The truth about the ghost cat.
First of all, I want to thank you, Eileen, for your prayers. I was not making anything up when I said that this house feels haunted. It always feels haunted around this time of year and I am very nervous going into the back bedroom at night. Lately, it has felt much worse and I do not like going back there at night unless my roommate is in the living room watching TV. My roommate even made a comment about how the house feels almost spooky at times. It’s usually worse in the month of October. Maybe that’s because my grandfather passed away in the back bedroom on Oct. 18, 1981. It feels better tonight though. Maybe God is working to bring peace into this house.
I had intended this thread to be a series of true, spooky stories about my house entwined within the story of recent appearances of a much spookier version of the ghost cat but I got worried that some people might actually be worried about me and decided it would be best to end the story now. I was wanting this thread to be sort of fun – not truly frightening and I certainly didn’t intend to worry people.
The truth is that nearly everything I have told you is true — just the recent sightings of the ghost cat have been embellished or made up altogether.
I will go over different parts of the story and tell you which parts are true and which parts have been embellished or made up altogether (though not much was made up — with all the creepy stuff that has happened in this house and in my life, I don’t really need to make stuff up to tell spooky stories!).
1) The story of the ghost cat – true. It happened exactly as I wrote about it.
2) Yahoo/Snoopy – again totally true. Snoopy was one of the meanest, coolest, and, at times, sweetest – though only to certain people – cats I’ve ever known. My grandfather really did teach this cat to be a vicious little brat and he (and my grandmother, my mom and me) loved that cat dearly even if we couldn’t cuddle him or pet him very often.
3)The neighbors seeing the Siamese cat in the window – true/embellished. What really happened is that I did go outside to talk to them and they did act angry at me and they did ask me about the Siamese cat they saw. But, when the husband said he saw the cat in the window, it was more like this.
Neighbor: “There he is in the window now.”
I turn and look but see nothing.
Neighbor: *shrugs* “I thought I saw a cat anyway”.
Me: “Maybe it was the ghost cat”.
I then tell my neighbors about the ghost cat but I really don’t think they believed me.
4)The Ouija board – all true. In fact, I actually left out a few things from that story. But, the Ouija board did actually spell out, “Kill Roy… I’ll Kill Roy” (I wasn’t there for that part of it but I don’t think that my mom and her friends were lying and Roy was actually frightened to go back into that house!) and, sadly, Roy did die a few years later of a mysterious illness. As far as the conversation with my grandfather goes, I was there when my mom asked those questions to my grandfather – or a spirit that said he was my grandfather. I still do not know what to make of that.
5)I saw something white going into the kitchen – not sure/embellished. I thought I saw some kind of movement in the hallway and something going toward the kitchen but I can’t be sure exactly what it was. May have been a trick of the light
6)I saw the ghost cat today – not sure/embellished. I did see what looked like the shadow of a cat in the living room window. But this looked like a cat that was laying on the windowsill. The ghost cat always appeared to be sitting. I am not sure what created the shadow because both of my cats were outside and, as spooky as this house was feeling earlier today, I wasn’t going to find out.
7)My grandmother, the ghosts, and her dreams and visions – all true. It all actually happened. There are a lot of other stories I could tell you about my grandmother too.
8)The cat in the back bedroom – partially true/partially embellished. Okay, I really did see a shadow that looked like a cat in the window. This was before my cat Shiva came in for the night. I did go look behind the curtains and that was when I noticed that the people behind me had the big yard light on. This may have created the shadow as it shined through the trees. I did not try turning the light off to find out.. honestly, I preferred to think it was their light. After all, that room feels creepy enough at night. As far as the cat in the window goes, that happened after my cat Shiva had come into the house. I did see a cat through the curtains but it was black -not white and it was Shiva – not a ghost. Her eyes really did glow though but it was green, not red.
So there you have it. Nearly all of the stories I have told you in this thread are true and there are many more true stories of haunted houses/strange happenings that I could tell you. Like Angie pointed out, it is very possible that I have inherited some of my grandmothers gifts and sometimes it seems that ghosts and other things are attracted to me too — thankfully not like my grandmother though. I don’t welcome things like that for the most part because I am a chicken and I do get really scared of things like that. If the ghost cat really did make a full appearance to me like he did before, I don’t know if I would react the way I did back then or if I would be scared. It’s different when you have a lot of people around you but, when it’s just two people, it’s a little more unsettling.
Anyway, I hope everybody enjoyed this thread and the stories and I hope nobody is upset at me for embellishing things to make it all spookier.
