    I was just wondering if you all had any pointers for helping your kittens learn to lap up formula and canned food. The main issue I’m having is that my 4 week old gets formula Everywhere . Is that just something we deal with or is there a shape/size dish that encourages cleaner feeding?

    Hi Tammy. At 4 weeks of age kittens are just learning to eat from a dish. Some kittens that is, as a lot of them aren’t ready to even try. I think it depends on the kitten. Expect for it to be messy, as most usually stand and walk in it if you don’t keep them from doing that. I have made a gruel and cut the end off the nipple for kittens not ready to lap yet to make sure they are getting the proper nutrition. Older kittens who are ready, just usually make a mess of it! 😉

    I started using a smaller dish for the formula and things are going much better. She is really getting the hang of things now!
