Morning all! Great job on the pics KJ and MS! ….. I actually have a pillow that says ‘spoiled rotten cat lives here’ …. and the kitty in curlers cracked me up!

I’m winding down toward the wedding trip ….. we leave exactly one week from today ….. Mr. AV and I bought new suitcases (we had ours on OUR honeymoon), so we should have plenty of room to pack what we need – all the changes of clothing, shoes, accessories, etc ….. I have a list! …. fortunately, my dresses are all soft body hugging type of fabrics (i.e. cotton lace and jersey prints) so they won’t wrinkle. Mr. AV’s suit and dress shirt is my biggest concern, the rest of his clothes are kaki pants and golf shirts (which also don’t really wrinkle) …. good news is, the hotel suite will have ironing amenities, and I’ll have both his mom and my mom (both champion iron-ers) with us, so we should be fine.

Dau is excited and nervous at the same time, but basically floating on cloud nine. Mr. AV and I had watched the Steve Martin ‘Father of the Bride’ a while ago, and bought the DVR for Dau & Fiance who really enjoyed it. Last night, we watched the original one with Spencer Tracy and Elizabeth Taylor, and I have to say, it was just as funny and enjoyable ….. Mr. AV will definitely have tears of pride/joy in his eyes on the big day, I told him I was going to hide a handkerchief in one of the pockets of his suit ….

Well, I best get to work on my few remaining files that I need to publish before we leave, have a great thursday all!!!

Hi all – love the wee kitty in the big bed, and the kitty in curlers is funny!
Nice to treat yourself to new luggage, AV. Although we have a newer large and small suitcase, we both have ours from before we were married. I need precise lists for important trips too, adds to the excitement.
Miss Leela is painting her claws hot pink. Comet and Mac are getting into pink day by painting one claw on each paw!

I was about to say good morning, but just noticed that it is noon. Great pics today! I love the wee kitty in the big bed and the kitten protective of his pillow….cute! Another great crossover pic, MS.

Took the boys this morning for their annual meeting with a certified teacher to make sure they are learning something. :). The requirements for homeschoolers to document progress for the state of FL are very reasonable (not burdensome) in my opinion and prevent the occasional case where someone says they are homeschooling but are just neglecting their kids. The paperwork is signed and I just need to mail it in to be legal for another year.

What a fun time for you and your family, AV!

    Hi Efurryone,

    Happy Thursday?

Yesterday was an interesting day for me. I had my EMG evaluation on my nerves. I have severe carpal tunnel in my left wrist/hand (which is my dominant hand and I have moderate CT in my right wrist/hand. Flexor carpi ulnaris in my right wrist is more damaged then in my left wrist. My doctor is evaluating the results.

In the evening, I got a call from a animal hospital in Colorado Springs saying the found LilBit. I went to check and he was sleeping on my bed. So we went round and round until I finally took him to Petsmart and checked his microchip. Imagine my surprise when I learned his chip is different from the one on file. Eventually, we found out the adoption rescue group didn’t put my name/LilBit’s on the correct chip. Home Again said their will contact the group have the chip transferred to me. I’m going call tomorrow to make sure all it correct with LilBit.

I left my shoes in the middle of the floor, tripped over them and jammed the last two toes of my left foot into a cat tree. I used a whole lotta bad language. This morning my foot is swollen and bruised and I can’t move my toes. I used ice but it was a bad hit.

Outside of that, I’m good and love the pink and diva theme. The house built for cats and the cat with curlers are fabulous.

I made some brown water this morning and was upset the it was in my coffee pot. 😡

Those fabrics is the best for travel, AV. I can imagine how proud Mr. AV will be walking his daughter down the aisle. It brings tears to my eyes.

Surely your boys learned something because they have the best teacher. No teacher loves and has patience for students like their mom. 🙂

I’ve never been accused of wearing Rose tinted glasses. I’d like a pair of the prism ones too!

Does anyone have the guts to put nail covers on cats?

Well it’s getting overcast and I’m going to join my kits for a nap.

    Cya and Have a happy~

I’m glad the homeschool rules are reasonable, ECB. From the snippets you share it sounds like your kids are doing very well!
Oooh, pink lemonade, the purrfect patio drink.
Sister and I had lunch at a nearby restaurant, scoping out places to have a baby shower. I’ve been to this place several times over the years for retirement parties and post-funeral gatherings. It’s an established Italian restaurant. The owner is always present, and she’s all Italian, so you can be sure she knows her stuff! Even though she was busy with a function, she took the time to outline party services.
Well, it was supposed to be a rainy day, but other than a little sprinkle it’s been dry. Time to get the hose out and water the garden!

    Hi Leeny!

