Joni makes me think that the 7th of November was also the one-year anniversary of the death of Montreal’s Leonard Cohen, and many events and commemorations.

Love the above pic of a tortie, she has captured the dappled tortiness so well.

Lotte Laserstein also did this wonderful self-portrait with a (tabby) cat. Great portrait of the cat too.

    http://germanexpressionismleicester.org/ImageGen.ashx?image=/media/1135/1001_self_portrait_with_a_cat.jpg

In Weimar Germany it was common for “emancipated women” to crop their hair short as Lotte has. You will see that in many expressionist paintings.

https://www.huffingtonpost.com/tom-christie/lotte-laserstein-berlin_b_4351939.html The dog under the table is also very much an individual, just as the humans are.

On this day in 1923, in Thebes, Egypt, English archaeologist Howard Carter enters the sealed burial chamber of the ancient Egyptian ruler King Tutankhamen. Because the ancient Egyptians saw their pharaohs as gods, they carefully preserved their bodies after death, burying them in elaborate tombs.
