I am no expert on grits, but if they are prepared well, they are good. Maybe they are an acquired taste. ๐Ÿ™‚

I saw on MCW’s Mum thread that you might be coming back to California next month, Rubia. How wonderful to be able to celebrate your mum’s 91st birthday with her!

I thought grits sounded a bit like porridge which I absolutely HATE. Food winging its way to wherever it’s needed and a large cup of spiked hot chocolate to Rubia.

I have just started cooking dinner, so if you feel like sharing, when it’s finished it will be roast chicken topped with bacon and stuffed with half a fresh lemon, with roast potatoes, petits pois and carrots with apple crumble for pudding. Should be ready in about an hour and a half.

Pollys Mum, I would love to have some. That sounds so yummy!!! I am going to try to broil/bake a filet of beef tonight with scalloped potatoes. However, roast chicken sounds divine!!!

Please set me a place at your table, Polly’s Mum!

    No problem.

OK, after testing the system, I guess I’m up and running finally. Please note, my Molly is now up on Catster. Sorry for bragging, but I’m pround of myself for figuring out how to do it, with many peeks at various threads for the instructions from all of you! PM, that sounds so delicious, and it’s just about lunch time for me right now, I’m salivating!

You’ll just have to wait, unless you all want salmonella. The chicken isn’t cooked yet. Have some champagne while you wait.

PJ, Bog and Tiger have sent a friend invite to the Pretty Molly!

    #134981

    So has Polly.

Good for you Paulajeanne. We all start learning somewhere ๐Ÿ˜€

Morning, Instinct. I wondered how you and Intuition fared as I read the paper this morning. What a storm! 400,000 without power!

Ya, some in the bay area got hit with it pretty hard from what I read. My guess would be on the ocean side of the city.

Wife is going to have to call her parents or they will freak out over it. They get kinda strange about storms

Any news on the job hunting front?

    No ๐Ÿ™

I’ve been using the job search engines but haven’t found anything there either. All the ones are full time jobs or are far enough out that it would be too much time and money commuting for me.

I really want to keep it in the Alameda area so that I can walk or bike to work. Either that or at the school in San Francisco but nothing so far.

Hello one and all! Your dinner sounds good PM, but we’re having chinese take away, yum!!!

Paulajeanne – love the picture of Molly heading into the Christmas tree!

I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you. Something will come along that works for you.

Hi, MCW. How are you this fine day?

I’m fine thanks KW – got all Mum’s clothes packed up today (well, not all, left her something to wear!!); Chris and I will take them over tomorrow with some other bits and pieces so the place looks like hers when I take her on Tuesday.

I just jumped on Craigs list now. Maybe there will be something there that will jump out at me
