    ILMC: Yeah, you can buy canned pumpkin here too but if you want any pumpkin treats you HAVE to make it from the scratch.

    Hi, CM, oh, thank you, how totally yummy! Yes, it’s Monday morning here but I haven’t heard the news yet so I can’t tell you if it’s a good day or not so far. However, I don’t have any deadlines this week so that’s a good start!

    But the way the sun’s coming up looks like it’s going to be a scorcher. Also supposed to blow a gale, unfortunately.

    I exaggerated, CM, I wasn’t THAT gross. I don’t think…

    I can send you some of our chilly weather to even out your scorcher 🙂

    No deadlines is a good thing I think. Our Thanksgiving is this Thursday so it’s a short week for most everyone. Wayne gets off Thursday and Friday so that’s nice. We will be working on the baby’s room. I have my ultrasound on Monday and my weekly OB appt on Tuesday. Whoopie!! But it will make the week go by fast.

    Gosh, so it’s a lovely long holiday weekend for Thanksgiving, then. That sounds lovely, and I bet you get heaps done on Abbiefishie’s room.

    I hope we do too jcat! We need to so bad. I need to get the room done, so I can wash some of her clothes and put them away and etc…I need to get my ducks in a row. I had a dream last night that she was going to be born between Christmas and new years.

    I AM SICK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 🙁

    I knew I was coming down with something and I’ve had 5-6 hours of sleep the last 3 nights which didn’t help. Last night after running around between work, my boys and the puppies all day, I was settling down at the puppies’ house and wanted to go to bed early, when Old Boss called to ask me how things were going. His wife had told me she needed me to stay the night Wed. Thurs. and Fri – hadn’t mentioned Sat., but he told me he was at the hospital with her and needed me to stay with their daughter. So I had to pack up everything, leave the puppies and drive 20 minutes to his house – I was SO annoyed!

    I got up at 5:15 and took his dogs out and was at the puppies’ house just after 6:00 to take them out on time. Around 7:30 I went home to give Bobby his pill and then went to clean the dentist’s office. However, at this time I’m coughing, my nose is running, I have a headache, a fever and a sore throat. When I stood in line at Dunkin Donuts and started getting dizzy as well, I gave up and admitted to myself that I was indeed sick! So I was a good girl and went home to Bobby and Milo and went to sleep for an hour and a half or so. I also talked to my friend, the dentist’s wife, and told her I can’t clean the office today. After my nap I feel even worse, but I had to get up and drive to the puppies’ house – both because they needed to go out and because MY INTERNET IS DOWN!!!!! 🙁 Arrrrrrrgh!

    I tried to call stupid Comcast, but apparently I wasn’t the only one and there was a recording suggesting that I call at a later time.

    So, that’s my day so far! I’m exhausted and will go nap again in a little while.

    I can’t believe some of you are done with Christmas cards already! Arrrrrgh – and here I thought I had plenty of time!

    ((GD)) I am so sorry you are sick. Maddie has a cold too, it’s going around. You need to rest though girl!!!!!!!!! Get a lot of fluids in you and rest!!!

    Whine! I don’t have time to rest!!! 🙁

    Actually this coming week will be better than most since I’m starting to work just 5-9 tomorrow and have Thursday and Friday off. I’m hoping Old Boss is done asking me to stay with his daughter now, because I have both Bob and Milo and the puppies and starting Tuesday the the biting cat and her diabetic kitty sister.

    GD, tell old boss that you can’t watch his daughter. You are busy all week with your other jobs and you have to take care of your own animals as well.

    Yeah! I was really annoyed last night. He didn’t call me til 9:30 and I had to run and leave everything. I even told him I was dogsitting, but he told me I needed to stay with his daughter. He must not be aware that his wife only told me those three nights. And they never pay me, so I really don’t want to have to leave the puppies whose parents are actually paying me to stay here and take care of them. 🙁

    GD, keep drinking fluids and gargle with warm salt water with aspirin or Tylenol dissolved in it to help your sore throat. I know you’re too busy to be sick but if you don’t slow down and get some sleep and rest then you’re really going to be sick.

    You guys are making me feel horrible. I have bought my Christmas cards but they’re sitting here on my desk in the boxes 🙁

    GD, you need to tell your old boss, you cannot just drop everything for him. You are WORKING and getting paid for it, you can’t just “leave” your job for him, just out of friendship. If you don’t do it now, they will always expect you do to be there for them and be their doormat. You have to think of YOU first GD.

    Sorry, it just irks the heck out of me that they are taking advantage of you and your kind nature. My sister did that to me years ago and I finally had to tell her no. It was hard but I couldn’t ever say no to anyone. I worry about you honey.

    WWM, don’t feel bad, I am always this anal with my cards..ALWAYS. I am normally done with Christmas shopping too but now with a toddler…it’s a bit more difficult 🙂

    WWM, when I staggered out the door to go to the puppies’ house, I looked at my 7 boxes of Christmas cards and thought of bringing them with me and getting started on them. Didn’t happen! I was lucky I could find the front door!

    I took some snotty/flu medicine and it’s made me into a zombie – at least nothing is hurting at the moment – I think!

    I’ll try the aspirin/salt gargle thing once the medicine wears off. I took the day time stuff, but even so, I don’t think I’m going to take anything alse, because I have to drive around between houses and do that much better while awake 😉

    CM, you’re right, I just feel bad the woman is in the hospital and they need help. If I have to, I’ll sleep over again, but by Tuesday whwn I add the extra two cats to my list of things to take care of, I won’t be able to do it anymore. OB’s wife is supposed to be released Thursday or Friday, so we’re getting there. Unfortunately it’ll take her a while to recover and she wants me to help her out with driving, the dogs, etc. Arrrrgh!

    If you can help her out but ONLY if you get PAID to do so. Explain to them, you are working for a living and just can’t drop everything for them. It’s hard, I know, but you have to think of your situation..not just theirs.

    Okay…off my soapbox. I am going to have some lunch and lay in bed. Maddie is napping and I might too. Hugs to all…see you later…GD, rest!!

    Thanks, CM! I really feel like just telling her I won’t have the time and not deal with it at all. Even when she does pay me, it’s so little it’s not really worth my time.

    I think I’m going to lay on the couch with a book for a bit. Unfortunatly, because the puppies are so young, they have a lot of energy, make a lot of noise, get into trouble and need to go out to do their business constantly. Hopefully they’ll leave me alone for just a bit and let me rest.

    I just wondered – have we heard from Ron/Mr. Renee this week? I know he was going back to work and wonder how it went?

    GD, you can gargle even if you’ve taken some medication. Since you don’t swallow the gargle, it won’t matter. It’s a granny remedy but it really does help a sore throat.

    Tonight when you go to bed you might try TheraFlu, which is over the counter. When I was sick a few weeks back that really did help and it helped me to sleep better, too. Plus I didn’t feel all drugged out the next day like I do when I take Nyquil.
