@moon – its funny because not that long ago i remember u mentioning it was just getting cold there, after i’dd been lementing the cold ere, and we’re back. i finally got my big long lands end coat a couple months ago, and i got my moon boots again. (the pair i had last year fell prey to mice who ate the lining out.) these actually fit better, so it’s all good.
welcome! i *think* that’s the song we sang. i seem to remember bim bom or sumthing to that extent because it was fun to hear the one young guy sing that in a very low bass, as we uppers followed along. (i’m a descant!)
i miss my neighbour taking me around queens boulevard to see the little mobile hannukah trucks. here in nyc, wherever there are large jewish populations, they have trucks that go around assessing the religious needs of the community. they hand out little simple menorahs and literature and such. he took me once and it was fascinating.
the thing that bothers me at this time of year are the people who come door to door, or at the bus top or wherever trying to convert you to whatever. im polite to them, i just pretend i don’t know english, which usually worked unless i let the secret slip. some are persistent, and that bothers me a bit.
i had dinner with my bestie at this little tea place in greenwich village last week, and i got there before she did o i wandered around the area for a bit. it was nice to see the trees for sale, and the lights strung out. i really get so busy that i tend to forget to let myself enjoy these little pleasures, and i keep thinking i must indulge myself in these little walks more. it’s usually the cold weather that getss the best of me though, that and being tired from work.
