Little Livia is a very active and athletic pussycat, and is about as brassed off as I am about the bit of s-n-o-w, most of whice was ice around here, so it hasn’t all melted despite temps above O°C yesterday. She wants to go out in the back but as soon as her tiny paw pads meet the s-n-o-w she tries to lift all fours and tries to get into the house. Then she wants out again. She wants to eat too many times, while she is not normally a greedy cat at all. Just eating out of boredom. What do you do? Sure, I do play with her, but I usually work at home, so she is jealous of the computer.

I’m happy to have such a healthy, active little cat, but hate to admit that at one point, she got on my nerves.

Lagatta how did Miss Livia’s V.E.T. appt go?
At times I too snap at Dorry as he is a feisty kit, and at times he seems to get on my last nerve, and then I get the guilts. I might not play with him enough and I am in and out all day, but all in all he’s a contented kit.
IMHO kits like anyone else can provoke us, but neither of us would ever cross the line and be cruel, we love them too much. This said I hear where you’re coming from.

Livia is in perfect health. When I first adopted her, she probably had worms – deworming is routine for adopted strays – and an infection in one ear – I had to put drops in that ear, which went smoothly.

I’d NEVER hit her or slap her, and I’ve never raised my voice to her – I try not to, as the only time I’d be tempted is if she got herself into danger, and shouting at her would only scare her away (such as in traffic…). She got out the front door today, but stayed on the balcony/landing staring at the snow; she is not allowed out in front as there is a street, with traffic. I love her more than anything else in the world – no, I’m not evil; both my parents are dead. But it is infuriating when she wants to pig out, from boredom, or blames me for the s-n-o-w. I am NOT the Deity.

We know where you’re at Lagatta. We love our kits more than just about anyone or thing but sometimes, they start pushing our buttons. Miss Livia is, indeed, blaming for the snow because you are the DEITY. We are in charge so long as something interferes with their pleasurable purrsuits.

Miss Livia knows you’re new to kitten-dom, too.

    Be happy-she loves you!

Livia ISN’T a kitten. She looks like one as she is so small, and is as active as a kitten, but she is two years old. She isn’t usually as annoying as kittens (and small human children) can be; she is frustrated because of the snow. They never seem to remember that it snows here every year, not even Renzo who lived to be 20.

Miss Gaea is the same way about snow. Every time we have snow, she looks out and I can almost hear say “WTF.”
