Ok internet is so bad tonight have tried to post 4 times already so I’m not sure if this will go post.. Just incase I can’t post again tonight hope everyone had a wonderful evening …

Jean & thank you for the kind words 🙂

Never seen the hooded eye myself MS but rang a veterinary nurse friend of mine and she’s seen it just once or twice.. Doesn’t seem to effect anything except facial appearance ..the girl that rescued them said she caught a glimps at the mother cat and she had a strange face with “bug eyes” so obviously passed down from Mammy..

Oh MS if I was using venison I’d stuff the patty with Brie ( cause venison is so lean ) and I’d top with grilled pears and slice of goats cheese 🙂 good glass of red wine would be nice with that burger combo 🙂

With the News Yesterday of Red Lobster Closing or Selling their Restaurants you might want to Share this Recipe so you will have it on your Timeline for later!!! I never ever eat @ RL so I guess I missed this announcement.

    ??Garlic Cheese Biscuits??
Cheese garlic biscuits like those served at that Famous Seafood Restaurant!!!

    Ingredients
    Original recipe makes 1 dozen
    1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1/2 teaspoon baking powder
    5 tablespoons butter
    1 cup milk
    1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese

For the Topping:2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted, divided½ teaspoon garlic powder1 teaspoon minced fresh parsley (or ¼ teaspoon dried)

    Directions
    Preheat oven to 450 degrees F (230 degrees C).
In a large bowl, sift together flour, salt and baking powder. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Make a well in the center of flour mixture. Add the milk and cheddar cheese; stir to combine. Drop batter by spoonfuls onto an ungreased baking sheet. Bake in preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes, until lightly browned. While the biscuits are in the oven, stir together the 2 tablespoons melted butter, garlic powder and parsley. Remove the biscuits from the oven and immediately brush with the topping mixture. Allow to cool for at least 5 minutes before serving. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container or zip-top back at room temperature for up to 3 days.

Hi litter mates. Love hearing about everyone’s cheeseburgers. And cookies too! Have heard of hooded eye, but never saw first hand. AV, wonderful that dau landed a job so quickly! *virtual high-paws*
It was a beautiful day at the farmers market. Last one of the season. I gave several vendors business and helped out at the shelter booth. Sister is happy to have me do the talking as she gets talked out. The kittens were a hit, we had Ian and Ivan out to show people. The smile on a little boy was priceless! Wish more folks would drop a few bills in the jar though…

    Hi Joan,
Kitties seem to be busy flippin’ burgers, looks like patio got it’s share of them LOL. Long day that ended up with 2 hr walk to sourve out more placemats to stuff as cushions, made 10 since Sun, might give it a rest for awhile. Gave one of two as gift, very much appreciated. My dear cookies are in freezer for when I decide that I want them, purrhaps with warm milk as bedtime noms as it’s getting chilly at night and actually turned heat on a few days back. Those hooded kitties are sweet. As long as this condition does not affect their health, well they’d be eating out of my hand for sure. Nice that you get to end day pleasantly as visit with Sis and boy kitties. They must be almost ready for furrever homes? Then comes the “J” litter? 😉

AV, yay brilliant news from your daughter.
Joan, good work on the shelter booth.
KJ, that’s a long walk in the city to find placemats. Glad that your gifts were appreciated.
Heading off to make lunch and open the doors as the rain has stopped and the sun is shining.

Good job on the cushions KJ. And nice to have cookies on hand for when you get a hankering.
The I boys are about six weeks old, but would prefer not to adopt out till 3 months. In the meantime, the shelter is packed with kittens and cats. When my life calms down I will stop over there with supplies. They want me to be the photographer so I’ll try to get pics. Very hard with non stop moving kitties. And I don’t like pics of kitties behind bars.
MS, enjoy lunch and the fresh air that follows the passing rain.
Oh and the J litter – should be interesting! Obviously hope there won’t be one, but there will always be kitties without mamas who need human help. Since there are 5 of us kids, that’s the hopeful number! K should be cool too, Jroc’s kids are both K kids!

What interesting stuff everyone has been doing! OH MY, love the little kittens with the hooded eyes, they are adorable! Had never heard of it before, I just thought when they looked like that it was an *expression*! Oops! I have learned more about cats and kittens from the site than anywhere, and have even applied it to my own kittens–hence the goat’s milk (Thanks Buttons!) and now they all like it, but not as much as Willow!
I received that Spirit Essences in the mail today, couldn’t wait to try it. I put drops in my hands and rubbed them together and then rubbed my hands all over each cat, they loved the extra pets! The stuff really doesn’t have a smell, but I’m sure to the cats it does. I’m not kidding, these cats were so calm this afternoon when Mr. KZ came in he teased saying I had drugged them. Now really, it wasn’t like that, but Willow has calmed down and Leona is not growling as much. I hope it helps them in the long run…if not there’s always Feliway, LOL!
Proud of you for baking cookies KJ!! Wish I could be as industrious as you making pillows and here I can get all the fiberfill I want!!
Speaking of beets, they are so yummy roasted in the oven in covered dish, drizzled with some olive oil, garlic cloves, sprigs of marjoram and balsamic vinegar. I love beets too AV!
Deb, I had heard that RL was closing it’s doors as well as the Olive Garden. I don’t know if this is truth or rumor, the ones near me are still going strong, with new menu items too. I love RL biscuits!
Joan, so glad you got to the farmer’s market today. And play with kittens too, what’s not to love?!
Waving to everyone….did my Hazeling today as I will be watching Avery tomorrow for a little while. She is so funny and spoiled (how did she get that way?) fusses if she realizes no one is holding her. But hey I cleaned to day so I can play with her tomorrow and the cats think she is a novelty: she’s not a cat but makes noises like one and she’s not a big person, but a miniature tiny human, LOL! And they love the *things* she has, the baby swing which they think is for them, and the little sleeper bed I have is theirs and the changing table put right under the window, YUP, it’s for them too and so convenient for watching birds and then drifting off to sleep when bird watching gets boring….

Thanks be to God for Dau’s amazing success in job finding …. she is halfway thru her first shift, and Son said his friend that works across the street in fidi checked on her, and she seemed to be doing well & looked happy (happy dancing here) …. it’s a scary thing (for her and for me, her MOM) to think of moving to NY to make a new start, but I am blessed to have Son already there (the ever protective, watchful bro) and I have confidence in her strong personal character/stamina that she will do well ….. positive confirmation goes along way when you’re that age and navigating your way in life ….

… well, Trisha’s spagetti casserole turned out really good! … didn’t have bacon (didn’t miss it), and added a jar of mushrooms and some capers …. I also used less noodles and only 2 cans of diced tomatoes (instead of 3) and made a smaller casserole ( it’s just us 2, so I didn’t want an eon of leftovers) …. the mushroom soup really added a nice flavor, and I used fresh basil & parsley in addition to the dried spices called for in the recipe (google it) …. I also cooked it 40 min. (as opposed to 30-35) and then let it sit for 5 …. super yummy!!!! final note – I used kalamata olives, not regular sliced black olives

… anyhoo… hope everyone is having a great evening!
