Ha!
Of course if I had to sally forth to work outside in Siberian/Canadian Prairie weather I’d simply woman up and do it. As it is the closest bus stop is a couple of minutes from my house and a walk to the closest métro station no more than ten. Since I’m working at home and have a nasty sinus thing, I minimise outings in this deathly cold.
I’m not at all into shopping (no judgement of those who like it) but I do need a warmer coat so as not to have to pile on so many layers, and new waterproof, warm boots, not too high.
I bought a little sack of chickpea flour at nearby Fruiterie Milano. It is vegan, gluten-free (coeliac society approved) and kosher parve. And grown on the Canadian prairies. I’m making crêpes with onion, though not precisely the recipe below, nor as large:

This is vegan, high in protein and portable, and variations on it are made from the Mediterranean to South Asia. It can have fiery spicing or be perfectly plain; I like a bit of digestive spices such as caraway or cardamom, nothing too hot (you can always add a bit of hot sauce later).
