    Hat Day
Hats, hats, and hats for all the girls and boys. If you know how to wear them, a hat brings a sprig of style to an outfit or just round it out. From protecting your head to expressing who you are to the world, Hat Day is a great day to sport your best headwear! Hats have been in the world since at least 3000 BC, as an image of a man wearing a hat of straw was discovered in a mural from that time.

If you want to watch a good Western, I found “The Virginian.” I’m having bad stomach cramps so I’m going to lay down.

    cya l8r and have a happy~

Today’s theme is the perfect crossover from yesterday so all pics are crossovers.

Good morning! Hope your tummy feels better today, PG. Yep, perfect crossover theme with perfect pics.

We had to leave for dinner as the Buttercup search was wrapping up. I don’t think they found her last night, but they were so excited that we spotted her…had almost given up hope. (I think it’s been about a month and ours was the first spotting). They only live about four doors down, also on the creek. So she’s really close to home. And they were familiar with the good online advice out there about putting things that smell like home out to attract a lost kitty. So hopefully, knowing she’s still alive and nearby will encourage them to redouble those efforts. And I’ll be watching for her….especially around the time she showed up since cats are creatures of habit. Thanks for the positive thoughts for her!

Had a great time and Clark’s fish camp last night. Yep, Joan. If you make it here, it’s Clark’s and the zoo for sure!

KZ, so happy for you that you will be getting your new hip soon. Hip hip hooray! Sorry, couldn’t resist. Will keep your surgery in my prayers.

    Morning all!

PG, hope your tummy eases up, I went through this Fri night – not fun. You might want to nix coffee and try mint or ginger tea, dry toast, boiled white rice, I’m sure you know this stuff.

I do love hats of all types. “Sinn Fein” kit – hehehe.

And MS, the floofy white “cat in a hat” is immenently “squeeable!”

Just have to dispel myth that all handmade knits are from “Grandmas.” The store where my Knitting Circle meets is owned by boomers, most of the group is boomers, gen x and some millenials. The occasional young guy too! Same for customers. It’s a “newish” DIY sorta thing. Even the patterns these days are somewhat “out there.” I stick with classics, but that’s a choice. *Gets off soapbox.”

It’s cold out here. Purrhaps I should try wearing Dorry as a hat. Or not.

Now this has a certain “je ne sais quoi.”

Plan to pick up mattress topper after spin class and have mgr deliver the thing after store closing, which on Sun is 5 pm so I won’t have to be up all night making up my bed.

Happy Sunday all! …. pics are great today! …. of course, neither of my girls Caddy, or Abby would wear a hat, but I will say that both don’t mind their collars …. Abby’s is so loose it’s like a long necklace, and Caddys (thankfully) is adjustable, to be just snug enough to stay on and has no dangling things on it to get caught in bushes … it has her name and my phone # embossed on it, so people know she’s not a stray, and if anything ever happened, they could contact me …I’m getting the stink eye from her, because I finally cornered her to put a de-flea treatment on the back of her head …. not happy with me ! But she’ll be glad as the weather warms and she’s not infested!

MS, I think I missed your birthday yesterday! the happiest of purrdays to you, this is the time of year that you are ‘a year older’ than me for a few months! LOL *cackles*

EC, I hope your neighbors find their lost kitty – so scary for that poor wee kit!
PG, hope the upset gut goes away
KJ, lots of peeps I know knit, all ages, and many men!

Well, had a good family dinner last night, today will be clean up/get the house back together! … have a great day all!

I’ll say good morning to everyone, while it’s still morning!
PG, don’t like the sound of your tummy troubles. Hope they clear up soon and you are feeling better.

MS, I too missed your Purrday, and I’m so sorry! I don’t know how old you are, but I’m probably older, hee heee. ๐Ÿ˜† Anyway, I hope you had a special day!

KJ, exciting news about your mattress topper! I love getting new stuff for my bed! I’m washing pillows today–I always love how they feel and smell when they are just washed.

Oh, which reminds me I had a RUDE awakening this morning when Thumbalina was *hicka hicka*-ing right by my head! I pushed her off the bed, and she went to the night stand where she proceeded to yak. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ That would have been on my head, hair and face! ๐Ÿ™

ECB, sounds like a wonderful evening at the seafood joint–that would ALWAYS be good in my opinion!! So glad to hear you have seen the lost cat–maybe someone can put out a baited cat trap with some of her things inside as well as food. You made me LOL at the hip hip horray comment!!

