We often think of our friends. Today we can reach out to them by sharing our lives and adventures in a card. Even though we use social media to be in contact, it’s such a nice surprise to receive a card from a friend.

And for those who don’t know (or care)…Super Bowl 50 determines the champion of 2015 National Football. The AFC champs Denver Broncos meet The NFC Carolina Panthers at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. Normally, it would be Super Bowl L but folks freaked out about using the Roman numeral L. It’s used for “L” loser.

Had to laugh PG–the pic of the ‘move the thing to the other thing’! describes me perfectly. Sad to say, as I like to watch football occasionally, but when the announcers get all technical, well it’s time for me to move on. I do want to watch the SuperBowl today though, kind of like what my mother in law used to say about people who only went to church on Christmas and Easter: the C & E’s. 🙄
Off to the shower, the sun is shining and promises to be a beautiful day!

Great pics! I too am not usually a sports watcher, but will watch the superbowl with Mr. AV tonite ….. I think I will try out a new recipe for hot chicken salad on him, I’m giving a shower for Day’s best friend who is also engaged, they will be in each other’s weddings ….

Hi everyone – I have a few dear friends who write. It’s so nice to get a note, and I always mean to write as well, but not often enough.
Geez, PG, thank you for pointing out the lack of Roman Numerals in the Super Bowl this year, I hadn’t noticed! I’m wearing my Jets sweatshirt, so that must mean I’m rooting for the AFC team, right? Not so fast. My socks have turquoise pumas on them, and I’m wearing my Giants earrings. Hmmm. On one hand I’d like to root for a Manning brother, but on the other, it’s fun to watch an up and coming QB win. I’m rooting for a good, entertaining game, with good, entertaining commercials! Hubby has had a tummy virus all week so I’m not sure how he will feel about the bag of Doritos I bought. Maybe if the smell of them doesn’t bother him I can still snack on them while he snacks on Saltines. Expecting a delivery of hogies from the local high school band. “Band hogies” have been a smashing success of a fundraiser for ages – we made them back in the day in my hometown too.
Ah yes, the C & E club, hehe – that’s how I am with the World Series. Don’t particularly like baseball, but enjoy the best of the best games.
Have fun throwing the shower, AV! I was thinking about White Kitty the other day when I watched Leela go bonkers over a swatch of catnip filled cloth that her friend Hermes gave to her via our very own Judy/Sobian. It’s been untouched for a while, but has suddenly caught her eye.
Having a blast with the residents of Roberta’s Ranch. Standing at my window this morning counting how many were out there – seeing five, until I looked down a bit and saw my little holdout Dewey looking at me! Louie didn’t bother getting up from the chair, choosing to look sleepily up at me as if to say, “breakfast in bed, please!”. I might be more than ‘food lady’ to at least big boy Huey, who rolls around and demands exactly 2 belly rubs. If I tap my leg he will stretch up and give my legs a big bear hug. He’s like a tiny Jersey Black Bear, only this one is safe to approach!

Aw, Joan, so heartwarming to hear of your ranch kitties…you know that it’s not Robert’s Ranch anymore but Joan’s Junction don’t you?! 😛
But these kitties are looking for so much more than food for their bodies, food for their souls and you are providing it! I used to get such a kick out of my older granddaughters when they were little like Avery. They would get out in the pasture with a passel of kittens and try to herd them in a direction. Of course, they would have kittens running everywhere; the kittens loved to be chased by squealing little girls as they had the advantage of squirting through the tall grass and up on the stacked wood and climbing up and away. Once they calmed down, they would let the girls pet and scritch them, topped off with treats from the kitchen. We always had the best kittens/cats as they had been socialized well by happy little girls!

Joan’s Junction, like the sound of this KZ. And tks to you I now have “Petticoat Junction” theme as earworm. “There’s a little hotel called the Shady Rest at the Junction …” I remember Bobbie Jo, Billie Jo and Betty Jo. And of course Uncle Joe and Kate. Hehehe.
Spin class (where supposedly instructor who dissed me got talking to, expecting apology would be asking for too much.) Class was packed. I thought most peeps would be at home watching Super Bowl until I was duly informed that it only starts later. That’s about as much as I know of the sport. Good luck to whatever teams you football TDKer’s are rooting for, and if there’s a conflict with this, well intention is well meant.

Haha KJ, sorry about the earworm, but I remember that show as well! Vaguely remember the actors, not much about the show, but I bet if I saw an episode, it would bring me right back. Hope you enjoyed the spin class irregardless of the a$$wipe instructor leading it… 😈
We are going up to dau and SIL (Avery’s mom and Dad) and having pizza and wings and to watch the game. Doubt if we stay for the whole thing, but I may just hit the DVR and watch the rest of it when we get home. I don’t have a preference on who wins, but hope it’s a good game between worthy opponents.

But then you’ll know in advance who won the game, KZ? Right, you don’t much care LOL.
Was diff instructor today, but I was “assured” that rude instructor was put in his place. Bottom line is that I am paying member, ’nuff said. And if things go weird again I go higher up the mgmt line. My plan is to go to 7 am class tomorrow as I like the instructor, which means getting up at o’dark thirty, which means getting to bed before Cinderella’s curfew.
Right now I’m doing some volunteer work as this works on my stress somewhat, sense of accomplishment and all that.
    Enjoy your family time!

Oh KZ, is that why that sign was delivered through the wormhole the other day? I’d wondered what that was all about. Makes sense now!
What beautiful pictures you have etched in your head of kittens and little girls!. Yes, Huey is fast becoming my biggest fan. Interesting, since he’s the one I have to pin down to wipe his eyes, but maybe that task requires just enough trust on both sides to earn respect and extra love.
Have fun watching the game. Remember, get up to pee during the game, not during commercials!
Hi KJ, enjoy spin class. I’m planning to be looking at the inside of my eyelids at that hour. Good the instructor was spoken to, besides, the paying member card holds a lot of merit. Though I know you’ll have no problem doing so, I hope you don’t have to go to higher management.
Just had a nice impromptu Sunday afternoon nap. Mac used my legs as a pillow. He hates being picked up, but enjoys nuzzling close.

I do like Joan’s Junction! How wonderful the kits know you are their foster meowmy. It does take a bunch of courage to let a purrson touch their eyes, too. KZ is right that you provide not only noms but warm fuzzies, too.

It’s good you have to spin class debacle in hand, KJ. O’dark thirty isn’t bad and you’ll be awake by the time class is over. 😉

When you mentioned your grandkids and the kittens, I remembered this video:

I just got up from my nap with kits and I’m ready for the game.

Hi all from Monday- a public holiday here in NZ.
Daughter Airy sends a card to me and her Nana every week. She bought a pack of 150 cards featuring paintings of plants done centuries ago and randomly selects two face down writes on them to each of us then turns them over to see which of us gets what. We thoroughly enjoy receiving the weekly cards and I have framed some for each of us as they are just so beautiful.
Mr MS and I spent the morning felling a tree that was overshadowing my garden so things wouldn’t grow. Tree successfully down and we are exhausted and the clear up will be done when the leaves have wilted. The wood will be stacked and dried for firewood for next Winter. HRH is going to be miffed as she like sleeping under the tree.
Watching some of the Super Bowl here and trying to figure it out. Half time show on now.
    Joan’s Junction sounds perfect KZ.
KJ, thanks for the earworm from Petticoat Junction – NOT.
Off to watch the half time show now.

The Denver Broncos led by Peyton Manning won Super Bowl 50.

    That’s it until next August when pre-season begins… 😥
