Hi, Everyone! Yesterday was nuts and I never even got on TDK (did anyone miss me?). Our local HEB grocery store had their Feast of Sharing yesterday. The grocery store donates everything for a turkey dinner for anyone in the community who wants to come. I think they were expecting to serve 6,000 dinners. Mr. WWM and I worked. He was a table captain and I was a food carrier. It was organized chaos but I think we somehow got everyone fed. I’m in no hurry to look at mashed potatoes for a while, though. One of the men told me that I was too little to be a food carrier and the trays would be too heavy for me. HA! I don’t think so (weenie man). I was pretty tired by the time we got home, though. It was a nice thing to be a part of. This is a great community for volunteers.

Good morning. I cant seem to motivate myself today. Its mostly cause its a weekend and the bus I need is every half hour AND being a weekend its very packed.

I need to go to the zellers and get more wool and I need to get to the canadian tire store to get a toilet plunger but the two stores are not anywhere near each other but both are far from me so I dont want to take the long bus but I should get out today.

Hi everyone…I know…bedrest…but they said I couldn’t drive to the store…so I didn’t. Wayne took care of all the items and I just walked with the cart. 🙂 We were going to have my MIL watch Maddie today but she’s a bit sick, so that was out.

I am going to rest right now…I promise no one has to come to Ohio with any whack bonk sticks 🙂 At least not yet. lol

    Hello, all

Just finished morning coffee, dishes, feeding kitts (and husband) and will now go have a nice long chat with my MIL (one of God’s good people — I’m so lucky!). I’ll take a smoothie and croissant to go, please, because after that I have to pound keyboard for a couple of hours. As I tell the fuzzers, “No keyboard, no cat food.”

    Have a good day, everyone.

    Hi all!

WWM, that volunteering sounds like a nice thing to do, and I laughed out loud at your description of the silly man who thought you couldn’t handle the trays.

GD, I see you posted “one more hour” about an hour ago, so I hope you’re on your way home and away from that crazy gym.

CM, add me to the possible whack bonk brigade if you don’t take it easy. We worry about you, sweetie.

It’s a rainy day in NYC today, and Eighth Avenue traffic is backed from here to next week, lots of horn honking. I tried to nap and couldn’t, but the horns don’t seem to bother George. He’s sound asleep.

Hubby put together a pot of green chile stew, and the smell from the kitchen is mouthwatering. We had grilled cheese and bacon sandwiches for lunch, which was good too 🙂

We’ve been working on the Saturday New York Times crossword puzzle, and it is serious kicking our butts. I’ve scribbled out so much (I do it in pen) that I can’t even read what’s there anymore.

Hope everyone has a good day.

    Hi Kilroy!

I did escape from the gym and will be off until 2:00 on Monday – yay! I went to walk the dog and now I’m home. The boys gave me a vice welcome – they were glad to see their Mama. I’m going to try to take a nap now. Later I’m going over to spend some time with the dog. I’m going to bring the scrapbooking stuff over and do some there. Milo is NOT got to have around when you attempt to do things with paper! I’m planning on a quiet evening of dinner and wine in front of the tv.

That sounds like a good night, GD.

I just hopped on the computer to check an answer in the crossword (“drupe”: a fleshy fruit with thin skin and a central stone”). Never heard of it, but that’s what it worked out to, and it turned out to be right. So I learned something today, which makes it a good day.

Hello and good evening everyone! Just back from a long day (feels like it anyway!) of wandering round the shops to try and get Christmas ideas for my family. Phew, Dereck got loads of ideas for his family, and I saw very little for mine, always the way!

    How is everyone feeling today?

We had to team up on this one; it was a bear. But I like those. The American Crossword Tournament is coming up in March (I think?), and I have to be ready. This year was the first year I did it, and I did OK, but I want to do better next time.

Yummy – green chili stew!!! Beef or pork, Kilroy? I hope you have some fresh tortillas to have with it!

Oh man – the worst thing about naps is that I never want to get up after one – I just feel like staying asleep! Yawn!

The chile stew (made with beef, WWM) was awesome, I had 2 bowls and ended up sweating like a pig (sorry for the visual). And there’s plenty left over for tomorrow!