AV, your evening sounded like such fun. Good food and family entertainment make for great evenings, and your warm Florida evenings…..*sigh* ๐Ÿ™‚

Such adorable and funny pics! I particularly like the pretty kitty on the lawn with her hat on. I wear my pink Giants hat when it’s cold.
Hope your tummy issues ease, PG. Looking forward to some good football later today and tonight.
Hey MS, you mentioned seeing a falcon yesterday. They are such beautiful, majestic birds. I always know when a bird of prey is around, the little birds shout at each other then hide!
I sure hope Buttercup finds her way home soon. All she needs is to be close enough to smell something yummy/familiar and not be too frightened to come out.
So true, KJ – knitting is for everyone! I guess the granny reputation is from ladies trying to keep arthritic fingers limber. Funny, I thought grannies were older, most I know are not!
Leela’s collar is fairly loose like Abby’s. I don’t particularly care for the way collars rub the fur off cats, but safety first!
OMG, ewww, close call with Thumbalina, KZ! Mmmm, nice freshly laundered pillows, nice!

That was a close call for KZ….yikes!

Buttercup’s humans put a crate in our yard with her favorite stuffed toy. We are keeping an eye out. And they are coming over this evening around the same time we spotted her yesterday. They are coming with food and bowl. (Older son suggested making noises she associates with food.) That made me remember reading that for real scaredy cats, they can stay in hiding for weeks until their hunger drives them out of hiding. Buttercup just may be at that point.

Narrow escape from yackage incident, KZ! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

So after spin class I went to pay for mattress topper. Also tried out some mattresses as eventually will need to spring for a new one (or not.) As I didn’t feel any diff from current one, mgr concurred that topper might do the job – for now.

Anyway the more rsch I do the crazier I get and it’s not a long trip LOL. This is not meant to be a life-changing incident. As someone who knows how my mind works told me the other day. “Just buy the thing!” So my bed is all nekked and mgr should be by in a bit (store closes at 5 pm) with the thing. Very good customer service I’d say as it’s a bit heavy for me to carry plus I had some other errands to run on way home. Then will top the topper w/padded mattress cover, sheets, etc. Will I sleep any better? Well not if I “find things to do” until 4 am, that’s for sure! ๐Ÿ™„

KZ so agree with you re fresh bedding! Your surgery date does draw closer. How long a hptl stay do you expect? And will you have help when you get home? Don’t know how your place is set up but I guess stairs would be prob for a bit. But I’m sure they’ve gone through all that with you at doc’s.

BTW, if any of you like historical mini-series laden with gorgeous costues, “Victoria” starts tonight on PBS. I plan to PVR then binge-watch it. Got terrif reviews. ๐Ÿ™‚

That wee Callie has the panache to wear the hat! I hope the mattress topper makes you sleep the sleep of babes, KJ.

    Please come home Miss Buttercup.

Ewww KZ – poor Thumbalina but definite ewwww.

I spent most of last night in the toilet. I finally feel asleep around 3. I’ve been shaky so I haven’t done much today. Ginger tea and unsalted crackers have been my food.

Yea-Green Bay for smoking Dallas. It was a good game though.

I’m watching my beloved Steelers as I type.

How’s this for a cool coinkidink? Today’s Star Kit sits in a hat! Baby Seymour is just too cute.
    Come home, Buttercup.
Yay Green Bay! Go Steelers! Hope you feel better soon, PG.
I may watch Victoria later as it looks good. Football tonight.
I sure hope you aren’t looking for things to do at 4am, KJ.

Oh no PG! Been there, done that tummy-wise, and so not fun. Hope that you feel better and soon!

Now I’m having a first-world prob as one of my 2 TVs is weirding out on me. Now that “Victoria” has stopped recording tech support instructs me to unplug then re-plug modem, then PVR on TV1 then TV2. I think that I can manage that. If it doesn’t work guess I’ll call 911. ๐Ÿ˜‰ or re-call tech support.

JJ, that is a coincidence re Seymour. But I like your take on the word better.

So my new mattress topper is installed and the bed all done up. Tried it for a sec and felt like my ribs and hip bones were better protected. Or I’m imagining it. Will have to see ’cause actually mattress is somewhat past it’s “best by” date. But no signs of wear and I discussed this with mgr. Then again previous one was 20 yrs old.

I’m getting over the top with this. Going to head down the hall and open tomorrow’s Cafรฉ. Ideally I will sleep like this. ๐Ÿ™‚

    Looks like baby Dorry!
