What kind of mom is that, HM? Joan, what is your Mom like?

Belly rubs! Such fun. Nibs loves it and will flop over on her back if there is the slightest chance that she will get one. Nora likes them too but only short ones. Gem doesn’t seem to like them at all, I am still learning her likes/dislikes.

She sounds like she would be fun to hang out with. Who wouldn’t want to curl up by a nice fire with a book and some kittens?

Well. I am officially an idiot. This morning at the gym my sinuses really started to bother me and they were bad all morning, so at lunch time I ran into the store to get some meds. I was sitting at my desk a few minutes ago, yawning away, and suddenly I thought Hmmmm… yep, in my hurry I picked up the Nightime Formula. So now I am downing caffeine like crazy.

This sounds like a Stupid Teresa story.

My mom is a retired 2nd grade school teacher. She and Dad raised 5 kids (I’m the baby) in a modest, home-cooked dinner-on-the-table-at-6pm-sharp household and managed to budget for an annual vacation down the shore (that would be the New Jersey shore for those of you out-of-staters). She doesn’t wear makeup, and doesn’t swear or smoke. She’s beat breast cancer twice. Now she’s in Grandma mode, and has the candy dish and cookie jar to go with that title. She loves cats and backscratches (um, from people, not cats!). She’s toughened up a bit since losing Dad, but still very sweet. I stayed away from the Mother’s Day Sadness thread, but I’m happy to share her with all of you.

linda, Betty is starting to feel more comfortable, she still won’t let the other kitties near her, but she has stopped hiding..

That is good news, 2B about Betty. Joan, thank you for sharing with us about your Mom. She sounds like my Aunt Nancy. Aunt Nancy is my Dad’s sister-in-law. She and my Uncle raised seven kids (five boys and two girls). My Uncle was a doctor and Aunt a stay at home Mom who was the kind of mom who always had some sort of fresh baked something in the kitchen, home made meals and always seemed to take extra good care of me when I came to visit. She is the Mom I wish I had but they lived half way across the country so visits have been few and far between.

*note to self, DO NOT open canned cat food when nauseous*

It seems I have afternoon sickness/evening sickness no morning sickness. Okay, I am dealing with it. Asked hubby to get ginger ale. I went to feed the kitties and opened up a can of their food and thought I would lose everything I had in my tummy. I am a silly girl.

Oh poor CM. Vernors use to be a good drink to have if you were nauseous as it had ginger and a high amount of carbination which would break up the acid in the stomach. Hope you feel better.

Thanks SMM. I told hubby to get Vernors for that reason. So I hope it works. I don’t even want to make dinner or anything which is sad, since I love to cook.

Plus, hubby is not much in the cooking dept 🙂

Oh NO, NNM!!! Nighttime allergy stuff! Keep the caffeine coming!

The Bobster LOVES belly rubs! As a matter of fact, HM may still be rubbing his belly!!! He’ll lay on the floor, ground, whatever and just look adorable with his belly all ready for rubbing – there’s no resisting that!

Mi likes his belly rubbed when he’s sleepy. He often falls asleep at night laying in the crook of my arm, on his back, getting his belly rubbed and purring like mad! He did this last night, and at some point when I rolled over, I squoshed the little man, because I didn’t know he was still there.
