Caviar is “supposedly” enjoyed by the upper classes, and classy peeps (that’s us!) and by extension kitties. And today being National Caviar day, there’s red caviar and black caviar, along with other colours at the Café buffet. Purrhaps we’ll do a taste test!

Good morning – I’ve never had caviar. Is it good?
Looks to be another hot day with storms possible. Yesterday we had a whopper of a storm, after which I walked back down to the pool to see if I left my glasses there. They weren’t, and I eventually found them in the kitchen under the butcher block. Aslan put them there, along with several toys.
After walking and lunch at mom’s, I have to get my truck looked at; it was fixed just over a week ago and now I’m having the same problem. I’d drive my car, but the a/c is hot. Then it’s up to the office again.

Oh no JJ, seems we have similar problems with young boy kittens making off with items and hiding them! Peso is seriously one of the orneriest kittens I’ve ever had!! He has every toy out of the basket each morning–I put them back in while he attacks me in the process–only to do it again and again. He always has a small stuffy in his mouth bringing it to me to play. 😆

I’ve never had caviar either…except on sushi and I like that so, I might like the expensive stuff!!

JJ, hope you get your car fixed finally and find out what the problem really is.

Avery is seeing her pediatrician this morning and hopefully they can devise a boot or something for her little foot. She is not used to just sitting or being carried around, but can’t put pressure on her foot. They fix adult feet, so they should be able to fix hers. A crutch is not a solution IMHO—it would be disastrous for the rest of us!!

The caviar I didn’t have much flavor but was very salty. Purrhaps the expensive stuff has a taste.

Traditionally, the term caviar refers only to roe from wild sturgeon in the Caspian Sea and Black Sea (Beluga, Ossetra and Sevruga caviars).
The most expensive of all caviar, and indeed the world’s most expensive food is ‘Almas’, from the Iranian Beluga fish – 1 kg (2 lb 3 oz) of this ‘black gold’ is regularly sold for £20,000 (then $34,500). Why Caviar Is so Expensive. … The roe that is used for beluga caviar comes from the beluga sturgeon, which is found in the Caspian Sea and the Black Sea. It takes up to two decades for the beluga sturgeon to reach its maximum adult size, with the heaviest weighing around two tons.

And that’s your history lesson for the day. No need to thank me.

But I want to thank you PG!
Caviar made from sturgeon eggs is def not kosher. I might have tried the kosher version made from salmon roe at some point. Also recall it being quite salty, and I tend to drain tuna (even low sodium variety), salmon as I’m not into salty tastes.

KZ, I would think that they would have some type of boot for Avery, considering how active kiddos are.

JJ, glad that you found your glasses, so frustrating when one searches high and low with no results. So joyous when one finds missing item!

Srsly hot today, with heat/humidity, like 40C. I like it (prob ’cause I can escape into delicious A/C). Of course as expected peeps who moaned about Winter are now moaning about Summer. *Sigh*

Must now see what’s happening at Comet’s partay. Remember, JJ, Dorry assures me that the “fun” starts wen kits turn 7 yrs old. “Fun for whom” I asked him. He just snickered.

Glad that in a week stylist appt should get my DIY cut back in order. It’s not all that bad as even in 3 days it’s grown some.

This pm it’s 6 mos. dental cleaning/check up appt. Not a total joy, but must be done.

PG 😛 I have heard that caviar is salty and figured it must be used in the preservation process, but don’t know if it tastes fishy or not.

Avery is back with me and is in good spirits, her foot doesn’t hurt as much as it did. She must have pulled something but didn’t break it, still won’t walk on it. Hopefully, in the next day or so she will be back to herself and able to play on two feet again!

Hmm…Caviar, tried is couple times years ago…not my fave but maybe café kittehs can enjoy special treat on Comet’s purrday!

    But…found this!

    vegan caviar
    🙂
The taste of luxury is now cruelty-free with Caviart, a vegan-friendly, seaweed-based delicacy.

Whilst relaxing on a chaise with a glass of Veuve Clicquot, one is wont to have an accompanying snack of equal refinement. As a vegan, foie gras is off-limits (and quite reprehensible), but caviar is no longer just a fish phenomenon. Top your cashew-cheese crostini with a sprinkle of Caviart.A seaweed-based substitute! Must see if local Veg Friendly store/s have this to try for special occasion!

Warm July day…spotted today…pretty day – awash in sunshine & color!

Caviar tasted like salty fish. If you put salt on canned tuna or salmon that’s it. I like fresh fish esp. grilled.

My gang have a box of toys and I usually return them…if I can find them. If not a day or two later all the toys have reappeared.

We’re only getting to 98f/36c for the next three days. The weather peeps are threatening rain over the weekend. I wouldn’t pay much attention but my neighbor is having a new roof installed so she said it’s definitely going to pour.

I’m not sure if my Lilac shrubs are going to make it. It’s so hot, dry and I had no where to put them that had shade. I’ve put a white sheet over them but I think it’s the heat, not just the direct sun that’s killing them. 😥

I’ve had the vegetarian caviar made from kelp. To me it tastes just like the fishy variety.

I do like salty things but realise that too much salt is bad for the health so am careful not to indulge in them too often: olives, cheese, vegetarian caviar.

    I do eat fish.

Once, when going to study in Italy, I was bumped into first class on Air France from Mtl to Paris (at the time, it was much cheaper to arrive in France and take the train to Italy, and I had friends to see in Paris). We had the choice between caviar and smoked trout, which I much prefer. But the real luxury was the seats that opened out into a proper bed space. I arrived in wonderful shape in the morning, as I’d actually slept.

Unless you are among the .00001%, the stuff in sushi is called lump, from cheaper fish.

KZ, good that Miss Avery is handling her injury like a trooper. Better than many adults would deal with it, myself in purrticular! 😉

Back from dentist. Thank G-d it was just for the check-up/cleaning. Teef feel so good after!

It is stinkin’ hot out – for peeps who have a prob with this, myself not included. But as I keep admitting, the A/C kills off the humidity and yeah, I really like this.

Yeah, I mentioned this prob in Comet’s b-day thread. Also site seems to be a bit slow in loading. Thought it might be my browser.

Well, felt “compelled” to “Live Life to the Fullest” which for me translated into (yes, again) online shoe shopping! Well for $30 pr, and considering that they had my way small size, could not say no. Did cull purchase from 4 prs down to 2, and if they don’t work I can return them to store. I actually “need” these colours and they look quite comfy. A little re-arranging and they will have a home in shoe/handbag closet.

I absolutely adore caviar! I have a famous restaurant in my city, ‘Berns’ steakhouse that has hosted a few presidents and they have the absolute best! Plus they make their accountrimunents in house ….. truly stunning ….. rivaled ‘ The Peat Inn’ in Scotland for me! ….

I love it as a topping on deviled eggs …. with cream cheese on club crackers, it’s beautiful for me.
