Thursday 28-08-14 – The Café’s Up for Race Your Mouse Day

Good morning KJ. Love the mousie theme and I’m sure the agency kitties do too!
The gift one reminds me of Comet’s reaction to hubby tossing a mouse outside. He lunged to the door but I stopped him. He kept looking around, wondering what to do. Mentioned to hubby that if he tosses a mouse outside, do so when no one is looking!
I’m super busy these days, so not much time to post. Next week may be a bit scarcer, as I have some lunchtime commitments. So I’m off to start my day. Leela and Comet say, “Meow/hello TDKrs!”

Morning KJ, Joan ECB! I love the theme too, although have only caught mice in the basement and cats aren’t allowed down there. It’s a cellar really in this old house and the only way to enter is through door outside. Why don’t the mice make it upstairs? Even my outside cats don’t mess with them much, too well fed I guess. If they catch them, they don’t eat them (thank goodness!!) but leave them for me to see, usually on the door mat (like kitty above lol) or by the car where they know I’ll see them when I get in… 😯

Hey it’s still August & kits have brought in some pretty glads to share in the café today:

Glads usually bloom later in August around here…know there are versions that bloom earlier/depend on weather zone!

Cowboy Casserole
Ingredients:
1½ lb ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped
3 cloves of garlic, minced
1 can (15.25 oz) whole kernel corn, drained
1 can condensed cream of mushroom soup
2 cups of cheddar cheese, shredded
½ cup of milk
4 tbsp sour cream
1 bag (30 oz) frozen tater tots, (ore ida crispy crowns work nicely)
Instructions:
Defrost the tater tots on the counter for about a hour before preparing casserole.
In a large skillet cook the onion until translucent. Add the garlic and cook for one minute more. Add the beef and cook over medium heat until no longer pink. Drain mixture and set aside in a large bowl.

Hiya all. Skipping in for a milkshake – strawberry is my favourite. Dru can catch up with the cafe kits and maybe learn a little about mice. I am so torn when Louis catches mice. He is so proud but they are so tiny and pitiful. He always has a good roll on them, to flatten them out a bit….
I bought the book about raising kittens, someone posted about it somewhere- can’t find it now. Dru has been a major learning experience for me (the small princess executes the perfect curtsy at this point and hopes the other kitties are impressed). Lolz- I need all the help I can get!
I am getting an early start on the weekend by taking the day off tomorrow. Some paperwork to do, but nothing too taxing. I plan on a bit of shopping. Was thinking about some warm, soft blankets and found myself wondering which colour would suit Dru best (obsessed much?). Happy Thursday everyone, it’s the gateway to the weekend:)
