In case you didn’t get that today is Cheeseburger day. Cheeseburgers have been around as far back as the 11th Century when the Mongols carried flat patties of meat on long horseback trips. The Mongols would travel to Moscow and the idea of a flat patty of meat spread through the city and was eventually brought to Hamburg, Germany by sailors. From there, it spread to New York and the meat patty became known as Hamburg Steak or Hamburger. Letโ€™s eat!

    Your table is beautiful AV.

I finished mowing the front and back lawns, I’m tired. So I’ll sit back and watch some more of the Strain.

PG, thought it was my way old browser not allowing me the pleasure of seeing your pics. I think it might be a Photobucket prob. I had some probs w/Photobucket some time ago and Plan B’d it to tinypics (subsisdiary of Photobucket BTW.) Hopefully it’s a quick fix.
But here’s the “definitive” explanation of ICHC, courtesy of Wikipedia. ‘Cause without ICHC, TDK might be sorely lacking in terms of pics. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I’ll take my cheeseburger in it’s veggie burger form, my kitchen not having been privy to meat in approx. 10 yrs!

Though I haven’t played Scrabble in a long time, I presume ICHC has changed the rules quite a bit!
Hubby and I had cheeseburgers for dinner! KJ, Hubby had a black bean burger the other day and said it was really good. Even I think I’d like to try one!
Love the ICHC “musical” – lots of classics!

Worse JJ? Scrabble competitions that are? NOT played the way scrabble is. That’s just crude. PG? I had no clue about mongols and beef patties. I only know Yurts and throat singing which you have to hear to believe. It’s Than. Google that. Photo bucket? I don’t even know how these things are done. I just know with this second tablet the camera works to take pictures. Wish someone would teach me the rest. Love the adorable pictures everyone posts. And? Cheeseburgers are unkosher. I’m a vegetarian anyway. Milk and meat thing but Yuri still gets his yogurt. Russia imported beer from Germany. From Communist times a lot of Russians get drunk on Vodka all winter. They’re trying to control it but I seems endemic. He USSR did this to its own people, sadly. Nature is tough on Russia. In Siberia the snow piles like Buffalo but its worse and all of Russia is freakishly cold all fall and winter.

    Hi MS *waves*
I find myself awake at unprecedented early hour – well then it’s back to bed for 5 hr catnap before alarm goes off.
JJ, intrinsically real meat/real cheese burger would def be unkosehr. But here it’s veggie burger (kosher); topped with cheese (kosher) on roll (kosher). And there you have it! Prob genuine meat lover/eater could taste diff, but I care not at all. ๐Ÿ˜‰ ๐Ÿ™‚

Good evening all, finally made it into the Cafe after a busy day. we spent most of the day very carefully downsizing a large tree next to the house with phase one successful and no damage to the house. HRH was not at all pleased with the noise of chainsaws and beat a hasty retreat to the furthest corner of the property.
PG, no idea why your pics are only coming out as links.
Awwwwwwww Basement Cat has a soft spot.
Good morning KJ, sounds like it’s waaaaaay to early for you to be awake. Hope you can get back to sleep.
We had chicken burgers for dinner. I was so tired from the tree work I bought a hot rotisserie chicken and some small buns and made burgers for dinner.
Just relaxing here and watching movie – Pitch Black.

Oh, I agree, that last pic of the little baby with his legs in the air is squeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!! KJ, I don’t know why but your posts only show up as links on my puter too! …. Yesterday, I used photobucket to post my fall table and it seemed to work fine, so I’m not sure why you’re having issues. Maybe you can email their tech support?!
    Morning all!
I love cheese burgers, and make them every which way from Sunday …… I use ground beef, ground chicken, turkey & sometimes lamb …. I love it all! …. One of my favorite burger recipes is the old ‘Crystal’ or ‘Whitecastle’ one – it works great for feeding a crowd, and is super easy – you just take a large sheet pan, spray it with cooking spray, press ground beef on it in a big flat rectangle and sprinkle with toasted onion. Bake at 400 for about 20 min. Pull it out of the oven and lay squares of cheese on top (I use cracker barrel pre-sliced), then put heat on broil for 2 min. until cheese is melted Cut them in squares and I use Hawiian rolls as buns and top with pickle. HEAVEN!!! …. and hungry millenials and teens can eat a truck load of them!

Not feeling up to snuff today, Mr. AV came back from Delaware with a sinus cold, and I think he has shared it with me ๐Ÿ™

Looks like I’ll be making soup today, and maybe a pot of herbal tea …. have a great day all!

