This Special Day is for displaying our pearly whites. The dentist is an important person in keeping one’s smile bright, and one’s teeth and mouth healthy.

Except that our teef are the only body part NOT covered under our otherwise exemplary health insurance… Strange.

Cats need teef cleaning too, sometimes…

Dentacare would be a nice thing. When I had insurance the amount they paid was a joke! Especially on major procedures. After figuring out that I was paying insurance more than what the reimbursement I cancelled it.

I brush Dorry’s teef efurry day. Only pawsible, I think, as I started when he was a wee kitten. And he likes the taste of his special toothpaste. Vet sells a brush that’s like 2 ft long, so one doesn’t have to get too close to kit’s mouth. But Dorry’s fine with a soft baby brush from $$$Store.

I’m getting my teefs cleaned on Thursday. I’ve never brushed my cats teefs. Thankfully, they all have healthy gums and teefs. Miss Gaea may need a cleaning this year. Once every 9 years or so is pretty good.

I have a doctor appointment in the morning. Whee! The wind has finally died down. It was a cold wind, too. Brrr

    Have a happy~

Good morning – I don’t brush kitties’ teef, but they do floss when playing with a string toy or the window blinds…

No dental insurance here either, but hubby and I are due, so it’s a necessary expense.

Gearing up for another nor’easter tomorrow. I feel bad for folks still without power.

Running dangerously low on outdoor kitty crunchies – must get to the store today!

We try to do the semi-annual dental checkups. Fortunately, neither of us have issues, so it’s reasonable upkeep. Poor Abby has had teeth extractions twice! Apparently Siamese are know for their bad teeth. The first time they pulled 7, as she had quite a few double (one tooth grows behind another), I think she was about 6 a the time. Then when she was 12 (2 yrs ago), she started getting inflamed gums again and I told the vet, pull everything that needs to come out, cause I won’t put her through this again. I think she’s got about 6 teeth left (vet said she technically didn’t need any), but she has no problems eating, and certainly is happier with no mouth pain!

The other girls seem to have fine teeth. Little Ve has another allergy episode coming on, her skin is getting bad and I’m finding little tuffs of fur around. At least it’s been long between episodes, and I’m hoping this won’t get full blown. Hopefully it will turn the corner, it looked this morning like she was starting to heal, so I’m keeping all paws crossed. I think the lysine is helping stave it off .

Stay safe and warm everyone, and I hope you don’t loose power. Have a good one all!

Dorry (who turns 8 yrs young 2morrow) has not needed any dental work thankfully. Vet of course examines his teef at annual check-up and commended me for doing a good job. My teef on the other hand get cleaned 2x/yr and I just went through a couple of wks of fillings. ๐Ÿ™

Just saw some pics of posh “executive” gym health club. For sure it looks like a posh spa. But $600 xtra for: sauna/steam (which I would not go near); Towel service (I can bring my own); posh lounge w/TV (my style is to do class, socialize some, take nice ht shower, get my look together then if so desired go home to my own “posh lounge” LOL; coffee (can make at home); bagels on Sunday am (same thing.) Wood appointments and supposedly Zen vibe (not with some of the snobby members and Zen is so not me). I am happy with the cleanliness of general locker room and my huge locker. $600???

Now I think that a catnap is in order. Did some course work and feel a bit de-stabilized from various stuff. Bit of rest might just help just a bit.

Good morning all. It’s a wet but muggy day and oh ! the sun has just come out. going to be uncomfortably humid I would say. HRH came in for breakfast and then was back out into the rain as fast as she could.
No dental insurance here either and spent a fortune lately at the dentist and have an appointment this week to get a tooth I broke 10 days ago or so seen to. I can feel the bank account quivering already.
We don’t brush Shadz teeth, it wasn’t something that was done when we got her long ago and we’d need danger money to do it now. Not sure how many teeth she has left but the v-e-t has removed a few over the years.
PG, hope the Dr appt went well. I love the wee kitty in the warm bed. At the moment I would love a cool bed as it’s too hot during the nights still.
JJ, hope the new NEer tomorrow doesn’t bring so much damage. When we get a NEer here it normally comes with rain and it will generally be three days of rain, just one of our local weather quirks.
    JK, great snow globe cartoon.
    ๐Ÿ˜€
AV, fingers crossed for Ve’s skin allergy to be short lived this time.
KJ, I agree why pay for it if you can make it or you won’t use it and you can have the most wonderful wood appointments and Zen vibes in the world but they’re nothing if the people around them aren’t right.
