Hey all – back in my nice cozy warm home. Kykat, nice to see you! Continued good thoughts for Gunter.
Comet runs around like a nut when I walk in the door, and flops down in front of me. No matter what the day brings, I can come home and feel loved 🙂
Great to see you KK! Aw, Comet w/scritches for sis Leela too!
Leaving you with this cold & fuzzy pic/LOL:
Cool fun even if it is a photo shop chop!
Soon to head outta here…it’s 0 in brewtown…may hit +30 by weekend, woo hoo!
Wishes for all to stay safe warm in Northern Hemisphere. Enjoy your Summer fun kiwis!
Ta Ta ’til t’morrow.
Hi Littermates!
I just made myself a coffee before sitting down to the Cafe only to find it’s a coffee Cafe. Yay!
Buttons, we use that saying here too but it’s another way of saying “I’m doing something you don’t need to know about” or “mind your own business”.
Fingers crossed that all goes well with the island visit for Guntar.
Brrrrrr some of you do have a nippy day don’t you. Yikes KJ, -30, i’m guessing that would be C.
Nirmal, eyelash icicles! !
It’s another sunny day here, I’m keeping out of the sun so I don’t burn to a crisp. Shadz has been outside somewhere and wandered inside for a good brushing and back off out to lie under her favourite shade tree. I’ve just been freezer diving for meat for dinner.
I love the Janitor’s Revenge vid.
Here’s another bit of nonsense to make you LOL and warm up.
Hi KYKat, great to see you.
Going by that poster JK Shadz loves me. Deb, I do love the bobcats.
That broccoli recipe works really well with curly kale but only bake for 10 minutes to get delicious green crispy kale chips. I do it without the garlic and add a light grating of Parmesan once they are out of the oven. Warning! ! very addictive but at least it’s healthy.
LOL at the Starbucks link.
Sounds even better with kale, MS. Like the rest of the world I am trying to get back into healthier eating. I am so ready for my farmer friend to have his micro-greens for sale. That is the start of the season and the beginning of farm fresh produce! All that being said, I’m not cooking tonight. I have to get my house clean for company and get the tree down tonight.
There is always a risk when selling off unwanted Christmas gifts. This one was a double unwanted. http://www.stuff.co.nz/national/9586096/Mother-in-laws-present-unwanted
My brother had a clean out some years back while his wife was overseas visiting family and took many things to the church shop. He never in his wildest dreams expected his own Mother would buy the portable record player which he then failed to see sitting in her living room for weeks before his wife returned home. First visit to the MIL and she spotted the record player and said “I have one just like that at home”. That’s when brother had to confess and also when Mum realised she had bought DIL’s record player. There was heaps of laughter and I think brother had to sleep in the garage for a few days. For some reason Mum never enjoyed that player much.
Yum!! That crispy garlic broccoli sounds too good!! Never tasted kale before but it’s readily available here so I might try a broccoli kale combo some day
…. Kale is wonderful! I use it a lot, either as a side (like greens), cooked with bacon/garlic/red pepperflakes…. or in soups and stews! Crispy Kale chips are easy/yummy too!
…. Cold here today, it’s only a high of 48 – VERY cold for Tampa …. brrrrrrr
I need to start eating Kale!! LOL
Very cold here about 2 degrees and the winds were horrible at work! WOW! Don’t feel them so much here, maybe cause of all the trees.
Just boiling some skinny little potatoes (fingerlings?)to eat with my fried eggs in a bit. Want to cook them before they start growing any eyes! Is it true that we shouldn’t eat potatoes that have eyes in them? Think I heard they are poisonous then.
Joan, you can tell hubby that I “know” people. LOL BTW how did Taz get his name, not from Tasmanian Devil I hope. I always wanted me a black kitty, but in my 2 adoption experiences the black kitties available didn’t want me. Not that I’m complaining. (If Dorry even senses this post it will go very badly for me).
Taz was my little girl who came along after my brother’s cat Aja, also a black kitty, died. She was indeed named after the carnivorous animal of Tasmania (not the cartoon character). She was a wild child and grew to be a lovely cat, but she was always up to something. I took several pictures of her on my wedding day – she was very good that day. Alas, she didn’t like life in the mountains and spent the rest of her days down the valley. My dad took a particular shine to her. Her ashes are on top of mom’s curio cabinet. Fitting, as she was always looking up, trying to get higher.
Joan, how curious. We had a wee black & white farm feral we rescued and named her Wild after her personality. She wasn’t with us very long either, cat flu took her. We did manage to save her litter sister Whitefoots, a dilute torttabby and she was with us many years and then spent her senior years with my parents and went over the Bridge at 18 years of age. Whitefoots was a wild child too and no rabbit was safe on the farm, she eased back to catching mice when she retired to the city.
I just went out into the heat, I thought at least the strong wind we have would help make the heat bearable but it didn’t. It still felt every bit the 28C my thermometre gauge says it is. Home and sipping a lovely icy iced coffee.
Brrrrrrrrrr well water in Winter.
i know how rude re-gifting is, but i’m so used to it in my family. i guess it counts as re-gifting…my besty sumtimes gives me stuff she tried but didn’t want as part of my bday or xmas gifts. the rest of my family is known for giving me used clothes and other stuff…but i’ve become ok with it. In fact i try to see which re-gifted stuff is cool, and which was re-gifted for a good reason. I forget exact examples, but i’ve had many a head scratcher…i think i was given a pair of boy’s underwear by relatives as a kid, although they knew i am and always was a girl. That may have been the wierdest.
yeah it was crazy. one more day of nut freezing cold. it’s suppsoed to start warming up again slowly thursday. oye catface had told me a story about how he n our cousin went to 7-11 (the convience store) years ago, in the winter, and apparently had walked or something. anyhoo, they had to walk home and their beards had icicles hanging from them. This morning made me think of that.