Morning everyone! I am being a lazy bum this morning…may carry it with me all day!!!
Yum AV, I just may have to try the ‘buttload of burgers’ recipe (my name of the recipe not yours) ๐Ÿ˜† as it seems I am feeding many more these days as opposed to just Mr. KZ and I. Everyone would love those for sure.
Sorry about your cold…seems everyone around me has had one lately, I have dodged the bullet so far. Soup would be good for sure and good for the soul!
LOVE last kitty pic too, and I have no words. I would definitely have to snorgle it’s tummy and put kisses on that tiny face.
MS, good to hear the tree has been downsized with no damage to house or to those who downsized it. Mr. KZ bought a new chainsaw last week, a boost to his morale and now he is looking for stuff to cut! Nothing worse than a man with a new piece of equipment to wreak havoc on the countryside with. I don’t buy his tools (unless he picks them out) and have told him not to buy me kitchen equipment unless I have told him what I want. I have no clue about his stuff and he has none about mine….it’s better that way!!

LOL @ KZ ….. Mr. AV and I are the same way – I wouldn’t dream of picking out a power tool for him (or a golf club), and he doesn’t buy me appliances (that I don’t need or want, like a waffel iron LOL!) ….

PG’s pics are back! Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sinus cold is so not fun. Hope that you feel better soon AV.
Oooh a chainsaw KZ – KJ would like one for cutting street find shelves into manageable decorative sizes. Surprisingly those who know me feel this would be a very bad plan. You have to see me with a reg saw to understand LOL.
And efurryone needs a day to just chill, so do what you like, even if that’s nothing at all! ๐Ÿ˜‰

I can see them too! yay! ….
Thanks for the get well wishes, I hate being sick, I’m the worst kind of patient!
Mr. AV and handy Scotty are doing their usual weekend HIP projects, today was installing a water purification system under the house ….. it will get all the water before it comes into the plumbing system, so the dishwasher, washing machine, all sinks & showers will be clean …. should help a lot with my sensitive skin issues ….. Caddy has been ‘helping’, as she can access the under the house crawl space from her studio, so she keeps a stealth eye on them LOL

I just watched Ree Drummond make cowboy fried rice, and it looked delicious, a nice twist – I might have to try that this week, Mr. AV loves Mexican flavors ….

Basement cats have soft spots! I absolutely have to kiss them jelly beans on the wee kit and love the my cheezburger not done!

That’s an interesting way to make cheeseburgers. I would’ve never thought of it. Of course, it’s just me so that might be why.

There is nothing worse than man with a new tool and no where to use it. I don’t need to see you with a saw-the mere thought sends shivers.

School’s in season so the cold germs abound. I discovered I don’t have to be near a child. The germs seek me out-rly!!

I just finished my lessons in History of the Holocaust. I’m also taking a course in Magic in Medieval Times. Coursera is great with hundreds of different subjects and free. Well, some you pay for if you’re looking for a speciality program.

Gotta go-My beloved Pittsburgh Steelers are playing-Cya. Have a happy~

Don’t know much (anything) about football PG, but hope your team wins big.
History of the Holocaust – very heavy topic. I studied it with goal of being museum docent and didn’t follow through. Have no personal family history/connection, but still, at the time couldn’t see myself giving tours and keeping myself together. Magic in Medieval Times – now that’s a KJ sorta topic. Do you now know the secret of turning base metal into gold? If so, feel free to share! ๐Ÿ˜‰
At risk of sounding very June Cleaver/Donna Reed, I discovered Drain/Spin cycle on new washer! Used it after hand-washing pure wool knit sweaters and all the water miraculously got sucked out. With nary a change to sweater’s proportions. Now a slew of them are happily hang/flat drying, and much faster than previous. Without the unnecessary wringing out workout which still left slippery drips and did not do my wood floors any favours. Oh the conveniences of modern life!

The new machines are quite wonderful on the spin/dry cycle aren’t they? I also have a speed wash cycle that comes in handy when Avery gets her “Taggie” or “Spotty” blankets dirty and I need them as soon as I can get them!! Usually have Mr. KZ take her for a ride in the gator and then I (and the washer) work our magic.
AV, the water purifying system sounds great. My son-in-law (his family is into the softener and purifying business) installed a reverse osmosis system just for the refrigerator (water and ice) which I didn’t think I needed, but it is really wonderful water. Living in the country you never know what kind of water your well will contain. We are very lucky as it’s the best water anywhere. Some are cursed with iron, or sulphur or both, but ours is clean, clear and odorless. The softener takes out the hardness and the RO system seems to make you WANT to drink more water. Hope it makes a difference for your sensitive skin.
Well, off to putter around and do nothing!!! YAY for me!!

Hi everyone – just got back from niece’s baby shower. I was the recording secretary of gifts and chauffer to mom. A bunch of us are getting together at niece’s place on Tuesday to put stuff together. The oak toy chest I got for her is too heavy to bring into the restaurant, plus it’s not assembled, so I’ll do that on Tuesday. I also got her a bunch of tye-dye clothes. First baby for niece. Got a lot of loot! Little Man is due October 23, I’m secretly hoping for the 22nd, niece is hoping for the 19th.
