If there’s a day to celebrate and to make resolutions for the upcoming year, then there should be a day to ditch ’em. Today’s the day!

I never make New Year Resolutions, but perhaps I should make one to call in to TDK more often . . . then maybe I won’t keep on being told I’m logged out!

Does ditching a non-resolution count the same as ditching one that you’ve made? Oh dear – I think I’m confusing myself now.

Snarky kits – Telling us we need work. 😉 I don’t make resolutions. I’ve learned that I won’t stick to it so why bother?

Since Dorry gave the mattress topper his stamp of apurrval, it must be good. What’s the point of having a new, cool washer if you’re not going to wash stuff?

KJ-Back in the day when dad was teaching me all about football (mostly to keep me quiet) the top teams were Pittsburgh Steelers, Minnesota Vikings, Miami Dolphins, Oakland Raiders, and Dallas Cowboys.

I detest the Cowboys and most people hate the Raiders. I went with the best Pittsburgh Steelers! I also had a crush on Terry Bradshaw who was the QB.

Sorry your tummy is in turmoil, AV. It’s seems to me the Gasparilla events come earlier every year.

Mr. JJ is a closet KC fan? The horror! 😮

I may go swimming if I feel better. As much as I love coffee, I guess I’ll have to do without for awhile. *sigh*

    Cya l8r and have a happy~

Oh, cute snarky kitties today, indeed! No new year’s resolutions for me either.

So we (and the sellers) finally signed off on post inspection agreements last night. Hopefully it will be smooth sailing til closing (mid Feb.) We’re excited and scared at the same time. Home ownership is such a big commitment…but feels right for us. Buttons, how exciting that things are moving forward for your new home too!

Hope AV and PG are feeling better today.

Morning all! …. I actually do feel better today, ate minimally yesterday, bland stuff and drank a gallon of water … Honestly, I think it was some hot wings we ate with Son over the weekend (really only eat junk stuff when he’s around) …. hope yours is doing better too, PG!

Yes, Gasparilla is early this year, most of the time it’s mid to late February, but this year it’s the last two weekends in January. This Sat. is the Children’s parade – fun and family oriented …. next weekend is the sit on my porch with the hose day, but I also cook hotdogs/brats all day long, as we have many drop ins for our annual porch party …. can’t go anywhere either day, so you can fight it or join in the fun …. I choose the latter 🙂
The shed is all secured for Miss Caddy, so I’ll catch her early in the morning, and she will spend the day/night there to be safe …. this weekend will be very warm – 80 degrees, so everyone will be in shorts … no sure about the next one, but it’s always better a little cooler, as those pirate costumes are hot! ….. but then again, those guys are so lit, they probably don’t even feel it! LOL

Son, Dau and SIL are all in DC for the inauguration ….. how fun the they get to attend these extraordinary galas and balls! …. I live vicariously through them! LOL ….. I’ll be watching on TV to see if I get a glimpse !

Busy day for me, I’d best get started. Have a great one all!

Another reason I love this place–no one makes New Year’s resolutions!! I have never made them, why start now?

It’s raining here again–and mid 50’s for January–I’m just glad it’s not snow or we would have many feet of it here by now and wouldn’t be digging out until April. Or May. 🙄 It’s dark and cozy inside though, and I may rethink getting out of my bed that I left Avery in….

    Later guys!

I went back and read the end of yesterday’s cafe– hope all of you with tummy problems are feeling better today.

MS, you and I might be sisters somehow as I would probably pick up a opossum by it’s tail too but would drop it fast if it tried to raise up to get at me!! I wanted to sympathize with your poor aching knees and the bursitis–as the ortho doc told me the reason the ‘outside’ part of my hip was hurting due to the fact that I was walking ‘wonky’ and it is bursitis there that is hurting. It ain’t no joke, that crap hurts!

ECB congrats on your new home!

Phew, finally making it into café! Inet was down 1-1/2 days…no one was able to stop by yest due to MLK Holiday. Guy just left…all but 10 mins to get back up! LOL

Hmm, NY Resolutions…well, I’ve been sticking to mine as to eat less white sugar/processed crap plus less Gluten and as always veggie friendly. Yup, it’s basically for my health/feel better & it is working so I won’t dump ’em. Do enjoy Calvin/Hobbs humor so that was a treat!

