    Who in their right mind would call those girls ‘too ugly.’ They’re beautiful, Tigerlilly.

    My aunt lives on a cul-de-sac that is a favorite “dumping ground” for unwanted kitties. Whenever a new one shows up, she takes it in–the screen porch is just for cats. She has never had fewer than 10, with gusts up to 30. My favorite? When the number of cats was reaching its upper limit, and a new black cat arrived between the time my uncle left for work (he has never been a cat lover) and the time he returned at the end of the day. His response? “Another cat? Dammit!”

    Dammit became his name for the rest of its life!

    They are NOT ugly!! My sister has a tortie that she named Scrap (for “just a little scrap of a cat”) because she was so tiny and pretty homely too–but she stayed tiny and became beautiful and oh what a personality!

    Thanks everyone. I will read these posts to the girls later, as I continue to reassure them every day that they are my beautiful princesses, trying to build up their self esteem issues after they saw the rest of their family find homes quickly and leave my little ladies behind.

    2bpurring, I’ll tell Mickey how you feel, but as you can see from his pose, he is one self confident young man and knows that he is it!!

    Ginny…I remember the story of Dammit from a past story you shared with us. I loved it then & still do.

    I’ve also never met any kitten,let alone a tortie,that wasn’t beautifully purrfect in every way.

    Hahhaa! I just read Ginny’s post about the cat named Dammit…My mother once had a kitten who was typically always in some kind of trouble..It too was a black kitty and was eventually named Dammit because everytime she turned around and found another episode of mischief, the first thing out of Mom’s mouth was “Dammit”…

    There are three cats, all belonging a very nice lady named Yoo-hoo, Woo-hoo and Boo-hoo. I would love to be there when she calls them all together.

    Tuttibella. that’s funny. It reminds me when Meow Meow (named by my then 3 year old son) lived outside in the woods (before we captured him to live the life of a king inside), and I would call him out my back deck to come for dinner. What must the neighbors have thought…

    I know what your talking about!!! i have four along with three kids, two dogs and 70 pet mice!!!