So strange about the microchip, PG. Glad it’s getting straightened out. And ouch on your foot…and your wrist. Is there anything they can do for carpal tunnel?

Joan, Italian food sounds delicious. I love it, but I love most food. :).

I’m making chili tonight…one of the new recipes I played with a while back…beef with a bit of cocoa. Strange, I guess with the weather so hot. But chili is so delicious and nutritious….I can’t just limit it to winter…especially here where we don’t get much winter.

    Sorry about the toes, PG!
Yay EC, certified for another year!
Joan, I’m sure Miss Leela looks smashing with her pink claws, and the boys are having fun with theirs!
    *waves* at Leeny
JK, that pink lemonade looks SO refreshing!!

*sighs* ….. MIL (memory issues) had her credit card compromised yesterday …. of course we caught it, as we pay the bill and review the transactions on line every morning. Had to cancel it. She had just gotten back from a trip to Savannah, and charged at a few restaurants – I think crooks target elderly people, thinking they’re not tech savvy and won’t track their charges on line. We only give her one card at a time, so I called her and told her I was going to come get the compromised card and give her another one that is good. I got there and said ‘get your wallet out and let’s swap out the card, and I will take the old one to my shredder’ …. well, she couldn’t find her purse, much less her wallet …. and her place was a wreck! Clothes everywhere, stacks of laundry piled up …. purses strewn all over, tables covered in papers – so out of character for the neat nic she’s been her entire life …. anyway, we turned the place upside down – nothing! …. so I told her – take the rest of the day, and if you can’t find it, I’ll have Mr. AV come tomorrow and take you to get a new driver license/id (recall we fly in a week) …. Sure enough, I got home and a couple of hours later she called, said she had hid her purse behind the sofa and forgot it. (Why, I have no idea) …. so at least we don’t have to get a new id, but I’m gonna make sure she has it and maybe collect it a couple of days before we leave ….. I hope this trip goes better than the last trip we took with both grandmas …..

OMG PG, I don’t want to sound preachy, but out of concern, have you had your toes checked out? If G-d forbid they are broken, well not much to do except time and wearing sneakers when one can wear shoes again. But if there is a something that can be done, you might want to at least get some medic to take a look. I’ve done the smashed toes thing, and it’s a real sucky injury. 🙁 My BFL has carpal tunnel andshe’s supposedly getting some sort of brace to wear both day and night I think, at least at night to start. I do hope that you have something for pain relief.
Me and rose coloured glasses? I’m with you PG, in fact I could win the Cynic of the Year Award. Or am I just a realist? Hmmm …
Well here’s some Thurs pm synchronicity. Street find season is officially in full swing. Found me a framed print from an exhibition by artist named Bryan Chadwick. So looked him up and …

“His first public solo exhibition of paintings was held in 1993 at Barcelona’s Els Quatre Gats, the venue of Picasso’s first exhibitions.”

Venue name in English is “The 4 Cats” Interesting? I think so, plus it’s an awesome print.
Now must head on back out or someone will not have canned noms for tomorrow and it won’t go well for me. 😮

Good afternoon all. Late to the Cafe today. Took Mum’s cat Snuggles for another glucosimine injection for her arthritis. When we got back Snuggy sniffed all around the door suspiciously and growled. We assumed another cat had been around for the 10 minutes we were out. Sure enough a short time later a beautiful ginger cat appeared in the yard and Snuggy shot out the door and escorted it loudly off the property. Not bad for an old girl with stiff joints. We have sun today so I have been washing everything I can as we have more rain ahead for some time. Clothesline is now full and washing is flapping madly in the wind.
AV,the days are passing so quickly aren’t they. So exciting.
ECB, I have decided that since yesterdays cross over pic happened by accident that I will try and find a suitable pic each day. I realise that may not always be possible but it is fun thinking laterally and looking for the pic. Flad that you are all set to teach the boys for another year.
JK, great glasses although the prism ones would be difficult to see out of I think. Mmmmm pink lemonade.
Wow PG, LilBits chip was a different number. That is not good at all. Definitely check that they have transferred the data tomorrow. I wonder who was missing a cat then. Your wrists/hands sound painful, I hope they come up with an effective treatment.
OMG, I just read what you did to your toes and I swear my toes curled up as if I had done it to them. OUCH. A whole lotta bad language always eases the pain at moments like those. Arnica cream or gel will help with the bruising and maybe even the pain but perhaps you should get the injury checked in case you have broken your toes. Love your pics.
JJ, fun scoping out places for a baby shower.
    Hi Leeny.
AV, stress you and MIL don’t need, glad you can get it sorted quickly. Good idea about collecting her ID a dew days before travelling to help things go smoothly.
KJ, that is synchronicity about the street find and the cats connection. Maybe all roads lead to cats, it seems they rule the internet.
