Supposedly there’s a huge number of beer can collectors out there. Collectors meticulously open a beer can from the bottom, empty it (and drink the beer, of course), then wash and dry it. For beer can collectors, there is no shortage of types of beer, cans and bottles, and sizes.

KJ, JJ, JK and any others in the path of the storm please keep safe and warm and don’t take any risks outside.
Still sending Healing Energy for KZ.

    Tks MS!

    “Extra hops” – love it!

So far no snow, but I can def see/hear the freezing rain and wind force. 😮 😥 Can’t see how pedestrians are managing as too early for others to be out!

So for first sortie it will be the srsly cleated rainboats and brollie. At least for 2nd sortie (dentist) I have direct bus basically outside door. I would arrive a bit early, but chatting with assistant about kits/knits is fun. She has two as M. Hubert (Tonkinese) and Mlle Cara (Cornish Rex Tortie – neat to see a kit with wavy fur – sorta like my hair texture before I do the straightening out tech.) 😉

Then it’s me in the big leather chair – not srsly stressed, it’s just fillings and good that he can do procedure in one appt. Dentist is so gentle and I’ll get srs freezing.

L8R. And as MS mentioned, JK, JJ, lagatta4, take care out there!

Good morning! Extra hops….hee. I don’t love beer but don’t hate it, just so so on it so I usually won’t drink it but will hold out for something I love like wine or a margarita.

I posted yesterday, but don’t see it. Maybe I forgot to hit submit….hmm. Can you hear me now?

So glad to hear KZ came through her surgery well. And hope the dentist goes well, KJ.

Lagatta, how could I have forgotten about you being in the storm area. My sincerest apologies.
ECB I can hear you. 😀
I don’t drink except on special occasions and I did have a small wine with Christmas dinner but not at New Year. Oops no I tell a fib,New Years Eve all my family living or visiting went out for dinner and I had an affogato with a liqueur that I can’t remember the name of.
It’s 1.30am and I am wide awake for some reason and not at all sleepy. Not good really. It is remarkably quiet outside even for the suburbs, all I can hear is the insomniac smoker across the road coughing as he sits on his back steps and a couple of cats fighting behind my house. I know I will have to fight for my bed when I return to it as HRH was already taking over. It is 22C so quite pleasant sitting here by the soft light of my fairy lights in the china cabinet reflecting off the backing mirror.

I love the beer can with the neko kitty. I’m really not a beer fan, though we have some very good beers now. There is one called St-Ambroise Oatmeal Stout that I love to buy, not to drink but as a basis for a braise. It is a dark beer like Guinness but I prefer our local one. About the only bevvie I drink is wine. Certainly not drinking anything but coffee if I should have to set foot outside today. I’m working at home (editing a research document) and bought cat food yesterday, and there is plenty of litter so I doubt I need anything.

I must have a bit of fever as I’m shivering though the heat is on and I have on several layers of clothing including a merino pullover and a thick fleece jacket. Common these days, and it is really weather for it – not at all cold by our standards but very damp with the freezing rain. I opened the door to the balcony off my office a crack and Livia jumped out – and started to skid, so she ran back in.

The redneck cat carrier cracks me up!
Take care, KJ and Lagatta, as the storm approaches. Good luck at the dentist, KJ, glad dds can do it in one sitting. Lagatta, take care. If you are coming down with something, purrhaps you can catch it early on and nip it before it hits full steam.
Hope you are looking at the inside of your eyelids at this point, MS.
I’m not much of a beer drinker either. Once in a while, maybe an ice cold beer on a hot day. To me beer is good for beer can chicken and beer cheese sauce.
The winds are still howling here, and it’s sleeting. There’s a good coating of white ick on the ground, but it’s getting slushy as temps are hovering around freezing. Last night I had to step outside to secure the plastic on a shelter, and four kitties immediately rushed out of their shelters, crying and looking for a snack. One by one they ate and hurried back to their shelters. Mama Cat was here late, so I’m hoping she is moving to my yard. I’m so happy when they are all accounted for.

Good Morning all! Thanks KJ for the message about KZ. SO relieved everything went well with her surgery. Hope she’s pain free from now on!
Everything is melting here right now. Called out from work as there was too much slush in here and very slippery. Roads weren’t that good either. We had sleet since 3pm yesterday, all evening, and into the morning, with a bit of snow on top of that. I was scheduled for a meeting at 9, but can easily be rescheduled. We all have to attend it eventually. It’s called a MAPS meeting… something about how to treat customers mainly, but has other info too. Heard you get a place mat type thing (MAP) with cards that we place on the map where you feel they should go. Sounds like fun. They also provide donuts in the morning and pizza for our lunch AND we get paid too! LOL 🙂 It’s also about “OUR PURPOSE” and the roll we all play in our work environment. One of the managers (he will be heading the meeting) writes a page each month in our newsletter about that, and it’s always interesting. He’s a teacher as well, outside of his job with us, and highly intelligent.
I switched to cheaper (telephone line) internet 3 months ago as the special for cable/internet ran out. The price jumped WAY up! Had lots of issues with the cheaper one, so had the guys here a couple times, trying to figure them out. It’s better now, but next week I’ll be going back on the cable internet/TV since I was able to get another “special” for two years! YAY! I had to wait 3 months before being eligible for another “special”. I thought I had to wait 6 months!
Trying to get motivated to cook or bake today, but I’m SO tired as I couldn’t sleep well last night worrying about the meeting and the bad weather and if I could get there or not……
I’ve been spending lots of time on this frugal food site on Facebook. I love it as it’s all about food and recipes! Love it! I have some new ones to try.
I think about you all every day! Sending love and hugs to you……

