Thursday – 02-04-14 – Children's Book Day – TDK Style!

Some of my best childhood memories are being totally engrossed in a book with the cat asleep next to me. Great topic tonight KJ.

I also loved reading as a child, and yes, also usually had a cat curled up next to me ….. still like to read when I have the time!

….. Abby is anxious, big Sal hasn’t been by this morning (I think his owner forgets to let him out sometimes) …. she’s doing the ‘meatloaf’ in front of the French doors now, for the last couple of hours …. silly girl – love struck! LOL

….. Mr. AV and I are taking a small road trip today up to Tarpon Springs (on the Gulf coast) for lunch at the Sponge docks, then down to a HUGE flea market in Oldsmar on the way home …. he is re-doing the yard (zeroscaping) and they sell TONS of plants there cheap …. should be a fun day! Can’t wait for a fresh fish lunch!

Books and kitties – great theme, KJ. My fur balls usually sit on my book/newspaper so I can’t read. We all know this as “I’m more important!”

I love to read-it was my escape as a child. J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis were my favorites! My contribution today:

Poor Miss Abby 🙁 is forced into her meatloaf pose until her buddy comes to visit. Xeriscaping is a great idea and looks good, too. Enjoy your lunch and road trip, AV. Flea markets use to be dangerous for me but I don’t have any more space so I can’t buy more stuff.

Well, it’s raining now and suppose to turn to snow tonight. Then it’s back to sunshiny spring for the weekend.

I’m going swimming and finish my Middle East final. Yikes

Found something I’ve been looking for, yay! All it takes is for something to slip between 2 folders. Poor Mac was startled out of a sound sleep when I shouted, “YES!”
Leela spent the morning at the window perch and when the sun left she went searching for it and found it on the other side of the room.
Took Comet outside for a while; he didn’t really want to stay on my lap but that’s the rule with an indoor kitty without his harness. Yes, my lap – most of the snow is gone and chairs are a bit dirty but dry. Oh and I uncovered some tulips and hyacinths that are starting to come up. Now I believe spring really is here!

Good morning all from Easter Friday, public holiday here, shops all shut and no newspapers. Mr MS is taking the opportunity to sleep in. It was below 10C this morning when I came downstairs, Autumn is sneaking in overnight and then retreating during the day as we are still getting some really great daytime temperatures.
AV, you’re going to a plant sale without me! ! Your day sounds wonderful.hope sal has turned up by now.
KZ, thunderstorms don’t sound great but the air is usually cleared by them so maybe what follows will be nice.

Off to wake Mr MS for breakfast, HRH has already had hers and I even warmed her meat for her. She is now hunched on the deck waiting for the sun to come to her- impatiently.

Afternoon all!
… great pics, PG & JK! …. hope you get things ready for Passover, KJ, I’m pretty much set for mine!
… MS, I had a blast! at the plant flea market stall ( I thought of you ) we bought about 20 nice flowering bushes to plant, I’m determined to get the hummingbirds to stop by my house this year!

… Sal was on the door step when we got home, Abby was nose-pressed to the glass door inside … they had been flirting all afternoon! ….

… we had a lovely lunch on the water, fresh grilled grouper … then I went to the fish market next door (we watched the shrimp boats come in as we ate) and bought 2 lbs of fresh gulf shrimp and 1 lb of grouper cheeks …. will have the family over next weekend for a feast!

… the flea market plant shop was HUGE and had all kinds of stuff, plus tons of other stalls and shops, we really had a nice day!
