Mac has been in more than out – it would seem that indoors=heat & food!
The late great Jiggs’ tail used to get weighed down by burrs too.
Not sure who originated that phrase 🙂

Oh, wow – how pretty. Av, how do you keep the kits from rearranging display? 😉

Psst, new bank peeps just brought us some holiday breads…Mmm, sampled the ginger bread – yum! 😀

I might make gingerbread for Christmas – it makes the house smell so good!

… KZ, I do love the little lights, and they have a battery/switch, so I can turn them on/off, or make them blink! so festive! …. and JK, Abby doesn’t jump up on anything, she is such a good girl, doesn’t get on counters, tables, and only on the furniture in the places that I’ve place throws for her to lay on …. she is truly the most trainable cat I’ve ever had, and wants to please 🙂

… Joan, I LOVE how gingerbread makes the house smell! …. Unfortunately, my kids won’t eat gingerbread, but this weekend, I will be going into the chocolate chip & chunk cookie production 🙂 … they smell pretty awesome too!

Very pretty festive display AV, amazing how it all stays in place with a kit on premises as Miss Abby!
Just got back from hairdresser. I did not get scolded for purrsonal attempt at trim, in fact he told me that I did a pretty good job on sideburns, which were what prompted me to get out razor in first place as they were growing out of alignment. As for the back, was not a good plan. But all remedied. Having to get used to look as with my purrmission he went supershort on sides, considerably longer on top. Not so sure, but in a few days when it “falls in” might feel totally thrilled with look. Plus he explained how I can wear it curly (natural hair) or straight. After had a long fun discussion with a friend of his who popped by. Hair dresser is a rocker as is this guy who began strumming on one of the guitars around the salon (basement of home, no basements cats and Enzo purry was sleeping upstairs), and I asked him to play “Stairway to Heaven” and sang along, which lead into like 45 min discussion about music!
Anyway look is sorta like this, only dark brown as almost black and a tad shorter, but sides are not quite as bare as hair is dark, supershort though, but I can rock it, just a bit different than expected. I think that we’ve all “been there.”

Good morning all, we have hot hot sunshine before we get rain all the way through to Christmas and at least. The washing machine is running hot putting out loads of washing until I have the clothes line filled up. When I was getting more washing I found HRH had settled down on the stripped bed. Silly cat, she should be making the most of a beautiful day. I will evict her soon.
I’m sure that TDK has beautiful palm trees and ocean breezes as well as mountains and forests.
KZ m I agree that that is the way of things, concentrate on one area and things will change so you have to be in another area but as you say they had to be done anyway and all the family coming was my excuse for pushing hard to get it all done. The petunias are just beginning to flower too and I planted out more sunflowers yesterday in the rain so they had a good start.
Thuuuuuuuud! I love the Simon’s cat cookies.
I am not looking forward to wrapping and just hope I have enough tape and paper. I actually lock myself in the bedroom with a bottle of water, note pad with who gets what so I can cross them off when wrapped and bags to put the various family presents in to keep them all together. I also have a piece of card to put the removed price stickers on but just like the rest of you the scissors and tape do get lost in the paper. Oh heck, have I bought name stickers for the gifts yet? Panic stations.
Waving at Judith, JK and KJ as they flit through the Cafe.
BB, you can have our rain if you want it, our Christmas days are usually spent outside as much as possible until the heat drives us inside to cold meats and salads and cold desserts. We wear casual Summer clothing and it’s all quite informal family getting together hilarity.
JK, I love the pic of the cat and human swapped places. 😀
AV, your mantle looks amazing, just like in old fashioned picture books/stories.
KJ, you didn’t get tsk tsk’d at for your hair DIY? Wow what a hairstyle, one I couldn’t carry off with my thick hair but I bet you are totally rocking it.

Oo, nice “do” KJ! Hmm, next time have stylist snap pic as real vs virtual! (Or you could always snap a selfie!) 😉
Waving to MS – enjoy your day!

Yum – choco chunk cookies/remember to share Av!

Moi, I’m heading out soon. Also have a hair – trim appt. this evening!
Wishing all a good rest of today!
Hey Tux…mwah, smooch for you, later kits!

    Nice do, KJ!
    HRH needs to get out!
It looks like we will not have a white Christmas here. There are still little piles leftover, but it’s supposed to rain on Christmas eve.

Raise your paw if you think today’s kitten has the best name ever! Trumps Dutchess Leela and Lord Comet for sure!

Hmmm … not sure that I’m quite ready to go “public” in Café as selfie, a bit too shy (right!)
Paws up from me Joan! Also trumps Dorian Gray Esq. (don’t tell him I said that or I’ll be in for no end of grief as kit with a grudge, not fun). Must now sulk for a bit as getting used to slightly different hairdo than anticipated. G-d please make this my biggest issue! Plus hoping to go to post office to p/u online order, or repeat order as 1st order for 3 prs of tights came in timely manner ‘cept colour was wrong. Means a trip to store to exchange return, was not the point of online ordering. Maybe they got it right this time. Should be my 2nd biggest prob. LOL.

