Those kits have gotten into the holiday spirit and when not about their regular tasks have been rehearsing for hours on end. With Tuxie leading the chorale we can expect plenty of caterwauling as the furries *entertain* us with their “improved” carols. They’ll be going from purrson to purrson so please bring treats. Chef Kitty has brewed up a mighty strong wassail, and the fountain features hot buttered rum, mulled wine and whatever. Then there’s the homemade festive cookies (tks JK for Crafts Café pics but hopefully not the ones “improved” with the “kitteh hair” LOL!) plus muffins with green and red icing … interesting.

Hi KJ, adorable pics – Grumpy Kitty especially made me giggle.

Comet will join the catolers today as he knows many notes. They may not be the right pitch and may hurt your ears a bit, but his heart is in the right place.

As for me, I’ll try some hot buttered rum.

Phew thank God the Cafe is open 🙂

We’re all escaping to te cafe as KJ suggested .. Good idea KJ.. Thanks for the concern you guys 🙂

Deffo need protective vibes for the next few days more storms on the way so I’m gonna avoid the road as much as possible .. We were very shaken and Buttons was pretty scared I had to make a little cave for him with his favorite jumper and scarf.. All the doggies were good too thankfully I had the kennel door closed over with insulated PVC strips so that’s kept them dry and out of the wind 🙂

So we’re buckeling down the hatches again and praying the mobile holds up it’s done pretty well so far and my friend is prepared for me to arrive at hers with buttons and Nutini at a moments notice just in case..

This has deffo made us think of our house and I think we’ll be starting the build sooner rather than later just pray the mobile holds for another year and we avoid the worst of any storms !!

Hi Buttons – How scary 🙁 Stay safe and vigilant. Glad you are able to virtually stay here so the agency kitties can keep an eye on you. Sending whatever you need thru the wormhole as well as good vibes for strength and safety.

Thank you so much Joan .. A few of the kitty’s just arrive with some candles in case they’re needed later.. And I’m gonna see if I can get one of them to get me a cuppa joe 🙂

Making sure my phone is fully charged the whole time in case the electricity does go an at least we have a gas stove so dinner by candle light would probably be a nice change for Mr B and I 🙂

Good morning all! Can’t wait to hear the caroling kits. Buttons, it’s calm and sunny here, wish I could send some of it your way: as Joan says, stay safe! Our house has a wood burning fireplace, and it’s definitely come in handy a couple of winters when we lost power: at least we had heat and light, and could’ve probably grilled hot dogs if needed!

Sending the “TDK” comfort blankie thru the wormhole to you as well, Buttons. I’m sure I don’t have to tell you to be careful with the candles, but, please be careful with the candles! Over here we have candles that come in glass jars and even have covers that allow the candle to burn without allowing the flame to get too tall – very cat-tail-and-whisker friendly.

Hi PC! *waving* I have lots of treats for the cat carolers and am looking forward to their visit.
Our woodburner has come in handy over the years too. Last year after superstorm sandy, it not only helped to heat the house and add light to the room, we heated up soup and pierogies. Many years ago, there was a nasty storm on Christmas Day, complete with thundersnow! We had to go down the mountain to visit our families, but made the visits short, as we were concerned about getting back up the mountain. Even with 4 wheel drive, heavy snow can be tough to climb up a winding, weaving road. We got home and as soon as hubby got the woodburner going, and I came in from feeding the birds, the power went out. The four of us (hubby and I as well as Shaddo and Jiggs) huddled around the fire and enjoyed opening presents, although we couldn’t throw paper around for the cats to play with since we had candles burning. We had ham sandwiches and beer that we stuck right outside the back door in the snow. We joked that if we had a generator we would have only used it to light the Christmas tree, and maybe a ceiling fan. It is fondly referred to as “our redneck Christmas”!

When I was in college, I commented once that I’d like to spend a summer completely off the electric grid: candles for light, no TV, etc. Never did it, and now not sure I could: I’m too addicted to my technology!
I burn my candles on the brick hearth of the fireplace, just in case. Had friends that had a fire due to candles they thought they blew out but weren’t quite extinguished.

I have gone to LED candles. Ever since Sophie caught her tail on fire I decided kitties and flame don’t go together. I love the comforting heat of wood stoves. Now I have one of those little heaters with fake flames that I enjoy when I need extra heat. The pets really love it. Prairecat, I used to dream of living out in a cabin in the woods somewhere, I never did it either and somehow over the years it has lost its appeal.

    Hi all *waves*,

Buttons, I’m adding my blessings to all the other’s positive vibes – please stay safe. Candles and kitties – not – learned the hard way when Dorry made an attempt to “play” with my Sabbath candles, thankfully I was close by.

So Dorry is “warming up” to join the carolers. Caterwauling in his deep manly bass voice. As the old saying goes “the tenors make the ladies swoon, the basses take them home”. My fave song is the one from Drawer Cat “I have claws and I live in your house” LOL.

Back to dentist this pm to see what/if repairs can be made to my stupid cracked tooth where his temporary patch up fell out not 24 hrs later :-(. If I have to go the expensive crown route Dorry will have to defer to my Princess status – hehe!

Paw up waving from cloudy but to be above freezing again today, yay!

Hey KJ…fun café theme again…esp appreciate the kitsmas carol list/LOL as new to me! The others are fun – they’ve made the rounds this season on fb too!

Oyy sorry on the vicious weather Buttons. Hopping you stay safe/sound while other storms roll thru.
KJ, thunder snow is basically a thunderstorm but precip in snow vs rain! (Usually experience it in early winter or sprig when temps are near freezing.

Paw up waves w/wishes for all to have the best day yet this week. Now to grab a cuppa joe & back I go to continue w/part 1 day 4. Now a smooch for Tux, later kits!

PC, speaking of living with or without the amenities of technology, here’s a take on the subject from Hi-Tech Cat LOL.

You have to love the wood burners 🙂

All our candles are glass covered ones Joan 🙂 thanks for the reminder though.. Winds have died down now thankfully still pretty wet and a massive snow/sleet storm tonight with thunder so I suspose that’s a snow thunder storm.. Should be interesting.

That TDK blanket is coming in handy feeling very cosy 🙂

    Very good Joan! 🙂

Sorry about the email Addie Jean that sucks!!

    We’ll wind is still calm-ish
And I’ve soooo much to do tomorrow I’m just hoping I’ll be home before the bad weather hits again..

I managed to divert a major family Xmas disaster today too.. My parents had told my sister a few months ago her dog Hugo (French mastiff) was no longer allowed up at their place as he attacked their dog twice (Hugo also attacked my rocky and bit me once before 🙁 )

He’s not even 2 yet and has a bad history of violence and my sister is in denial about it all.. Well she informed my mam she WAS bringing Hugo over while she stayed at Xmas and well let’s just say I hit the roof!!!

I don’t want the dog anywhere near my nephew he’s too unpredictable .. SO I took it upon myself and actually found a local boarding kennel that is willing to take him over Xmas!!! And for only €12 per night.. I booked him straight in and now it’s disaster diverted 🙂 but am still a bit miffed at my sis taking liberties!
But at least there’s No fighting dogs or relatives 😀
