    But seriously …
As the saying goes “Friends are the family you choose.” I for one am extremely grateful for my TDK family!

Good morning! I love my cousin (all my cousins but I’m closest to one). I lived with my aunt and uncle for four years in high school so this cousin is like a sister/cousin. She is 8 years younger than me but now that we are adults we are peers and talk all the time. It’s good to have a great friend who knows firsthand how wacky your family can be. :).

Looking forward to signing our lease this morning. Should hear from our movers today with some idea about when they can get our stuff to us.

Thanks, KJ. I’ve said before how special I think the new tiger exhibit is at our zoo. Well, it is featured in an article in the wall street journal about the trend in zoos to build upward and have animals walking through tunnels overhead…

(Tried to link the article but when I tested the link it said you needed a subscription…oh well.)

Thought it was interesting. I’m a zoo lover! And the big cats are my favorite. There is one zoo where the cats can take a tunnel to other parts of the zoo to check out an interesting smell or sound. Very cool. And it makes you want to go back to the zoo frequently because every time you go the tigers are doing something different and interesting.

Morning EC and KJ! …… I also love the ‘big cats’ ….. here in Tampa, we have the Big Cat Rescue, which is one of the best facilities for caring for tigers/lions/bobcats, etc. in the nation (possibly the world) ….. it was started as a place for retired circus animals to go, but it takes ‘pets’ that get cast off, or really any big cat that can’t released back in the wild ….. it’s a great place to visit!

….. yay for finding a place, EC! …. hope the lease signing goes well, I know it will be a relief for you to get settled, I’m sure the kits will be happier too!

….. going to be a busy work day for me, hope everyone has a productive Thurs!

Good Morning KJ & ECB! I’ve got lots of cousins, some I’ve never met, some I know from the 1 family reunion on my dad’s side back in the 80s. Grew up with 2 cousins down the street, actually my mom and their dad are cousins. Girl cousin and I were bff’s thru tyke days till about middle school. Both our names start with a J and we loved to trick substitute teachers, Girl Scout leaders, etc, by switching our names! I have a few iconic pics of us. We were Raggedy Ann and Andy for Halloween one year and another pic showed us sporting our brand new Jungle Habitat t-shirts. Boy cousin was the one who married hubby and I. They both live in North Carolina and now it looks like Aunt P and Uncle J are moving there to be closer to them. Mom’s street (she’s known as the Mayor of “F” Ave because she’s lived there the longest) will never be the same. They’re in their late 80s so I understand why kids want them closer though, plus they will be able spend more time with the grandchildren, who will have the chance to get to know their grandparents better than the occasional visit. Downside, wonder if I’ll ever see them again…

ECB, I love hearing about the zoo you visit! If I ever get to J-ville, I’m looking you up and we can all go! Best of luck with your new place. It will be nice to get the cats settled in to their own place too.

We think Comet’s dealing with an elusive mouse. There are lots of places where it can go that a cat can’t get to, but Comet is usually very patient and will camp out where he last saw it and when it’s whiskers take a peek out, POUNCE! I hope the gang didn’t disrupt your place when they visited Dorry, KJ.

Morning (afternoon) all. I’ve got loads of cousins the world over (mainly Canada and Australia and I’ve never met them.
I was talking with my mum about cousins and all the definitions (first, second, third, etc and once, twice and so on removed) and it made my brain hurt trying to figure out who is what to whom 😀
If we are related somehow I just call them cousin.

Good morning Joan, KM, ECB, AV, and KJ! A beautiful, sunny, cool morning here after yesterdays humidity and drizzle. Hopefully it’s on it’s way to you Joan! The windows are open and breezes blowing making the kitties happy and plugging my nose, but I’m still not closing the windows!
Daughter went to work late today, feeling better with lower blood pressure and sleeping well overnight. I have got to get to work on the spare room, cleaning out closets and setting up the crib again for new baby. I know, I have waited too long but now with this scare it reminds me how much I have put this off.
I have many cousins, was close to one while younger in grade school but not so much anymore. Everyone is scattered all over the country and we only see each other at reunions~which we have been good at trying to have at least once a year.
ECB, so glad to hear of your signing and being able to be on your own. Nothing like having your own place with your stuff and kitties. People talk about some animals being territorial, I think people are too.
Gonna grab another cup of coffee, and start the laundry. I’ll pop back in later, everyone have a great start to their Thursday!

We had a family reunion once n I didn’t know this girl was my cousin. She came up n starting beating up on me. I ran to my parents crying only to find out she was related. She grew up to b this heavy set motorcycle piercings all over kinda boyish scary looking henchman of her mother. My other cousins were never close. I’m not that close to Catfaces cousins although one is always around but I’m trying.

LOL Nirmal…that’s why we choose our friends…not family!
    Here’s an informative chart:
    Relatives - cousins
    Cousin, cousin once removed…second cousin…LOL
Since we are all family here our kits are just furry/purry cuzzins 😉

Time for a warmer of java…back I go!

Aha, I see tequila on the other thread – taking a virtual swipe along with a few real deep breaths. Re, project: Doing something right sometimes takes a bit longer so as one can check to make sure it’s done correctly. However, it’s not fast enough. Doing something quickly and not checking it or returning it to the condition it should be can result in errors and not to satisfactory standards. Can’t win, sigh.

LOL at Nirmal too, and JK is right about choosing friends, not family….
Joan I think you may be right about that nesting thing….LOL, great way to look at it!

JK, you got that one right about family vs. friends!
In to say hi/bye ’til L8R. Appt, then might “have” to buy more shoes online as mega-sale – Naot shoes (my faves) $39 – hmmm … now where to put them should I decide to buy them. Decisions, decisions! LOL
