InactiveThe Pig is an underrated animal, so this special day was created in 1972 to attempt to elevate awareness of the intellectual prowess, adaptability and general tastiness of the humble Pig. The question will always be is this holiday a time to “give them a break” or to appreciate their offerings (spare ribs, bacon and ham). To show my appreciation, I am having bacon for breakfast! 😆

1 March, 2015 at 11:42 am #827853ParticipantButtons, we have been having wind, wind, and yes more wind the last day or so here, almost knocked me over and our highways have had warnings about the high winds and possibility of them blowing vehicles off the road. Guess we are expecting rain, thunder and lightning and more wind for the next three days…the desert needs it at least.
Currently at almost 5 a.m., it is 57F/14C here 🙂

Cute pics PG, love the word play! Won’t be appreciating tastiness of pigs anytime soon or for that matter anytime at all, as not kosher, but did enjoy watching film as “Babe”. 😉
Sounds like scary weather Deb, take care. 14 Celsius would see peeps in shorts and flip-flops in n’hood. Today and for next few some relief as -3 Celsius. Which I must get ready to go out in as now. KittyzeeParticipantGood morning everyone. AV, sorry about your tournament getting called off, but wonderful for a relaxing day instead! It’s snowing again here, a very fine snow, temps around 30* which is a heat wave really. Another 6″ expected I believe. Oh well. One day closer to spring. Some birds are coming back–believe it or not a mockingbird has been sited in the woods and am waiting to hear the first red-winged blackbirds! I’ll feel better if I can just ‘hear’ them!

….. I lost one of my big fishies, saw him belly up in the pond this morning 🙁 ….. it happens ….
….. Jojo/Sal came by late last night (and no, he didn’t bring the bowl back! LOL) ….. I had given Abby an entire can of her wet food before we left for the golf tourney, and she didn’t finish it, so I set the bowl on the outside steps, and he promptly hoovered it ….. Abby’s bowl is a heavy china one, so he couldn’t take it with him LOL

He has interesting eyes, I thought they were blue but they are sort of a light grey. Handsome and rugged. Sort of like Mac, but Mac has a gentle vibe; he probably only fought when he had to.

Deb we’re having similar weather here too.. Bad wind and sleet.. And this morning we got hit by lightening 🙁 pretty scary … It was a direct hit but thankfully we’re all ok and doggies were still in bed in their kennel when it happened thank god ! A few household devices are fried but main things were on surge extension leads so they’re ok .. Thinks like the fridge , tv and xbox…

AV, so sorry about your fishie. I hate it when that happens. I have to start investigating though as I’m afraid of a large fish kill like I had a couple of years ago. The biggest ones die first as they need more air than the smaller ones.
