Hey. I’m wondering what kind of treats can I give my senior cats that was just diagnosed with early kidney disease? I bought all kinds of treats for my cats for Christmas before she was diagnosed and I feel bad giving them treats when I can’t give kitty any. Ideas would be great

I’ve never gone in for the little “choc box” kind of treats for my cats. What I will do for them is just give them their very favourite kind of meal – even if it’s too expensive to have regularly, I’ll get it for special occasions.

My eight year old just adores tuna loin. It costs a bit more than his usual meal, but he loves it so much that afterwards, you’d never believe that bowl had had anything in it! (There’s a mackerel version available too, but we haven’t tried that yet.)

Something like that – good, solid fish or meat – will be much appreciated, I should imagine, and as long as you make sure it’s suitable for an older citizen, you can be sure it’ll do them good.

    Best of luck!
