Moon Day commemorates the day man first walked on the moon in 1969. Do you remember watching it?

I remember listening to the moon landings as we stopped a double math lesson to listen. Bliss.

AV, I read that your son had won a fellowship. How wonderful. Congratulations to your son. This is how you and Mr AV must feel.

The next storm has hit here, we have light but very wetting rain here and HRH is inside tucked up asleep and gently snoring beside me. She wanted to sleep on me but that wasn’t going to work for me.

I was 7 so I’m sure it didn’t interest me. A brilliant accomplishment but it’s a shame we’ve never gone back. We “beat” the Soviets to the moon and that was that.

I’m reading we’re all dealing with the heat. The problem with running the swamp/evap. cooler is when the humidity gets above 50% it’s not very effective. With the dry air, the evap. cooler puts moisture in the air and is great though. I’m watching “The Edge of Tomorrow” about the world covered by ice sheets because of climate change. I’ve seen this quite a few times.

We’re swimming tomorrow. It’s funny how I complain about the cold water but with this hot days, it is welcome.

Cya Bye and have a happy~

Good morning! LOL at the pics today. I love the kitty with the space helmet over its face and the one awaiting launch in the trash can…too cute.

It looks like I missed both PG and Comet’s birthdays recently. I hope they were both very happy!

I’m lucky to have some time to get some things done around the house today…looking forward to it.

LOVE the pics of the cats with the moon, so mysterious and comforting at the same time.

PG, I love swimming in cold water when it’s really hot…but I guess the water just feels really cold because it IS so hot! ๐Ÿ˜›

MS, hope you are weathering the storm well, and hope you have gotten over your crud. HRH sounds as if she is feeling better too and that must be a great relief!

ECB–hey girlll!! Good to see you here!

Good morning – I’m a moon geek for sure, making sure to wink at the moon when it’s full. Dad packed the television for the family vacay down the shore in ’69.
I too am annoyed that we haven’t gone back to the moon, and upset that we didn’t have a replacement in place when the space shuttle program was retired.
    *steps off soapbox*
Hey, nice to see you, ECB! I figured you were keeping busy. Hope you are enjoying the summer and that life is treating you well.
I didn’t go walking yesterday and today. With an air quality alert in place till tomorrow, it doesn’t seem safe, not to mention uncomfortable. I’ll go up to the office for a while, then hopefully get to the pool. I did a few laps yesterday, which I feel, and I’d like to do more today.

Just got back from li’l walk…cleared up now sunny & humid!
Yup, typical Summer’s Afternoon…feels like a perfect day for Beach visit…but, here I sit on day 4 part 2!
Only 1 boss/purchasing – shipping in house…2 on vaca…salesman not in house either. So, officemate & myself are running the Front End, (as usual!) Said we should put it on our resume if ever need! ๐Ÿ˜€
OK, no more subtle complaints ’cause it’s almost Friiiday!

Afternoon all, hot and super muggy here ….. humidity is in the high 90s …. it rained around noon, so the rest of the day was like a steam pit ……

I’m making cool greek salads for dinner, just can’t think of eating when it’s so hot ….

one more day til the weekend yipeeee! Have a good one all!

Steam pit/monsoon here too! $$$ Store must have made a killing as we had several unexpected downpours. And now I have 5 umbrellas!

I find the Moon fascinating too! Was at wretched country place when moonwalk occurred and even though we watched it on our dinky TV, I can’t say that I was all that engrossed.

Strangely I got a delivery notice card from post office. Checked with customer service and it’s not the 2 prs of shoes that I’m expecting. I think that they might have gotten it wrong as I did not order anything else. Purrhaps Dorry placed an order? Well it should be in for p/u tomorrow.

Knitting Circle is cancelled for tomorrow, so I can sleep in a bit and go to noon spin class. I so need some xtra rest as I’m a bit under the weather, stomach is not being cooperative. Thing I’ll head off and take a soothing bath and try for an early night.

    I’m here finally.
The storm raced over us last night and it is now pounding the
Sth Island with torrential rains, snow and floods.
We have a cold day and regular rain with some heavy falls and possible hail later. KK and I hit the gym this morning to beat the blues.
JJ I have to agree with you on why no more moon visits, but I guess it was just a case of lets beat the Russians there. As for no shuttle replacement, that was difficult to figure.
I love Wallace and Grommet. Did you know the actor who voiced Wallace passed away on June 2nd this year. He was a firm favourite of ours in a wonderful TV programme called Last of the Summer Wine that ran from 1973 to 2010 and as Rat(voice) in Wind in the Willows.
KJ, maybe Dorry ordered some nip.
Awwwwwwww Nurse Fluffy Butt. Too cute.
