Ohhhhhhhhhh Buttons, great looking rug. Mr Noodles won’t disappear into the background of that. ๐Ÿ˜€
I’ve been checking the rain radar and todays wet stuff seems to be passing by my city for other places so maybe no rain until the weekend when we are supposed to get a lot more.

Catching up here while my brown rice simmers for dinner. Beautiful rug, buttons. Hope the kitties’ poop returns to normal soon.

Feel better, PG. Love the photos you added today!

KJ, ouch…sounds like a good reason for some rest and relaxation to me.

Joan it’s hard on the cats when our routines change, isn’t it? They love their routines.

Pretty sunrise pic, PC. I hope you feel better after a good rest. There’s something about the evening after a fresh snowfall. The skies didn’t quite clear today, but the cloud cover made for a very colorful sunset complimented by the snow.
Wind has kicked up again, guess it’s the blizzard’s final gasp around here. Feel bad for those who really got socked by this.
Oh, the pea soup is delish! It wasn’t quite ready by dinnertime last night, so I turned it to low and added water. We sampled some earlier and decided to have it for dinner tonight along with some bagels stashed in the freezer.
Ouch KJ, between the chair incident and the dentist, I hope you are doing relatively alright.
Buttons, I hope the fuzzies clear out their issues soon. Glad Messi is feeling better and looking for her raisins! Oh and that rug is AWESOME!!
Cheri, does Velvet visit you often? I hope so, I know she is your soulmate.
So the rain is not happening for you MS? Hope you get some for the ground to soak in this weekend. I know what you mean about having just the right amount and intensity of rain so as not to split the tomatoes.

Buttons, poor purries with tummy upsets! ๐Ÿ™ BTW LOVE the new rug, I’m sensing that not only do we share the same impeccable jewellery tastes, but also decor accessory preferences!
Yeah, fall was sort of “interesting”. Unfortunately R & R isn’t an option for me as I use spin classes as a major de-stressor, albeit I’ve crossed the line into realm of “too much” long ago. Which is why I call physio instantly as I would listen to her as a professional and need reassurance when G-d forbid mishaps happen. In this case I panicked as the wind was knocked out of me.
Just got back from dentist fun. He was debating whether freezing was needed for procedure so to cut to chase we agreed to just freeze it. Might not be so much fun when numbness wears off. But he’s the nicest, most gentle dentist I’ve ever had. As opposed to the guy I saw quite some years back, who maintained that wisdom tooth extraction didn’t need stitches, I went right back to work, was bleeding copiously into garbage bin, raced back and he put in stitches without freezing!!! Last time I ever went to him.
I should be considering dinner but don’t feel much like it. And early bed as another appt in relatively early am (not dentist LOL). Well, as numbness leaves my poor mouth, it will also leave my body. Supposed to snow a bit tonight, which generally bodes a much-needed warming trend as I can’t take these freezing temps, give me tropical heat/humidity/whatever anytime.

