I didn’t see another one started so fogive me if there is one. Welcome to the end of your weekend. Take time to finish your “house work” and then take some time to relax with your kits. I am going to do some laundry here with my girls, work on some paperwork, have a cat nap and then unwind.

Morning, MC (it’s still just barely morning here). Mr. K is off playing tennis (indoors, thank goodness, because it’s 28 degrees here, brrrr), so I’m hanging out in the smallest room in the apt with the door closed & the heater blasting. I’m reading a book I got on starting & running an independent information business; I have to admit that I’m not sure I’m cut out for the self-employed life.

Hi MC & Kilroy – Just fed the woodburner; Leela is happy. I’ve got some things to do, much of which I probably won’t because I’m lazy and it’s too cold to stray too far from the heat source.

Good Morning everyone! It’s actually 11pm, Sunday, in India. Had a very busy morning. Had a late afternoon meal and caught a nap in the afternoon with all 3 of my cats sleeping all around me after they had their fill. Mint and Pepper ate whiskas. Ginger ate a (tiny) raw fish, a few pieces of boiled chicken, one boiled fish with rice and a teaspoon of vanilla icecream:) She is 8 months old and bigger than Pepper and Mint, who are both two years old.

Here’s a dose of cuteness to brighten/warm up your day: http://cuteoverload.com/2012/02/11/caturday-sleep-over/

Kitty in the middle has no sense of modesty – eek! 😛

So having fun this morning, not! Was in a car accident, boy do I hate that. I am fine though for the most part, shook up of course and my headache is worse. Now comes the wondering, what the heck happened 🙁

Hi ONB & Deb. Kilroy, that is soooo cute! Hope you can take it easy today Deb, even a minor accident will give you (more) aches and pains. So what happened?

ONB, thanks for setting me straight with the time difference. 🙂 Napping with cats is great! Comet usually won’t nap with me, but Leela sometimes does.

Morning Joan, I was making a left hand turn, she was making a right hand turn…both cars met. Police here don’t do accident reports any longer unless there are injuries, now they will PUSH you out of the way….but its up to the drivers to exchange insurance informtion, argh. I came home and took 2 Aleve and hope to stave off any aches and pains, at least the air bags did not deploy.

Oh AZ, I sure hope it wasn’t my sister who hit you! Prayers your headache lessens. Hi to everyone who has come in the cafe since I started it. I have been reading the Sunday paper, changing litter boxes, changing out water bowls, filling the self feeders, watching clips on Whitney Houston, trying to clean the fish tank (NOT easy with two cats!) and now having pizza for lunch. I am like everyone else, staying close to a heat source today. It is SO cold today and supposed to be in the 60s this week.

I have chosen to take the job I was offered and will hopefully be able to start Monday the 20th. I am nervous about starting a new job.

MC, I don’t think it was her unless she drives a White Tahoe and has a small daughter (about 7 yrs old). Congrats on taking the job you were offered, I think you will be excellent and they will find out what a jewel they are lucky to have. I am putzing around a bit and then going to lie down.

Afternoon all!…… yay MC, glad you got a job offer!…….. hope everyone is staying warm, it’s in the 50s here today, which is quite cold for us!…… I’m making a crock pot full of northern beans, and have collards simmering on the stove. I’m thinking I’ll make some jalopena corn muffins to complete my wintery meal…………. stay warm everyone!

Oooh, I love hummingbirds! Years ago I heard that they like red, so I made a hanging basket of red impatients. Outside reading and a hummingbird joined me for quite a while (initially thought it was a really big bug!) – what a pleasant experience! Hope you stay relatively ache-free Deb.

Congrats on the job MC! Try to convert your nervousness into excitement of something new! In some ways that’s what I’ve had to do (trying to do, actually) to survive where I am – getting lots of new stuff pitched at me. Same office, same people (almost), new tasks.

Hi AV! *waiving* Brrr, 50s is quite chilly for you – your winter meal sounds fabulous! My beef stew/soup was delicious last night. Hubby took some Omaha Steaks that he got for Christmas (thank you, Mom!), so he will grill, I’ll make baked potatoes and tossed salad. I’m thinking of making some brownies. Tuesday/Valentine’s Day is going to be another day of the week for me, so why not celebrate today? 🙂 Hubby has been known to give me flowers, though, so that will be nice to look forward too. I got him a giant Hershey’s Kiss.

Nope, AZ, her only child is little Frankie!

Oh AV, your food does sound DELISH! I can’t decide if I want to come and eat at your house or at Joan’s! Decisions….

    Oh Deb! I’m sorry you got hit, and I really hope you’re OK. From years of working with personal injury attorneys I can tell you you’ll probably hurt tomorrow, hope the Aleve staves off the worst of it. {{{Deb}}}

    Afternoon, shifters!

I’m trying to take it easy today after a full day of running around yesterday. Just walking some dogs today and making potato soup in the crock pot for myself and GG later. Doing a few things around the house and hanging with the boys who haven’t seen enough of me of late.

Congrats on taking the job, MC! I bet it’ll be great! I can’t believe I’m not going into work at the gym tomorrow morning – or ever again! Looking forward to what comes next, but I’ll miss the people there – or most of them!

Hi GD!! (I know, you’ve probably disappeared by now). I feel like I haven’t seen you in ages, and I’ve obviously missed something; what’s this about no more gym?

Kilroy, I prob will feel it a bit later, think I am going to soak in a warm tub with Epsom salts though to avoid some of it.

MC, I thought Frankie was the only child 🙂

Joan I love hummingbirds, even their little territorial tiffs that they have :)Your dinner sounds like it will be a winner.

GD, I think you will be just fine. You are doing well with the pet-sitting/dog-walking and you love doing the tennis tourneys every year. And just love potato soup!

AV, your pot of northern beans sound yummy too.

I quit my job at the gym two weeks ago and my last day was Friday. EBL wouldn’t give me the 12 days off that I needed for the tournament and since I’d gotten a nice position during the week-and-a-half tournament, I wasn’t about to turn it down. So I quit. It was a total power trip for EBL not to give me time off as we have interns who could easily cover for me – she just didn’t feel like giving me the time off (unpaid, by the way, and my only “vacation” every year).

I figured I’d do my pet-sitting and try to step that up. Told the lady I walk the dogs for that I was quitting, in case she wanted to change her times since I can have more flexibility when I don’t have to go to work. She told me she hasn’t had the time since she moved in to hire a personal assistant as she’s always had in the past and offered me the job. It’s “a little more than part-time”, $2 more an hour than I made at the gym, flexible time, and she’ll still pay me to walk the dogs. This gives me the time and flexibility to run and grow my pet-sitting business as well as work more normal hours. It’ll be quite the change, but I think it will be good for me!

Hi GD – this sounds like a very promising and positive change – I’m very happy for you!

Deb, good idea on the tub soak – that will help ease aches too.
