On February 8, 1910, Chicago publisher William Dickson Boyce filed incorporation papers in the District of Columbia to create the Boy Scouts of America. This tremendously valuable program of life skills and values has been popular ever since Lord Baden-Powell founded Boy Scouts in the early 1900s in Great Britain.

And of course the same benefits are gained by Brownies and Girl Scouts.

The giant cat is pretty obvious.

He moved up from Cub Scouts and now, my nephew Zachary just started as a Boy Scout.

We had a good time for lunch. It’s nice to be with a friend.

    Have a happy~

Wow, JK, that is a cool badge!!

Glad some of you are enjoying ‘Knightfall’ with me ….. They are fairly following the historical path, but definitely take artistic leeway, but it makes it interesting!

I think the history channel does a good job with series they produce!

Son bought a massive desk yesterday – a very realistic copy of the presidential desk in the oval office … including the door with the seal on it that JFK’s kids were photographed in ….. he finds these amazing deals on Craigs list or FB marketplace …. very cool …. of course it takes up my entire spare office, but I’m happy for him to use it ….

Headed out now to run some errands, have a great day all!

I was never a scout either.

That Devil’s Punchbowl Waterfall is awesome PG! Having missed out on scouting what say we make up for it by scaling it now? Are you up for it? 😉 😆

We could visit MS at the same time!

    Hi all,

Just finished my day so to speak. Had to do a quick and easy vol translation, but of course fooled around with my craft stuff first. Found some more faux fur pompoms at a diff $$$ store. $2 and they’re attached to curtain tie-backs so double deal. Detached them and worked out how to attach them using ponytail covered elastics, so that they can be easily removed when I wash the hat. Guess I’ll just “have to” make more hats! 😉

Seems heads of state are not getting any smarter. Our own Justin invented a word “peoplekind”. Now to my dismay I didn’t get this one, someone clearly smarter than moi told me that the word doesn’t exist- it would be “humankind.” The whole premise was way stupid, he maintains that he was joking. The laugh’s on him as it went viral! 🙄

Anyway I’m achy again so it’s time for a hot Epsom bath soak followed in short order by noms.

What work is your Son doing now, AV? I like the history channel series, too.

OK KJ – I’m ready to scale waterfalls in NZ. 😛 Now that you discovered making hats, you’re just have a grand time. They are cute and you need to keep the heat from escaping up top.

Cassidy is so precious, JK. Thanks for the video.

Purrfect PG! We can virtually arrange this oh-so-special expedition/excursion! 😉

Cassidy is for sure a miracle kitty. Shows what love and determination can achieve.

Just finished watching final ep of Knightfall Season 1. Wonder if they’ll renew it as there seemed to be a sorta coda. I am still into Vikings (which I prefer) even though it is also way off history-wise. And for sure not anywhere as gripping as it was in first few series.

The word humankind has been in existence for a long time. https://en.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/humankind

I was never a Girl Guide either, but I have friends who were and enjoyed it immensely.

Purrhaps miscommunication? I was saying the of course “humankind” exists. “Peoplekind”? Nope.

I have been through the Arthur’s Pass road but I haven’t seen the Devil’s Punchbowl Falls. I wish I had as it’s only a 2km/1 hour walk return to the falls.

Missed the cafe on Thursday but had to peek in and give a little shout out to my dad, who was the ultimate Boy Scout. Most folks have a religious symbol or branch of service on their grave markers, dad has the Boy Scout emblem. Pretty sure he wouldn’t have it any other way!
