Hello all!
I’m a brand new kitten owner. I’ve had my very first kitten, Ginny, for a little over 3 months now and she is now getting close to being 6 months old.
We are currently living in Cairo, Egypt where Spring is rolling around and it might as well be called Summer Part 1.
It is getting relatively warmer and Ginny is experiencing her very first heat wave.
She’s been lying on her side on the floor a lot more often these days although her activity level is just as high as ever.
I’ve made changes to her diet recently due to my decision to no longer feed her the commercial cat foods that are sold here. I used to prefer Royal Canin, but it will become unavailable very soon so I thought I’d make the switch as soon as possible.
Her meals consist of cooked meat and chicken sometimes in vegetable broth (I know some may prefer to feed raw but I still need to do my research) and she does love a hard boiled egg for breakfast. Tuna is offered rarely but she isn’t even its biggest fan. I tried to add as much variety as I can; I’m learning slowly. Otherwise, I occasionally give her some Friskies treats I bought while I was abroad.
She currently sleeps a lot more than usual and does that dropping to her side thing after playing that I mentioned.
Could this be because she’s getting warmer?
