Sunday -1/5/2016 – Lei Day

Willow is quite taken with Miss Berta as he just loves meeting new people! The girls were quite taken with all the pomp and circumstance of crowning kings and queens, princes and princesses and the dancing! Well, Thumbalina is quite exhausted and Bowtie and Leona are still talking about everyone and how beautiful Abby was in her tiara–although I think they were a bit jealous of the ‘bling’.

Good morning all. It is a cold damp day here. Brrrrrrrr
ECB, I used to get HRH Shadz into the carrier the same way, on end and tail first but now I put the carrier on the chest freezer lid up against the wall and scruff her and slide her in head first, she doesn’t give much resistance now because she knows it is going to happen despite her best attempts of resistance. I think we have come to a stage where there is token resistance/force from us both just to save face. Someone here on TDK years back suggested the tail first as the easiest method as the cat will follow it’s tail and it worked.
That Simon’s Cat had me LOL. It was so familiar.
JJ, how terrible I had forgotten about KW and 2P(it was 2O wasn’t it) hula-ing. They were really into it. Leela you would look so cute in a grass skirt.
AV, Miss Abby should have a four poster bed, afterall she is the Queen. Maybe her Daddy can add the posts and you can do the pretty canopy and drapes.
PG I assume HRH has headed over to the party on your patio, she likes a good party and loves playing in grass so a grass hula skirt will be to her liking. I think she has taken a ukulele with her too. Wow that menu sounds fabulous, I wonder if she will bring back a kitty-bag to share with me. I see she has swiped an old pair of my sunglasses, she must have heard about Dorry’s excessively gaudy shirt and taken them for eye protection. Miss Moppet you have created a fantastic party, well done.
LOL at Dude not having a shy bone in his body, the party could be very interesting with Dude, Comet and Dorry trying to outdo each other.

I like the idea of a ‘Queen’ bed, I’ll have to get Mr. AV and handy Scott on that right away!
I’m perusing recipes for Mexican Enchilada recipes, I’ve had one rolling around in my head for some time now ….
Did I tell ya’ll I have a black eye? …. seriously, at 58 (in Sept) …. I have a black eye! LOL …. I was on a step stool trying to put my box of crystal glasses back in an upper cabinet (that I can’t reach from the ground – thank you Mr. AV for being 6’2″ and hanging it too high) … so I was on the step stool, and looking down at the crystal box under my right arm, I reached up with my left hand and yanked ( I don’t do anything softly) the door open and WAP! … right in the cheek bone! …. ouchie! …. amazing I didn’t drop the crystal box! …. anyway, I looked in the mirror and saw a red spot, but didn’t really think too much about it …. (Mr. AV was out of town) … I wake up the next day and there’s a dark shadow under my eye …. it continues to get darker and redder by the hour! … Mr. AV gets home and is like ‘what happened to you?’ …. I told him and he laughs and says ‘honey, you’ve given yourself a black eye’ (I’ve never had one) …. he said ‘it will look worse before it gets better’….. sure enough it’s gone through the bright red to dark red to purple to now turning blue stages …. who knew??? LOL ….. at least it wasn’t closer to the wedding!

Hi MS – I remember either KW or 2P giving us a virtual hula lesson.
Mama Cat is glad she stuck around the lounge – she met Shadz and they discussed hunting in their respective grounds. They wonder if, when a mouse runs in frightened circles, whether they run in opposite directions in the North Hem. versus the Southern Hem. HRH is certainly the Katniss Everdeen of TDK! Star, being a bit shy, found herself in a comfortable circle with Leona, Bowtie and Scootie.
Ironically, Princess Berta has a new bed as of today. I acquired a medium size dog crate at the shelter yard sale 2 weeks ago. It’s been in my truck but I took it out yesterday, covered the slotted openings and put straw in it. I placed it so I could see from my back door whether it would be used and sure enough, Berta took to it! Wonder if I should have lined the straw with glitter…

A black eye AV? Ouch! Do peeps still put raw steak on those things, or is that only on TV? I’m sure that “enquiring minds” will ask how you got it and you can make something up to stop them in their tracks.
MS, I don’t dare. And how do I get the crown off His Majesty? It might do me damage during said HM’s bedtime pounce!
About that bed. I once attended one of those Cat Fancy shows where aside from the fancy bred kits, one can encounter some truly “interesting” peeps, ie the fancy kit breeders. Watching one of them apply eyeliner and loose powder on a white Persian before judging irked me in countless ways. But I digress. One kit had, in lieu of a cage/carrier, a French Provincial bedroom. Complete with canopy bed, carpeting, wallpaper and vanity, all scaled down to kit size. And I thought that I’d seen it all! 🙄

Well I’ll admit to having had a srsly faux French Provincial bdrm set when I was a very young KJ and in girly-girl mode. Thankfully I’ve gotten over that phase. No canopy bed though. Now if I really wanted one I could prob score it on the street, although n’hood tends to feature more modern, ie IKEA stuff which works for me. As in most recent addy closet with drawers acquisition which I am srsly loving! 😉

A little while ago Dewey wandered inside when I opened the door (chased away raccoons earlier, and then a possum – time to take in the food). It seems he likes to make the rounds, get pets and attention before going back to the door to go out. Mama Cat just came thru the wormhole too, and brought a mouse. The question is, is it a mouse from around here or did she and HRH swap catches?

Wow MS, that’s something to keep an eye on. Although those of us who know our cats usually know very well what they are saying!
