Mothers-in-law have existed since… Well, we suppose, depending on one’s point of view, since shortly after Eden and the second wedding. (One must assume Adam and Eve’s were implicit). Mother in Laws can be you worst enemy or your greatest ally.

    Overheard in a restaurant:
She: This wine is described as full bodied and imposing with a nutty base, a sharp bite, and a bitter aftertaste.
He: Are you describing the wine or your mother?

And we’re in for a beautiful Sunday (well, in Denver anyway) and it’s professional football!!

Hi PG – I got up early this morning so I would have time to feed Theo and Moe and get home in time for the Giants game. These morning games are weird, but hey, I have to watch, especially when my team is playing, and they won!
Baby Tyler is home, with a no doubt exhausted mom and dad. I’ll be there during the week; she can only go up the stairs once a day, and then only if she is up to it. No nurses around to help, but new grandma will be there and niece’s hubby will be home tomorrow.
The rain stopped, but it is still super windy out. I’ve got a brew going in the slow cooker. Tonight will be a good night for a hot, stick-to-your-ribs dinner!

Very quiet in Café today. And I’m outta here in a few ’til Tues night as last of 2-day hols ’til Spring. And Tues special KJ day which I will I guess mark with Dorry (right!) Wed I plan to buy myself a not-needed relatively expensive small barrel hair brush. Then again, If I want something it’s needed.

Srsly cold out even turned on heat for a bit. But my wool sweaters are happy to be getting worn. Crud still here, hope it goes away soon as nothing for it, ‘cept rest? Nope, can’t see myself doing nothing, but I can sleep in tomorrow and Tues.

JJ, neat that niece has help with Tyler. Purrsonally I would not know what to do with a baby, ‘cept knit him/her a sweater! 😉

I did have a mother-in-law for the relatively short time that my marriage lasted. Let’s be polite and just say that she and I did not share same world view. Didn’t see much of her anyway, even though we live in same city. So over and done with that entire episode. And thankful to have left on my terms.

Just expanded my horizons cooking-wise. Once I had mastered acorn squash moved on to challenge of spaghetti squash. Very neat how it really looks like pasta. Srsly enhanced it with t. sauce and loads of cheese and will add rice or quinoa as side as must keep in mind that is not pasta. And no one would be impressed if I did otherwise.

    Have a great 2 Mon/Tues all!

Enjoy the holidays, KJ. Good for you for working with spaghetti squash!
I don’t really know what to do with a baby, but I was glad to have been there when the nurse showed new mom and dad the basics. We all figure people have been raising children for thousands of years, so we are all going to figure it out together.

Hi all, it’s a long weekend here and today Monday is the public holiday. Of course Murphy’s Law took over and I have been laid low by the crud. Burning throat and a cough that feels like it pops ribs and I have a voice so deep you have to be a buffalo to hear me,and I wheeze like an old steam train. I think KJ describes the low voice as sexy. Also have snotty nose and blocked ears for good measure. Groan.
I’m a Mother in Law ! ! I hope he thinks I am as wonderful as I think he is. 🙄 He had better. 😆

OK, this post took me far too long. I will comment later when I have more energy.