I don’t drink beer either – too foamy and don’t enjoy the taste.
Good to hear from your BB! That seminar sounds interesting – and you get noms and pay!
Lagatta, hope that you feel better and that whatever you have does not worsen.
Well today is proving to be a disaster weather-wise. Fortunately (as KJ lacks the smarts to do this on her own) dentist appt postponed ’til next Tues – they’re closing the office for rest of day. Of course if something goes awry with my teef they’ll fit me in before.
On way to gym early in a.m. I was petrified. Even with cleated boots I nearly wiped out twice. I would have done myself a srs if not deadly injury. I can break like a twig! And the wind pushing me was not apurr-eciated. 😮
Sheet ice on sidewalks, walked in middle of road, not much better. Peeps at gym told me they saw loads of accidents and I could hear the Urgence-Santé (911 crews) on their way to rescues.
But usual suspects at spin class. However I noted that for the aquafit class, which mainly consists of elderly ladies, there was like no one in locker room.
Coming home ice turned to maple- sugary snow and streets were passable. There could still be ice under snow covering though. But now I see that it’s worsening, my windows look as though I replaced them with frosted glass – sorta pretty, hmmm nope!

    I don’t – and I’m not! OK, purrhaps a bit jealous orangey!

So I’m going to cozy up for rest of day, knit, watch TV, whatever.

Those are some cool pics today. Look at the wee tuxie wearing that adorable knit hat!

I don’t drink the store shelf brands, anymore.

Colorado is big on microbreweries and they have some excellent products. Blue Moon (despite being a MillerCoors product) is really good. In 1988 Governor Hickenlooper and friends opened Wynkoop, the first Microbrewery in Denver. They even have a Microbrewery daily tours and they are booked all the time.

    Have a happy~

Hi guys! It’s been a while since I have been on the actual TDK site. I don’t drink beer, but I thought I would pop in for a nice cup of tea and if any of the Aussie’s will slide them through the worm-hole, a couple of Tim Tams! Today’s kit reminds me of my Gracie. She is also a dilute calico who shamelessly lies about her age. Even her vet can’t believe she is 15 1/2. She has the good health of a much much younger cat.

Anyway, I hope everyone is having a lovely day. When the going get’s rough, cuddle a cat!

MAPS sounds interesting, BB, plus you get donuts, pizza and $$, who could ask for more? Glad you opted out of going in this morning. I hate traveling in this weather.

Ooh, KJ, this stupid storm is a nasty one, isn’t it? I’m sure dentist and staff were anxious to close the office and go home.

KYKAT, nice to see you! Gracie defies age, it’s just a number anyway!
Tea sounds great, it is cold and raw here in Jersey. The snow and slush are freezing back up now that the sun’s gone down. My mom’s house is only about 12 miles away, but there is nothing down there! All in the elevation I guess.

Went to Shop Rite with my brother and sister today. It’s the store’s anniversary and 39 items are only .29 cents each! Because it was raining down there, it wasn’t as crazy as its been in past years. We have fun going together though. Things are clearly marked, but it’s still sort of a scavenger hunt and I came home with stuff I wouldn’t normally buy, so I’ve got some nice treats! A friend of mine buys everything and donates what she won’t eat to the food pantry.

Tea, hmmm … let’s wait and see just what tomorrow’s Café brings! 😉

JJ, what can you get for .29??? (asked hypothetically.) And here I think I’m doing brilliantly at $$$Store, where nothing costs $1. You scored well!

If rain freezes over in your n’hood, I suggest that you do what I’m not bright enough to do and stay in. Just spoke with N. who didn’t go into work as she couldn’t make it to the street from her entry!

Yeah, dentist and assistant (there’s just the two of them) were most eager to get home. Assistant was just making last phone calls to cancel anyone who hadn’t already cancelled.

We are now getting a sorta mini-snowstorm, although there could be ice under snow, so over-confidence is not advised. Seems that the weather peeps got their prediction a$$ backwards as we were supposedly getting oodles of snow and then purrhaps rain. And they get paid well for their guesswork.

Felt queasy all p.m. but a bit of a catnap, supurrvised by Dorry might have helped some. Then felt inspired to change up futon cover (as in I have a selection of plush throws) and related cushion covers. Gives the LR a new look.

    Checking back in briefly.
May I please ask for heaps of White Light and Positive Vibes at the moment, can’t talk about it but they would surely be appreciated.

Tons of white light and positive vibes coming your way, MS.

Oh, where do I start? Muffins, flowers, mushrooms, pizza, batteries, juice, bread, cheese, yogurt, ice cream, broccoli, cookies, eggs, cottage cheese, chips, fries, more cheese, sour cream, soap, diced tomatoes, sponges…
There is a catch. One must spend at least $10 on non-coupon stuff. No problem, a trip down the cat food isle handles that!
