We’ve recently taken in two 3 week old kittens – we’ve already checked to see if there is a foster mother, and sadly, there isn’t.

I’ve been feeding them around every 3 to four hours, and stimulating afterwards, but since we’ve only had them a little over a day, I haven’t seen them poop.

The girl will poop a bit, enough to dirty the wipe, but not actually poop.

Is this normal, or should I put something in the formula to help her go?

She’s moving around, is happy, and eating normally too.

The kitten I’m fostering right now which is 4 1/2 weeks would regularly go 2-3 days without a full poop, so I wouldn’t worry.

I did start putting a drop of Karo syrup in her bottle when I’d get worried about it being awhile since she last went and shed usually go that day or the next, but that might have just been coincidence.

I’m no expert, but I think its a good sign to be getting anything out of her so I’d only start to worry if she went over 3 days without.

When I first started hand rearing my 2 week old kitten, he did the same. Just enough to get some on the wipe. Now that you are feeding these kittens, it’s important to stimulate them after they have eaten. They will eventually go, but who knows how much food they were getting before you got them. It may take a few days for them to actually go a decent amount.
