Date Nut Bread – a tasty and popular holiday treat. However, the kits heard “Date” and really got into it. Enjoy!

Crossover pic(or as close as I could get it) – Summer Solstice bread.

Wow what a day, did the shopping for Christmas dinner(s) and after going to several different supermarkets I think I have everything I need. Raspberries cost more per ounce than gold so had to get frozen raspberries for the filling with whipped cream for the sponge roll. Otherwise we are set and can fake it if anything has been forgotten. The KK family arrived up mid afternoon and are settling in with Mother. Oh BTW Mum turned 95 on Summer Solstice (yesterday or your Today and your Winter Solstice).
Had to laugh, HRH Shadz came in late late lastnight and raced upstairs and into Airy’s bedroom and on to the bed and she suddenly stopped and just looked at Airy for a moment and then was right in to taking over the bed for the night. Seeing Airy didn’t even phase her.
Time I decided what we are having for dinner although it is still very hot and we don’t feel like eating just yet. It has been an uncomfortably hot day.

I love Mr. Spazzers and Miss Gaea loves string too. A match? hmmm
    I hate fishy breath!

That’s funny about HRH. I though Airy was her favorite person and now, she’s taking over the bed.

Be there, done that-that’s all I have to say about dating.

All the kits are finally full and down for their evening naps. I’m finishing “The Man in the High Castle.” This is the 2nd and last season. I have to re-watch some because I see new stuff.

    Cya l8r and have a happy~

Good morning – so Mr. Spazzers doesn’t like Bob Barker? Must be because he’s always talking about that pesky neuter thing. Oh the kitties love that fishy breath – humans, not so much!
I haven’t shopped for raspberries lately, will have to look at prices to see if they are expensive here too. Happy b-day to your mum, MS! Sorry it’s so uncomfortably hot. Looks like we are all headed into the extreme temp season. I’m thankful it’s not extremely cold here today, chilly and seasonable I can handle!

Well, I’ll have to say that Mr. Spazzers is more appealing than some of the so-called “dates” that I have had the misfortune of going out on. In my previous place I could see the entry from bdrm window. So when date rang doorbell I got a “preview.” More than once I wanted to to answer and sadly say that I’m KJ’s roomie and she had to tend to some important thing and she’s so sorry! I’ll stick with date bread and Dorry as male companion as in “been there, done that.” And done with that! πŸ˜‰

Winter wonderland in n’hood – snow globe effect. So much prettier when admired from indoors. But not overly cold and I’m headed out into it again.

Late into the cafe today, whew, I have Avery AND Zoie here today, which is youngest of the oldest granddaughters. πŸ˜€ But, she is helping me with Avery so it’s great!

The weather here is quite balmy, probably around 30* which feels like a heat wave. It would be nice if the ice on the driveway would melt, because it’s like an ice rink. Quite scary for anyone trying to walk on it, and I made Avery wear her helmet the other day and it’s a good thing too because as soon as her foot hit the ice she went down. It was kind of funny seeing a pink clad unicorn trying to get up with pink flashing boots. (Her helmet is a goofy looking unicorn.. πŸ˜† )

Well, best see what these kids are getting up to–when I come upstairs, they go down and vice versa. Probably raiding the pantry again!!

Good morning all. I am getting in early as I have a day of cooking and who knows what else ahead of me.
I will pass on all your Birthday Greetings to Mum, many thanks.
Lagatta I knew that Solstice bread looked familiar but couldn’t figure out why, thank you for solving that for me.
JJ, we do get hot from now but February is the worst month of Summer, very hot and very humid weather. We had a good heavy fall of rain this morning, it woke me pounding down and I smiled because I won’t have to water the gardens for a couple of days now. I will turn the fans in the general direction of the US to keep your weather at reasonable for Winter level.
    Waving to JK and Brutie.
KJ you had me LOLing about wanting to be KJ’s roomie, I think we have all been there at some time or another. I recall hiding in a wardrobe once while my brother told some story about me not being there. I’ll stick with Mr MS, he has his faults(don’t we all) but I’ve got used to (most)of them. πŸ™„ πŸ™‚
KZ, fun day at your place with two granddaughters, at least the older one can help with Avery. Ohhhh your driveway sounds quite nasty with the ice. What a wonderful image I got of your pink unicorn with flashing boots levering itself up from the frozen ground. Great idea about the helmet.
HRH woke earlier and went outside for a’walk’ then back in for breakfast. It rained again so she headed straight up to bad again and Airy decided if Shadz can do it so can she. HRH has just reappeared as the sun is now shining so I think I will go and roust Airy out too and we get into the kitchen cooking.

Please add our Birthday Greetings to your Mum’s lorry-load, MS! That’s not a bad score she’s collected, so far.
