Quietly opens the cafe swinging doors and peeks in! No peeps. Okay let’s get this brunch rolling. I brought eggs, sweet rolls, rashers of bacon, sausage and gravy, biscuits, oj and V8 juices. Plenty of hot coffee w/flavored creamers galore!! Happy Sunday everyone. It is 55 degrees in sunny Ormond Beach today. Looks like a good weather day.

Hi all! Hope everyone is having a good Sunday. I’m doing laundry (yuck) and trying to decide what to make for lunch this week that will use up a bunch of stuff we already have in the house. I’ve been on a tear lately of trying to use stuff up.

Beautiful day in NYC today, after rain yesterday.

Hugs to all and scritches to kitties.

Good morning all!! I was all ready to go to church but my daughter’s driving lesson was rescheduled to this morning because of her band audition. She has been trying to get a friend to go to church with her for months. Her Mom and Grandma went to our church, but she refused to go when her Mom got sick. Then her Mom died and she is really having a hard time. She blames God and is full of anger. It has hurt her school work and got her in trouble with the people she was running around with. Then she just showed up last week. She spent time with my kid again. It seems she is trying to work through it all. I can not help but ache for her. She is so lost. Her Mom died from complicaitons to diabetes and she has just been diagnosed with diabetes herself. She said at least she knows what will happen to her.

Now that I am thoroughly depressed I will go and start a fire–it is cold here this morning!

    Good morning, all!

I got up at 7:00 and walked and fed the dog, then went and fed XBF’s kitty and hung out with her for a while – it seemed like she didn’t want me to leave. Got home and was looking forward to coffee when I remembered I was out of coffee filters and had to run out and get some. Finally sitting down with a huge mug now.

The weather is great here, too, today – probably around 70 and sunny. I got a great start to the scrapbooking project for Ron and Loretta last night but I have to fix my printer so I can print out more posts (I printed some stuff at the gym but I’m not going back there until tomorrow afternoon).

The boys send greeting to all Aunties and Uncles. They are being good boys so far this morning, but I think they were bad last night. I slept at the dog’s house, but I came home to shredded paper and a knocked-over kitty condo.

SM, take heart in the fact that your daughter’s friend showed up last week. I’m sure she needs time to work through things, and at least she’s reaching out to people who can help.

Hi GD! Sounds like the boys were rumpusing last night. George was doing that this morning, and then he nipped me on the leg when I tried to get past him to the balcony. Not one of his serious bites, but annoying anyway. I really wish he would stop doing that. He’s finally settled down, though, and will probably sleep most of the day. I swear, I want to be a well cared for housecat in my next life.

Soxsmom, that’s so sad about your daughter’s friend. I’m glad she’s back in your daughter’s life again and hope she can get some help.

Kilroy, I’d love to be a spoiled cat myself! Right now my guys are trying to decide which window is the best to sit in and enjoy the nice weather. They’re going back and forth between the two open windows, sometimes ending up at the same one and fighting for a spot.

I’m going to try and get some pictures today of them wearing the hats Ange sent. It’s also time to start planning those Christmas pictures…

CM: I made four candles by dipping. It was a painfully slow process but as a result I have really unique candles! 😛 No shop sells them in such crooked and twisted shapes!

It was lots of fun; I recommend it!

    I have a beautiful fire.

Daughter has a few friends in crisis. Yesterday at auditions one friend was on the cell with friends in Virginia. She called back to VA to thank them for the necklace she just got in the mail from them. They were driving somewhere. She heard the crash. She heard the screams. The driver, who she was not talking to died. The one she was talking to has now slipped into a coma.

Her oldest friend here in NM has a brother that has some rare disease. Doctors have never seen anyone live this long with it. The two girls and the brother have done everything together every summer since they were in 4th grade. It is unknown at this point if he will survive through the end of the year.

Such hardship and yet these kids keep functioning. They go to school. They take care of their business. I keep hearing how todays teens are just awful and I look at the ones around me. I just don’t see them as awful.
