them a card from Bobby and Mi and their Christmas pictures. Then had to stop at Target for a few things. Tonight I’m going to a Christmas party with my tennis team and I’m looking forward to that. I’m going to work from 4:30 – 7:00 and then will leave to get to the party at 7:30. Yay!

I’m hoping my anxiety attack last night was a one-time thing and that they won’t start up again.

Bobby and Mi send greetings. They’re upset I still didn’t get a tree. I was thinking of doing it tomorrow, but now it looks as if I’m going to go for that darn hair cut tomorrow that I missed last week.

I’m back, and we won!!! My team actually won the golf tourney!!! I will say, I had one of the strongest players as our leader, but I did make a couple of really good putts to help out!! does a little happy dance!!!

I do love getting everyone’s cards.. thanks so much, like everyone else, the TDKers are almost the only cards we’re getting this year. I’m working on my video card ( sorry I can’t afford the postage this year ), but I’m hoping to give you all a glimpse of some of the “funny” characters in my life. i.e. Nef (the pig), Meatball (the monitor), and of course Cuddles and Abbs. Son gets home around the 18th, and he will help me finish it, so I may be late, but I’m thinking of you all and wish everyone the happiest, most joyful, peaceful and loving holidays (whatever your celebration might be).

    Sorry for your loss GD.

    Good for you Abbi.

GD, have you had panic attacks before? I developed them after a reaction to a drug given to me after surgery. I used to get them strangely enough when I had a cold. Did not want to use the addictive type anti-anxiety drugs, and have found a holistic type solution. If you’d like to try something let me know

Ooooh, this sounds like it’ll be fun, AV! I’ve only gotten TDK Christmas cards myself this year. I hope the tradition of writing Christmas cards isn’t dying out 🙁

Glad you won the gold tournament, AV – I’m unhappy I lost my tennis match. I’m 9 – 3 now, but I would have really liked to be 10 – 2!

Yes, TL, I’ve had them before. I dstarted having them about maybe 6 years ago or so. I went through extensive testing because I was sure there was something wrong with my heart. When my doctor told me it was anxiety, I didn’t believe him, but when the meds started working, I did. He put me on klonopin and Zoloft. I was on it for a year or so and weaned myself of. I was fine for a couple of years and then it came back. This time it returned with dizziness in addition to the heart pounding. I had a lot of shaking, too. I kept telling myself it was anxiety, but I still ended up worried enough to spend a day at the ER and then went back and saw my doctor and started the meds again. Once again, they worked. I’ve been off the medicine for maybe a year now and really hope it’s not returning again. It gets to the point where I can barely function and am afraid to leave the house.

Last night I got the heart pounding and shaking again, but I had a bottle of valerian root I had gotten a while back and took one tablet. It made me tired enough to get to sleep and today I’m feeling fine again.

And yes, if you know of anything I can take so I dont’ have to go back to the doctor again, I’d love to hear about it.

Thanks, AV – I’m planning on it!

Give this a try GD: it’s a natural remedy made by Hyland’s:

Calms for day time and calms forte for at night. It has worked for me. You can take as many as you like , usually I take 2-3. I have also taken it as a preventive, when I have a cold for example.

Locally I got it at Whole Foods, but sometimes it is available at a lesser cost in some drug stores.

    I hope this helps.

Have fun at your party tonight.