    Good evening!!
A guy I work with told me a sad story of his precious duck “Louie” (Louisa May Alcott). He used to have 3 chickens and the duck loved them. There is only Louie now. She had an operation due to her “egg” issue and pulled through fine. She desperately wants to become a “mommy” and the guy and wife tried finding her some fertile eggs, to no avail. Louie sits on her eggs faithfully, and “daddy” had to take them away finally. Louie was NOT happy with him. When you pick her up she lays her head on your shoulder and goes to sleep. (BIG AWWWW…) She LOVES daddy and follows him around the yard when he is home, and Louie has a nice cage with a little pool she stays safe in at other times. Well, the other day Daddy was working in the yard and Louie was following him back and forth to the house. Then, he didn’t see her and went to look. She was in her cage so he thought all was well. Then he saw blood spots in parts of the yard on the snow. If it weren’t for the snow he would have thought she was okay. He also saw BIG dog tracks!! He quick went to check Louie and she was all torn up (tears….:”( ) Her neck was a mess so he told his wife he was rushing her to the vet, which he did. Wife wanted to go, but he left too quick. Wife has many major health issues and was heart broken to say the least. The vet saw how bad Louie was and suggested putting her down. Guy said he will run to pick up wife who didn’t say good-bye to Louie. (I was almost in tears listening to the story…) I got to see and pet Miss Louie once. He went to collect wife and back to the vet. Meanwhile vet carefully checked over Louie and after seeing how terribly upset wife was, said they would see what they could do with sweet Louie. She was operated on and did well. She is still at the vets and wife calls them faithfully each morning to see how Louie is and guy and wife visit Louie every afternoon. Heart wrenching story…… Guy called Police about the neighbors two dogs and police went over to talk to said neighbor telling them that THEY are responsible for the vet bill!!!! Told the guy he can shoot the dogs if they come onto his property again. Dogs go in guy’s yard and growl at him while he stands in his own doorway. What if the duck was a little child? There are leash laws here police told neighbor. Vet pulled skin up over areas and did what he could. Louie even gets oxygen when needed. She breaths through her mouth a lot. I HATE thinking about it. Can you imagine the FEAR that poor little duck felt being hunted by two big dogs? AND she even got away?? She booked through that snow. Guy saw her tracks and how her nails dug in. It was so painful for me hearing the story…… Sorry such a long post… just wanted to share.

BB, I have tears in my eyes just reading your post about beautiful adoring Louie. I hope that she pulls through and can find trust and love again with her Daddy and Mummy and never has to be afraid of those dogs ever again.
I hope the owners of the dogs do pay the vet bills and keep their dogs tied up or behind a fence in future.

They might have to take said neighbors to court to make them pay…. but they WILL pay one way or the other! It is just SO wrong to let those nasty dogs run loose like that and almost kill a poor, loving, defenseless little duck in her OWN yard! The vet bill will be steep too! Serves them right. I feel bad for the dogs as it is NOT their fault……. I am so upset about this……. Prayers are welcome for sweet Louie! <3 Thanks!!

BB, tears in my eyes and a lump in my throat too. Poor little thing. Please keep us posted as to how she progresses. Having all kinds of unfluffy thoughts about the neighbors.
MS, I know how it feels to keep missing the rains that you watch go around you when you so desperately need them. I have always said that I can’t take days of endless sunshine, I need rainy days. Says something about my personality I guess, doesn’t it? ๐Ÿ˜‰ May you have a day of gentle, soaking rain that heals the land and refreshes the living things and produces fruits in your garden.
Buttons, what a beautiful rug! LOVE the color especially. Not good when a cat blends in to the decor!! Willow finds it especially fun to lay on the steps…not good when Meowmy gets up in the night to use bathroom. He just will not move. Funny about him, he will flop down right in front of you (and he gets himself stepped on sometimes) but it doesn’t keep him from doing it. He’s either extremely “slow”, or he doesn’t care. So frustrating, the other cats at least move when they see you coming. Hope you get their tummy issues figured out, and soon! I gave raw chicken wings to mine the other day, Willow is the only one who was interested. He enjoyed it quite a bit, after wrestling it all over the hardwood floor. Ew. Oh well!

BB, how tragic! Hope Miss Louie has a full and speedy recovery and can enjoy her life without being hunted.
Velvet was a beautiful cat, Cheri. Great that you have so many wonderful memories of her.

Oh BB ! Poor Louie ! Sending prayers now… I hope recovery is quick and neighbors get punished !

Lol KZ stubborn willow ๐Ÿ™‚ Noodle does try to get out of the way but he stands no chance with the black rug we have.. And he love lying on it.. I hate when people come over cause they REALLY don’t pay attention to where they are standing. Yes that is a nuisance with the raw food they always want to drag it around… Unavoidable really. Glad he likes the wings they will be good for his teeth. Some cats will only eat the wings if you skin them and cut them in half maybe try that with the others ๐Ÿ™‚
