Today we celebrate two very special holidays-Pet Purr Parents Day and Kids and Pets Day! We recognize those who consider pets part of their families. For all the poop you’ve scooped; for all the treats you’ve given; for all the sleepless nights you’ve been crowded out of bed—we honor you! Kids & pets have a magical bond. Children that grow up with pets tend to be extremely nurturing and compassionate, making dedicated and loving parents and purr parents themselves. This, in turn, simply makes for a happier world. And who doesn’t want that?

Neat purry theme as Sunday, PG.
No pets purrmitted in “that place” where I grew up, but IMHO leaving home, which I did when I got very first job, presented purrfect opportunity to do as one wills, including eventually amending the “No Pets Allowed” thing. Here’s my 2 cents worth:

Joan, was wondering about whereabouts of LJG. I think of him when I see TV ads for “Outlanders” series as LJG (person) was a main character. tried to get into the books, but cynic in me couldn’t quite get that if one goes back in time knowing what future history is, why wouldn’t one avoid difficulties, ie not heading into thick of American Revolution with guns and cannons going off etc. And how can one not effect major changes in history? Costumes look nice, though.

Well thank goodness for small steps, hope that this actually helps the Tigers…now if only they would quit drugging the Tigers so that people can take photo ops lying on them…

    Morning all 🙂

Gosh I can’t ever imagine life without my pets! The first pet I ever had was a gerbil called Plum when I was just 4 🙂 and since then I’ve had pet rats, lizards, dogs, Clio my snake, hamsters, chinchilla of course … I’m sure I’m forgetting something..

Life would be intolerable without pets!

In spending some quality cuddling time with Noodle … Ms Moneypenny is fast asleep in the sun after havin a big breakfast.. She came up to me last night for cuddles she really is feeling more herself now.. I’m counting down the hours to her vet visit tomorrow .. You can be sure you’ll be the first to know what’s happening.. But I have a good feeling 🙂

Buttons, hope that all goes well with Ms. Moneypenny’s vet visit, and Dorry purrs in agreement (hoping not to dis Miss Nutini, but kits are fickle when it comes to affection for other kits.) I do know that waiting sucks big-time, in every situation.
My very first pet was Meadow kit Nicky the tuxie, stayed on this plane from kittenhood until had to help him cross over at age 12 (must not let myself get started as too weepy lately anyway), then Dorry entered my life as what will be 5 yrs ago beg June. Totally diff purrsonalities, Nicky was mega-cuddler, Dorry much more aloof, but he’s mine and I’m his and that’s that!

Morning all! Great pics PG and KJ, great links as always, Deb …. So sad about Nepal!
Buttons, I’m so glad Ms. MP is feeling better, enjoy that Noodle time 🙂

Abby woke me up early today ( monkey ) …. So I go down to give her her second breakfast, and there’s an orange face at the door …. Also wanting his second half can! They are in cahoots, I say !!

Good morning – can’t imaging life without animals here either. Grew up with basement kitty Jinx, who was around when I was born. Also had a tabby named Chipsie, and later her kittens, and we wound up with pretty and clever Rascal. Had fish, and hamsters too. The family doggies were before my time.
Sad situation in Nepal, and Mt. Everest.
Happy that MP is feeling better. The sunshine must feel good to her, as she knows what it is and she doesn’t need sight to feel its benefits. Sending white light and comforting vibes.

Lol at Abby and Sal. Great pics today, PG!

I’ve missed about a week here. Seems like so often when I get a chance to relax with the iPad for a little while, sons are using it either for their afternoon screen time or listening to Pandora. I’ve been thinking of Miss Moneypenny and am glad to hear she is doing okay. :).

Thanks guys!! Yes she’s definitely getting back to her old self 🙂

KJ Miss Nutini doesn’t mind Dorry showering Ms Moneypenny with attention .. I hate to say it but I think she might have a fancy man just like Abby.. This white cat is showing up a lot lately I’ve decided to call him Scarface as he looks like he’s had a rough start but Nutini has her nose glued to the window in the morning lately just to catch a glimps ..

I just want to thank you all again for keeping me sane! I love you guys!

Leela is celebrating National Audubon Day by doing some birdwatching from her perch – it helps that the sun is shining on her face too! ‘Her’ window is on the second floor, and tree branches are close, so when a bird lands there, she likes to chatter at them, so cute 🙂
So our Ms. Nutini has an admirer from outside too, how exciting!
Hi ECB – good to see you! Thinking about Lucy and wondering about her story. I guess she is the opposite of Mac; I wonder what his story was before he showed up and wonder what Lucy’s is after she left. Hmmm…

Waves at everyone, love to read all the goings on with outside kitties and just all of us. Cannot even imagine not having furry ones in my life, even if they drive me nutty at times with worrying about them being injured or something.

Friend/co-worker’s little stray just had 5 kittens this evening, 1 Calico and 4 Tabbies 🙂

Love the pics, they ‘squeezed’ my heart this morning and made me tear up. I have always had pets; cats, dogs, fish, turtles, birds, calves, racoons, opossums, you name it–I would try and take care of it. Still that way too. 🙄 Awful about Nepal and Mt. Everest. We watched a show last night on an avalanche in that area where several Sherpas lost their lives. How strange. Those sherpas make $5,000 a year–when some of these people pay $100,000 per trip! The government only pays a survivor (wife and kids) $400 for survivor’s benefit. I would think that if the government wants this valuable tourist trade to continue, they would pay these people what they are worth to the economy. WOW, Deb, I just read your link and the show we watched last night was about the deadliest avalanche (until now) on Mt. Everest in April of 2014!
Love hearing about Abby and Sal, and I’m sure they have made some kind of ‘arrangement’!
KJ, hope you had a restful sabbath, and Dorry quits slipping through the wormhole at all hours of the day and night! 😛
Well, I’ve been lazy long enough, need to get a shower.

Morning KZ 🙂 Thought that this past year the Sherpas and carriers were being paid a little bit more effective immediately after the last avalanche.