Hello! Ran to post office to mail all the cards and picked up a small priority box for sister’s things. Stopped at my neighbors to drop off their cards. They have their tree up and their villages lit up with a string of big white bulbs added so they light up also. They sit on a shelf edged with silver garland with colored lights. Fiber optic angel on top of the tree and tree has all colored lights. What a festive, cozy living room with all the pretty lights! Beautiful!!!
AV!!!! Here I am!!! Thank you SO much for that LOVELY picture of you mantle. WOW!!! SO festive and pretty!! I LOVE it!!!! You do have a beautiful home!!
KZ…that is really short hair! I would be freezing to death! I always have my hair down to keep me warm plus wear turtleneck shirts and sweatshirts to keep warm. Also hoodies. I am always so cold. LOL I bet it looks nice on you though!!!
Joan, glad you got your cards and packages out and did some holiday shopping. How nice you get to be home to really enjoy the holidays. Gingerbread DOES make the house smell wonderful! I like whipped cream on top of mine.
MS… I have an overabundance of name stickers and wish I could share some with you! I love to share!!!

Raising hand for Baron Gustav von Scratchandbite, the little devil.
HRH has finally abandoned the bed, possibly because her Daddy gave her rear end a little help moving. 😛
She’s going to be grumpy for a while but at least it won’t be directed at me.
Clouding over a little now here but still hot and humid. Off to make a salad for lunch.

Hey BB, I wear a lot of turtleneck tops too, especially when it’s windy like today. I’m quite prone to stiff necks.
Went down to get the mail and stopped to talk to neighbor (seems we were all putting our recyclables out at the same time!). One of her kitties, a diluted tortie, seemed to be getting anxious and was meowing while we were talking. Suddenly she ran across the street – just as a car was coming up the street. Fortunately, the driver saw her. Speed limit is 10 mph and most driveways are wider than the roads here. Get home, and hubby tells me of someone who cut him off or something, turns out to be this person. So I told him a cat just cut him off and he said “thank you Miss Tortie!”.

Hi all! Been here a few times to post today but got interrupted each time. This morning son asked if TDK had any funny photos in the cafe today. I had thought of him when I saw the toilet hand washing one and that was indeed his favorite…perfect for a germaphobic but cat loving 9 year old boy. Then he asked if we could watch Simons cat, so we watched some Christmas ones. So tickled to then see JK’s plate of cookies!

KZ, I think I figured out what is going on with that kitties front legs. I think her legs were recently shaved for surgery and with her long hair it makes it look like her legs aren’t there….my theory anyways.

Love reading about your baking memories, BB and love seeing your mantel, AV! KJ, bet your hair looks awesome! I like it on that blonde lady anyways.

So cute to read of Abby, Comet and Mac playing with bows….adorable!

KJ, I LOVE the haircut! I could not pull that off, but I really love the look- so chic! AND I have a story to tell you in mailing your card–left it out as I had to make a trip when going into town to stop at post office to go to the window as it needed more postage than a regular stamp. Told Mr. KZ about it yesterday…but he was going into town today and he said he would go to the post office and do it for me. Great! Right? We were sitting here and he said OH *&(!#@! I took that card and drove to the post office but didn’t go in, I dropped it in the box outside! WHAT!? So now I have to wait for it to be returned to me (I hope) by return address because it has NO postage on it whatsoever, and then I (repeat I) will get postage on it and send it to you!
ECB, I’m gonna have to go back and check out the legs on that cat again and see if I can figure it out!

ECB! Her arms ARE shaved! In fact, look at her again, she is shaved all over except for her head, tail, her front legs, (and probably her back ones too) but we can’t see those! I think she has one of those lion cuts probably because of mats in her fur!

That’s funny KZ! Please don’t get upset with Mr. KZ, mistakes happen and whenever I receive your card I’ll be very happy. In fact I did something similar just yesterday. Did up a card for the young boy as JK mentioned who wants cards for Xmas. Bought stamp and had it in mind to mail it off today. Couldn’t find it in my bag. Must have left it somewhere all ready to go. So I did up another card, bought another stamp and sent it off. If some kind person finds it and drops it in mailbox instead of picking off the stamp, well and good. Come to think of it I think that I put a Canadian stamp on it and it’s going to the US. So it might come back to me. Oh dear. Well he’ll for sure get the second card LOL.
I’m just noting that my Hanukkah candles as placed in my Menorah are leaning towards the left. Does this say something about my political leanings? More likely that the holders are just slightly too large for the candles and laws of gravity taking effect. 😉

Think that you mean KJ as myself about hair! I dress really warm nowadays, knit sweaters, turtlenecks, tights, layers. And head always covered with variety of cowls, hats, you name it. Plus have a whole slew of ultra-light yet super warm down-filled coats and jackets with hoods, so I’m pretty much set for anything the weather throws at me. And inside, well I keep the place toasty warm!

KJ, you are too sweet. I feel better now that you know…I WAS upset, but you WILL eventually get the card, albeit later than what it should have been.. 😉 Funny about your left-leaning candles, HA!
