    The UN declared this day The Global Day of Parents. Naturally, that altruistic goal is meant to recognize all that parents do. Ours is not on that grand of a scale.

    Good morning – may I have some of that famous TDK white light? I haven’t seen Dewey since last evening. I last saw him sitting in the chair outside but it was too early in the evening to make him come in for the night. Of course now I wish I had. I saw him heaving what I assumed was a hairball but on looking later there was nothing there. There was some yakkage on the back step and a spot of blood nearby. I didn’t associate the yakkage to Dewey, even though there was a little right in front of him on the chair. I associated the blood to a wound but found no other spots. Now I think the vomit & blood came from Dewey.
    In other news, Berta is favoring her left hind leg. I see no visible wound, and hope that maybe she just had a bruise and also hope she stays around so I can keep an eye on her.
    Star and Huey have checked in, for which I’m very thankful.
    There sure is a giant downside to caring for outside cats.

    JJ, sending white light to you and Dewey. Yes, there is the worry part of caring for outside cats. I have had to doctor open wounds that would make an ER doc swoon, give meds by mouth (thanks to whoever invented the cat pill popper), and of course the feeding and sheltering in all kinds of weather. I hope he comes home very soon, and of course if he has some kind of boo boo, that you will be able to care for him easily. I always had wonderful outside male cats, but others that would wander in would sometimes want to fight for territory and be mean and nasty. I always tried to run them off even though I knew they needed love too, but if they were going to be hell bent on fighting, then they had to leave.

    PG, the pics today are so cute, thanks for opening the cafe while KJ is on leave. How is your leg?

    Peso is doing well and is probably going to graduate from his crate in about a week. He has the run of the house during the day, but I put him in his bed in his crate at night along with his litter box. During the day he uses his favorite big cat litter box, so he knows where it is. He doesn’t eat on his own yet, even though I put kitten chow out…he just hasn’t made the connection yet on what it is!

    Heya JJ, all our thoughts and prayers go with you as you wait for your special boy to come back home to you.

    Even our barn cats back when got into a ruckus or five over the years, even as friendly as they were with each other. Wounds heal, fur regrows, and our kids come back around when they feel. Hoping that’s the case for your boy, and he’s begging to be let back in the door when you see him next.

    I love poppies JK!! That pic of brother cat and Pokey is adorable…I don’t think Grumpy is mean at all/she can’t help how she looks! 😆 That pic of everyone in the red turtle necks is interesting, and those kinds of pics make me howl laughing! We all have some pics that are hilarious from back in the day…

    Hi guys. Thanks for all the pics today. I love the two “wrong size” kittens in the shoebox….such a pretty color.

    I’m saying a prayer for Dewey, Joan. It must be so hard worrying and waiting.

    My cats might stage a revolt. I got rid of the last of the cardboard boxes sitting around the house today! Woo hoo! (Okay hubby has some in his office and garage, but that’s his domain). They are doing the backsplash today…looking good. Grout and other finishing touches tomorrow. Should finish right as the inlaws arrive. My poor cats…moving, renovations, now house guests. Luckily it will all be over soon. Hopefully their relationships will recover. Time will tell, but I’m worried, of course.