Seems as if Tux is still at his fun/games as café mascot…
    tuxie fun
    Mwah, missed ya kit 😀
OK, hopeful will be back later…

PG, tks for “Steelers” fan explanation. Even I have heard of Terry Bradshaw and any player who is “easy on the eye” would IMHO be sufficient reason to cheer on the team. 😉

KZ, similar weather in my n’hood – but snow expected starting this pm. Looking outside now grass is visible. Must be on my guard as it will cover the icy patches that are still there.

ECB, nice to hear that things are moving along (pun intended) towards home ownership.

Paws up as one who does not bother with resolutions – revolutions would be more apropos in my case hehehe! So many times have I determined to get to bed earlier and take better care of self that it is becoming boring. Might happen – or not.

Just finished up text as part ongoing project, so up to date so far as it goes. Excellent spin class. Appt this pm for 6 mos. dental cleaning, as some of us mentioned, teef feel so good – after! 🙂

So just got back from dentist. Teef do feel ever-so-clean! Only glitch is return visit next wk for 3 fillings. 🙁 Oh well, at least the work is being done before these teef start troubling me. And prior/after the work, assistant and I chat about kits and knitting.

Hi all – I don’t really make resolutions, just strive to be the best person I can be. I did make one many years ago that I’ve pretty much kept: Whenever I’m standing in front of the fridge with the door open wondering what to eat/drink, I close the door and drink a glass of water.
Woo-hoo, congrats on signing the agreement, ECB! Best wishes that things sail smoothly.
*Pictures AV on the porch wielding a hose. Heh.* The children’s parade sounds nice.
Ok, CWS, your resolution is to come to the TDK café more! See you soon!
Nice to have fresh clean teeth courtesy of your hygienist! Boo on having to get fillings. Hubby and I tried out a new dentist last month. We don’t have insurance anymore so we opted for a “new patient special”. Now we have to decide whether to stick with the new guy or go back to our other dentist in five months.
It was a rainy day here in Jersey. Like KZ, I’m thankful it’s not snow. Spent the day down at mom’s; Tyler was decked out in his Snoopy onsie and socks, adorable! His mom freed him from the socks fairly quickly, as it was warm in the house. Mom, being 90, is always cold and keeps bumping up the t-stat. Tyler runs very warm to begin with!

Good afternoon from the hot and windy Antipodes, well my part of them anyway. The southern parts of the country are being pummeled by a very nasty deepening weather low with extremely high winds and torrential rain. Some cities have even taken some of the public transport off the road because of the expected high winds.
Woohoo ECB on the post inspection agreement singing. Paws crossed for further Positive Vibes.
AV, best of luck with all the Gasparilla celebrations. You are an old hand at them now really. Wow the three kids all get to see the inauguration.
KZ, I’ll swap you some of your rain for some of my heat. LOL at the possums and us. We’re careful in our recklessness. Yes the bursitis does hurt especially when I don’t rest which sadly I don’t get enough time with my feet up having to help Mum out on a daily basis. I think I will have to drop a hint to my brother who lives locally that he needs to help out too.
    🙄
Waving to JK, good decision on what to eat less of.
KJ, teeth so smooth and shiny sounds wonderful but 🙁 🙁 🙁 on the fillings.
JJ, Tyler’s clothing sounds so sweet.

JJ, actually my dentist does the cleaning as well, with his assistant helping out on more complicated procedures. The one I used to go to would have hygienist do cleaning. She was always on time. Then I’d sit and wait like a 1/2 hr for him to breeze in and check her work for like 2 secs – in between patients! No time for questions or anything. Worse still, he would diss his female assistants in front of patients. Grrr! So glad I switched and wonder why it took me longer than it should have.

I got rid of my insurance as well. Did the math and realized that I was paying out more than I was getting back. And for major procedures ie implant, they would only cover percentage of extraction cost and like, I am not one to walk around with a space where a tooth should be!
