Pen is back in the hospital overnight. She’d quit eating again, so she went back to the vet on Saturday. He removed what was left of her sutures but, when she got home, she didn’t eat, didn’t drink, and only wet the litter once overnight Saturday/Sunday. (I haven’t seen a stool from her since before her teeth were extracted.) She went back in today for sub-Q fluid and food experimentation. They offered her food before a tube feeding; she wasn’t interested. She got a dose of pain med before the feeding and then ate a considerable amount on her own after being tube fed. She’d run out of pain meds at home and wasn’t given any more on Saturday, so apparently that’s what caused the problem. She’s staying overnight to make sure she’s eating, drinking, and eliminating properly, and for a titration of the correct amount of pain med to send home with her.

Poor Sheree looks around and meows when I come home without her sister.

I’m sorry Penny is back in the hospital, but if the pain meds are helping her to want to eat and drink, that should help her get back on track.
