Happy Earth Day Everyone! Hope today is a beautiful day wherever you are. All the kits are setting out flowers from the garden, putting on tablecloths in beautiful blues and greens for Mother Earth. The big Tuxie is pulling out the recycling bin for every one to put their recyclables in.

Today we are having make your own omelettes, coffee cake, bacon, canadian bacon, ham sausage, fresh fruit, yogurt and cereals. Hot coffee, tea and cocoa as well as milk, juice, sodas and water for drinking. The back patio is open with/without umbrellas on the tables. Please stop by and say hello, visit for a while, or grab noms on your way to your Sunday activities.

    Happy Earth Day to all!

Had a small accident with Sherlock last night. 65 pound Basset–who thinks he is a cat–jumps in my lap, landing on my knee! It is black and blue–such lovely color, but the swelling isn’t horrible–great ice packs. So my puppy is unwilling to move far from me and the cats don’t want anything to do with me–appears they don’t like ice in a bag. Deuter likes a piece of ice on the tile–great play toy! So we are going to just stay home and get some chores done. Yesterday mowed and did some weeding in the evening, so I need to finish that. I still have one more bush by the mailbox I have to remove–lost it with water restrictions. I was thinking of putting in a small yucca–don’t need much water and love the sun.

It is moth season–according to Colorado State University they migrate during this season. So a few moths have gotten in the house–what joy for Noelle!! Best toys ever!! The birds love them and are getting fat and happy–but my Noelle thinks they are the greatest thing in the world! She is an amazing hunter!! Little wiggle butt–Deuter taught her that move!!

Good Morning! The cafe looks so springy and fresh! Sorry about your knee, SM – silly Sherlock, you are a big goggie!

It’s going to be a rainy day, but I might go out anyway and plant a few things and check on my peas. Will curl up and finish my book later. Can’t get the 3rd book till next Tuesday – that’s when I can borrow another book from the Kindle library.

    Happy Earth Day!

Between his antics and the Team of Noelle and Deuter–we are always laughing at someone! Deuter and Noelle were hunting the mighty moth this morning–hilarious–and Noelle got it! My husband gave all the dogs a piece of Canadian Bacon this morning–Sherlock prefers to thoroughly chew his food–Kasey and Lissy just gulp it down. Sherlock is dainty with his food–funny looking when you look at the size of him!

I can kind of picture Sherlock being dainty eating his canadian bacon!

When he runs at you it is the funniest sight–ears are flapping and his body just wiggles all over–then he eats. He sits down and slowly chews his food–didn’t know a dog did that!! I told my husband he has table manners!

Oh my gorsh, that’s so cute!!

The rain has started and I think I’m going to throw something in the crockpot. It’s always nice to have the house smelling yummy and cozy on a chily rainy day. I know I have carrots, celery, potatoes and a can of soup; depending on what’s in the freezer will determine what my crockpot brew will be.

I just cleaned the freezer out. I found some chili I made in the very back–I didn’t date it, so I had to throw it out because I am pretty sure it is too old, but it sure sounded good. Like you Joan I was thinking soup sounds wonderful–shoot I would adore some rain too for that matter–highly unlikely though!

Yes, it’s been dry here, certainly nothing like what you are having, but the irony of it all is that we were flooded silly last time this year. The rain is welcome, though – I worry about our well. It’s never gone dry, but many around here do.

One section of town all the wells are dry. We are fortunate and have city water, but those with wells are in trouble. I think their livestock are in much worse shape. One family we know has to buy water to bring in for their horses. We could use a good rainy season–but I don’t think it will be this year. We are very fortunate compared to the town my daughter is in–even though we are in neighboring towns, we have had some rain–they haven’t had any. Their town was the one on fire last year–so many fields lost and cattle. This year the fire department has been very active in fire prevention. Praying for no fires this year.

It’s sunny and cooler here today, high of 69. Going out to get Smokey a collar and tag today. The big lummox had the nerve to go to the front door this morning and want outside! lol maybe I should see about harness training him? I dunno. He might try to chew it off.

Sorry to hear about the rain issues still going on SM :-/

We have been in severe drought conditions–similiar to Texas and Arizona for years. I have to say that it was about 11 years ago when the storms brought so much rain that I had over 6 inches of standing water in the backyard because of how long it takes to soak into the hard packed earth. That was the year that the pond flooded and fish were floating over the road and into the practice football field.

We’ve had a lot here at times, it’s been coming up under our foundation (fun) because we get too much at once. We need more steady long rains because those hard ones just sit on top and then run off and cause problems. We were in drought conditions but I’m not sure if we still are, nothing like what you guys are going through though.

Morning everyone, its only 87 degrees here and probably will get close to that ever looming 100F. All the four legged ones have been fed, the outside birds watered and seeded and now its time for me to try and sleep while I am tired and not too warm yet. Hope that everyone has a good day, and sure wish that a lot of us in the Southwest would get rain.

I thought about donning a tutu like AV–but I fear I’d scare the rain away forever!! You will have happy birds!! Sweet Dreams!

Power keeps blinking off, it’s annoying. At least my crockpot brew is done and I can take the insert out and put it on the woodburner to keep it warm. At least we don’t have to worry about heat, but not having water is a bummer. Hope it stays on now!

Joan, I hope that your power stays on, not having water is a bummer indeed.

Well I broke down and turned on the a/c, it was 86 degrees inside the house and there was no breeze to help cool it down if I opened the door and windows for a cross breeze. But set it @ 80 so it shouldn’t be too bad for the electric bill.

Oh yuk Deb, that’s too hot. So far so good here. A co-worker who lives about 3 miles up the mountain texted that the power is out there. It’s raining buckets and getting super windy.

Comet’s howling for his toy and Leela is enjoying the fire.

Joan, I would love to share your rain and the wind too, it would cool down everything. Lol on Comet howling for his toy, poor neglected baby (not!). Leela is the smart one to lie about enjoying the fire.
